I am getting ready to fly out and adopt our 7th child, our son. I wanted to fill our freezer with delicious meals for my family while I'm gone. This couldn't have been more perfect timing Abby Jo! :) Many blessings this spring!
Congratulations on your new family member..🍾🎈🎊🎉 I always wanted a big family. I only had 3 bio’s before my husband passed….but throughout the years, I took in 9 other children(various ages) who’s family just didn’t want them…or were abusive. I found a few of these kids living on the street. I took them in, fed, clothed, educated them, gave them chores and taught them accountability, unconditional love, discipline, etc…. All finished high school. All but one finished college. I am so proud of them all…. I am pushing 80 now, and I look back and realize there was nothing legal about it..oops! … I never met any of their parents but we did correspond a few times to get birth cert. for school, etc…(some of the kids had hitchhiked at 13 & 15 years of age clear across the country😞) I had never heard of “fostering”…. And I never thought anyone would let a single old lady adopt… so while there is no “legal” aspect to how I took them in and raised them…..they are and will always be MY children! ❤️
Thank you for showing us how to be peaceful instead of cooking at a stressful pace. That is much more important than trying to force getting too much done. I love the music!

I just found your channel and I have to say it’s the best on RU-vid. My daughters are married and with their own families, this takes me back to when they were home and I’d make freezer meals and bake the bread for the week. Oh my Lord the wonderful memories. When my kids were young and I was a stay at home mom I would make freezer meals. Now it's just my husband and I. This video encourages me to make freezer meals on a small scale. All off the meals you made we would love in a small batch. I love the idea of shopping thrift stores for small dishes to use and preparing one meal to gift!

I wanted to share with you, since you said you can tomatoes and you ran out of milk while cooking, you can can milk to make "evaporated" milk. It works so well and has come in handy more than a few times. Coffee creamer, pudding (from insta-gel, powdered milk, powdered vanilla, and sugar), gravy, Mac and Cheese, etc. Mrs. H of Homestead Heart here in the wonderful land of RU-vid shows you how to do it and while you're there, check out her canned butter method. Hi Abby, that was one long day. I kept thinking to myself about how my legs would ache after that. Going to try your recipies probably keep the quantity on some for unexpected guests or just fill up smaller containers for later. I love your homemade recipe for cream of chicken soup. Going to try that as well. Man these recipes looked so good, and I agree that there is nothing better than a hot potato. The options for toppings are endless!

Watching this reminded me of when my kids were little and I did all the meal prep for a week. I've never had the freezer space to do the massive cooking. Now that I'm 84, I'm learning to cook for one. Not easy, after cooking for a big family.

Wow I love the pizza idea, my son is a pizza addict. We usually double up our ingredients and put the extra in the freezer. I can't stand or chop for long due to having arthritis, fibromyalgia and ME/CFS. The pain becomes unbearable and if I do too much it puts me in bed for days afterwards. You food looks so good and I really enjoyed watching this, many thanks from me in the UK xx

Your chicken pot pie recipe was delicious, a 5 spoon rating! The one recipe made two 8 x 8 pans and I gave one to my mom. I baked it yesterday during the lower electricity rate time, and had it for dinner this evening (microwaved). It is the best recipe ever. Big thank you, I will always make this.

My first time watching your video! You are so calming and very organized so I enjoyed this video very much. One thing you might consider is, instead of freezing your meals in the casserole dishes, which take up a lot of space, you can line them with foil then fill and freeze. Once the casserole is frozen you can pop it out of the dish, wrap it up, and slide it into an extra large freezer bag. When your ready to cook one you just take it out of the foil and pop it into the dish to thaw and cook.
I am a new subscriber and I was searching for a very slow comforting farm style cooking and living and I found your channel!! May I just say, I have 6 kids and I have been stressed out some times but watching your videos help me to come back to slow down and embrace my time at home with my kids starting with lighting a candle! I have noticed that for some time, the vast majority of adults don’t know how to cook anything from scratch. Even my own mother didn’t cook much without convenience foods. Both of my grandmothers were excellent cooks. Not sure what happened. Your channel gives me hope. 😊 I love that you prefer to make your own homemade broth, but are fine with store bought broth when needed. You seem to be flexible while being frugal and practical. I look forward to more videos from you. ❤️

My former sister in law, since passed, was a fabulous cook. You remind me of her. She lived about 5 hours from us across the state so going to her house was a treat a few times a year not only to visit, but watch her cook. It was like watching a musical come together. I was entranced! Thank you for sharing. We always cut off the tops of the peppers and stuff them that way. They fall over, spill the filling and get all goopy. Thank you for posting your recipes. I love freezer meals and am always on the lookout for some new ideas. I do love the more homemade way that you showed. I do understand times when corners need to be cut for the sake of time but the more homemade the better. I will most likely try them all. And YUM! That pizza looked delicious!!!!

I am a newly mum I have an 11 month old daughter. She's finally sleeping through the night so we all have great energy throughout the day and I feel like I can finally start pre making meals. So far I cook around 3.45 as I work 7pm till 11pm Sunday Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and doing this pre making meals instead of cooking meals those afternoons would be great to spend even more time with my daughter what's 1 day of full cooking apposed to 4 afternoons 😅 I will start off with 2 meals though as I only have a small freezer. I plan on looking at getting a bigger freezer eventually 😁 thank you and new subscriber ♥️♥️

All of your recipes look absolutely delicious. I wish I had room in my freezer to prepare ahead and freeze meals. It is just my husband and me now that the kids are all grown and gone but I would still like to do some of these meals. Thanks for sharing your recipes and prep expertise.
You can use 4 to 6 Bread tins instead of 9x13 pan for the two people sized portions from bigger recipes. If you line with parchment, you can freeze then lift them out of your pans for later using a freezer bag.❤
We barely have food to eat to be honest with you honey. My husband was severely hurt on the job almost 9 months ago and he is still in the hospital very far away from us. We live on his workers comp only and it is not enough money to pay rent and utilities and food here in Northern California. But soon, we will have the money and I will make freezer meals for me and my kids. God Bless you honey.
