Hey, so does that mean you left the original servo motor in place along with the cables? You simply disconnected the plug from the servomotor and inserted the servo buddy right? How does the sound compare?
@joeRepublic85
@joeRepublic85 11 месяцев назад
That is correct. (I removed the servo and all the cables) It definitely sounds a lot louder and deeper.

Hey buddy, just checking did you remove all of the servo hardware including the cables? If so, I noticed one cable coming from the servo motor into the Mono shock absorber!? Cheers

Hi, thanks for the observation. Thats the servobuddy (which prevents fault codes when removing servo). It was just fitted here and cable tied up after the video.

Hi, I have the same bike and want to order server buddy for mine too. Can you post a link to the one you bought? Is it the same as for the previous models? Great sound!
@joeRepublic85
@joeRepublic85 2 года назад
No, it's no the same as the previous Gen, however it is the same one from the new RR. This one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402780919493 To be honest, the cheaper way to do is to just remove the cables from the servo motor to the flap valve. It's 'normally open' so once the cables are removed it will stay open. You can then just plug the servo motor back in, with no fault displayed. Good luck!

Any engine lights with the buddy plugged in?

İ just left the servo cables out of its sockets no buddy needed?

Yep, you can do that too.

Hi. Is it the same on your bike,when you turn on ignition(without starting) fuel pump keeps running forever? Shouldn’t it tur off itself after few seconds 🤨
@joeRepublic85

Yes mine is the same.

@@joeRepublic85 Hello Friend. I get a doubt out of this bike's Quick shift, it has a louder noise than the previous model. you saw deference!!

None at all, the valve is purely for sound management, nothing to do with back pressure in the engine.
@LoveBikesDorel

Can I leave the cables and everything there and just connect the servo buddy ? Valve is open on idle and close once you accelerate to reduce sound so no need I guess to disconnect anything. Just plug in the bypass buddy on the connector and leave everything on the bike? Am I missing anything ? Thanks 😊
@joeRepublic85
@joeRepublic85 9 месяцев назад
You can indeed, however just know that the servo will still “actuate” the cables when loose, so they may scratch around near the swing arm/exhaust. They’re relatively simple to remove (along with the servo).
@LoveBikesDorel
@LoveBikesDorel 9 месяцев назад
@@joeRepublic85 the valve is actuated by the motor.Once the servo buddy is connected to the socket no voltage goes to the actuator anymore and it goes just in the buddy socket .I personally decided to just disconnect the metal cables and don’t connect the servo buddy. I don’t know , I trust more the factory motor rather than connect a foreign electronic monkey to the bike electric wiring.not a big sound difference but yeah sounds definitely better with this valve on open 😀

Coudnt tell if you removed the exhaust servo motor cables attached to the motor aswel..you should if you are going for more sound...i did and its.much louder now with the valve open all the time.
@joeRepublic85
@joeRepublic85 3 года назад
So here i;d only unplugged the Servo motor and plugged in the Servo Buddy. Ultimately, the end result is the same, as the servo motor no longer drives the valve (via the cables) once the Servo Buddy is plugged in. The only reason i left the cables/servo attached is so i could plug them back in for my first service a few days after this video. If you check my other videos, you can see i have now removed the exhaust in its entirety, which, if you are after sound improvements, is absolutely insane.
@bertstokvis5386
@bertstokvis5386 3 года назад
@@joeRepublic85 not sure about that though. When the cables are still in place at the servomotor it keeps the valve from not opening intirely all the time, except if you loosend them up and left them there for later reattachment. I have a full system from Austin Racing on its way my friend..cant wait for the sound upgrade haha.
@joeRepublic85
@joeRepublic85 3 года назад
@@bertstokvis5386 If you take your end can off, you can see that the default position of the exhaust valve is the open position. Once you disconnect the Servo Motor (from the ECU) it can no longer drive the motor/valve, and as such the cables become redundant. People remove them and the servo for weight reasons, but it isn't required for noise gain. Obviously, if you want to save money buy not buying a servo buddy, you can just remove the servo cables to the valve and plug the servo back in. Congrats on the headers!! I can tell you from experience that they are a hell of a lot easier to install than the older model headers. Good luck!
