These videos are in no way meant to replace the purchasing of commercially produced DVDs of SCTV. Making this series available is in no way meant to break copyright law. I am hoping fans of the series will have renewed interest in SCTV and will spread the word about this Classic Canadian Comedy Legend.
I have included all 185 episodes of the Syndicated Series of SCTV. Please note that the Syndicated Series has material not available on the current crop of DVDs, and also that the DVDs have material not available in the Syndicated Series. Please note that there is also material not available in either.
This means that at this time, the complete series is not commercially available for purchase. I hope you will consider signing the online petition at www.change.org...

Amazingly another Canadian show--"Corner Gas" was once ranked higher--I hated Corner Gas--there was nothing funny about it at all--in fact, I found many of the characters on that lousy show annoying not funny

Cant beat sctv for pure comedy. This was recorded in the 1970s and it still has me laughing. Hard. Brilliant

Unmatched sketch comedy to this day. They were beyond any troupe in the US. Superb writing and acting. Only Canadians have this warped sense of humor. Thank you, Toronto, for SCTV!

They also did some work in Edmonton, Alberta. I wonder why went there. Maybe as a tryout formula.

@@maryannemelenka9250 That was Season 3 and it had to do w finances and finding a studio and backer for their work. Crazy, given how good the material was.

I've been watching a lot of the skits and full shows lately and I just realized how much of this show was carried by Eugene Levy and Joe Flaherty. Their characters were hilarious 🤣
@loyaldude10

They were indeed. But the others were just as funny--Andrea Catherine Dave Thomas and Candy. As well as Rick Moranis

Agree completely. The Sammy Maudlin Show never gets old and Levy as Bittman is a classic.

They’re all great I have seen every episode more than once: John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas and ESPECIALLY Andrea Martin and Catherine O’Hara made SCTV classic So Funny

I love it when Sir Kenneth (Harold Ramis) 19:20 puts his finger through the "priceless" Mona Lisa and then tries to cover up the hole with his hand--laughing hysterically and then Sammy's (Joe Flattery) reaction--LOL!!!

It was funny that someone in the audience in the Indira Gandhi sketch said "You should declare a state of emergency for your voice". The real Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency when she was the Prime Minister which allowed her to suspend individual liberties and rule without input from the legislature.

Sammy Maudlin Show @12:17. What a Show ! What a Talent !! Remarkable !! I mean that Sincerely. But why is a show of this caliber seemingly always started while in progress ? I know that the North American Solitaire Championship Semi Finals are important and everything, but still, it's an insult to Sammy. I watch the show whenever it's on. I really do.

Earl's obsession with dogs in this "SCTV News" installment is but one manifestation of how far steeped in the whole "Happy Talk" ethos he was: the tabloid slant, emphasis on fire, crime, sex, tear-jerkers, *animal stories* and an obsession with the occult . . . his retort to Floyd over the latter chewing him out over his "dog fetish" sounds similar to the dismissive attitude of the general manager of a top-rated San Francisco TV station during a "60 Minutes" piece in 1974, when informed of that station's news priorities (where "important" stories were given extremely short shrift, if at all): "When do we have to dwell on the problems of the Middle East over and over and over again? When do we have to dwell on the Cambodian situation over and over again, when there is other news going around?" Or, if this GM worked at SCTV, "When do we have to dwell on the Togo situation over and over again?"

After they got rid of Harold and brought in Rick is when SCTV hit its stride. After that it was on a down hill slide with all the newcomers.
