I was born in 1915 and the roaring 20s was the best decade of the 20th century. Despite the Spanish Flu, Stock market crash of 1929, and Hitler being the Fuhrer of the Nazi party, it was a great decade of technological achievement as well as the birth of Jazz music. I am 105 today and this music takes me back to my childhood days. Let us all bring back the 1920s in the 2020s decade. I encourage the youth today to promote Jazz music and silent films.

I'm 47 and my grandmother graduated high school in 1926. When I was in my 20s, I took her every year to her high school reunion and I had a blast every time I went. I have all of her records that she had kept from that time and I still listen to them. Hell, from the time I was 22 to this day, I have my hair cut and styled in the exact same bob that she had then. I feel exactly the same way, except that I should have been born in 1904 not 2004, though I'm quite glad that modern medicine exists along with anaesthetics. I do not want to go to an Edwardian dentist, nor one from the 1920s for that matter
70 years from now. the music of today will be considered oldies and music like this may be lost or forgotten or hell, maybe not, it would be historical type shit. like stuff youd hear in history books and teachers would begin with "almost 200 years ago..." man....thats kinda sad in a way....

You know, i wish we could go back to this kind of music. It seems like weve lost the meaning of what music is really about and what you feel when you listen to it. Im not saying all musicians are bad now, some still have talent and some are developing talent, but its nice to see people still enjoying music like this even young people of this generation.

Scott Fitzgerald during the 1920s and tells the tale of Jay Gatsby, an upper class citizen in New York who reencounters his teenage sweetheart after returning from World War 1 but is stopped from pursuing her romantically by her husband, Tom Buchanan. Honestly, my summary doesn't do the novel justice - it's really sensational and widely hailed so. It's got plenty of heavy themes and the prose is written so well. I'm only making assumptions, but I assume you're not American due to your name (forgive me if I'm wrong), but it really is a novel that should be (and is) celebrated internationally. Check it out sometime; it's not too long or too hard of a read either!

I don't think society changes as much over time as we like to give it credit for. They had tons of issues back then, and we have tons of issues that weren't there back then. It's easy to think of the past as a simpler time - 'Look how much we've evolved!' (socially, technologically, etc.) - but always remember that's how they'll probably think about us in a century or two from now. For each decade, call out the problematic stuff & enjoy the good parts & you'll be fine.

One of my favorite historic eras. If I had a time machine, the roaring twenties would be one time I'd for sure visit! The music is really relaxing, as it's got that oldie feel that I enjoy :)

Being born in August of the year 2000, i was able to meet my great grandmother who was born back in the year 1920. Ive grown and fallen in love ❤with the music 🎶 from this time 100 year's ago 😊 especially the clothes and cars everyone had at the time 😄. P.s. Even with all the horrible things that happen in this era I cant stop being fascinated, maybe because I really love the Noire genre, I get all the Neo-Noire movies and games, like Mafia I, Mafia II, L. A. Noire and even the Godfather II, to see how was the lives of the people that lived between the 20' to the 50'.
@@karvast5726 Actually in 1945 you could lie about your age if you pass the physical test to go war, but as always this was divided by colour and economic class, rich kids could always skip WWII, but poor black kids not had other options than go to war and die, in you were in Europe, unless you were in the UK or Ireland, you not have another option, because not matter the age, if you didnt, you would be captured by the German, put on a ghetto, death camp and if you collaborated with the German you would be marked as collaborator, and let me tell you, most people chose the later option, because that is always the human nature.
@@TheKeyser94 i was talking about WWI because it's closer to the 20's than WWII is but yes i've heard about that they could lie about their age to join the military in WWII

As a 18 year old who people look at like she's crazy when I say 20s jazz helps me with my panic attacks, PTSD attacks, and anxiety and I use it to clam down when I'm nervous or when I'm having a bad day I really really LOVE this era of music there's just something so soothing about it I can't quite explain
