I am in the process of reorganising my whole house a room at a time. I aim to have this all done by Easter. I am sick of not being able to find things I know I should have, can’t find it then when I re buy I find it. I am also going to have a running inventory of everything I have stored all in a note book. Using this to keep track of things and where they live. At the moment I have like things in more than one place.
No need to waste anything if one keeps track of what needs to be used up first. Rolling rather than folding clothes is also a good tip. Plastic milk crates work well for storing canned food preps. Plastic buckets with gaskets in lids work to store dry foods by sealing them in mylar bags dating and labeling.
I recently started doing what I call “decluttering before buying”, lol. When I want to buy something, I think: is this something I will most probably might be getting rid off soon because I’m not so sure about it, then I don’t buy it. Also, I make e-wish lists (w/pictures) for different things (books, clothes, etc). Every now and then I come back to them and see what’s in there…most of the time I end up deleting almost half of the things in those lists. For some reason, as time passes, they don’t seem that appealing to me anymore
