21 Years Later I Found Something - Gaming Mystery SvC Chaos - What Happened during Development?

This game was released in 2003 for the arcade then ported to xbox original and playstation 2 consoles.
Now in 2024, yes 21 years later. I found something with Balrog (Boxer).
There is 1 frame that was not completely finished. Jump and Fierce Kick has an incomplete sprite.
Missing colors to blend with the rest of the body. Also occurs on Playstation 2. Did not check XBox version as I don't have it.

ya that cap vs SNK , seeing the snk art on the capcom fighters was why I got it in the past, that & the 2nd one had custom colors you could edit on the fighters.

My main issue was that everytime I played Balrog, Shin Akuma was the boss, and I don't think I could beat him once, specially with a ps controller. Joke aside, interesting find. Love this game.

The final boss depends on the random set of characters you fight with. Kao Megura's FAQ on gamefaqs mentions a list of CPU character sets you can end up fighting with and he essentially says whatever company the 6th character you fight with is from, the normal bosses that occur next will come from the opposite company instead (So if you get a character set that has a Capcom character as the 6th opponent, you get Orochi Iori and Serious Mr. Karate as the normal boss and vice versa with Shin Akuma). Personally, I reset back to the character select screen if I end up getting a character set that leads me to bosses I don't want to fight with. This does not apply to secret bosses, Athena and Red Arremer who has a different set of requirements to fight with. This info pertains to the arcade version, I dunno about the PS2 one.

@@rogeneyusi1943 Yes. My issue wasn't getting S. Akuma as boss, but not being able to beat him with Balrog, haha. As for Red Arremer/Athena I know the requirements. I played this a lot at the arcade and years later on an emulator with an old pc using a ps controller. Never played a console version.

Cool find ! This is just like the incomplete sprites in mortal kombat 3 where you can see arrows on Jax, kung lao & I think kano or nightwolf. There in every port and every version of mk3 like umk3 and trilogy
