Even though Kitty was brutally honest with Laurie half of the time on her behavior, mannerisms and the way she turned out to the point it seemed like she didn't love that much. This moment shows that Kitty did really care for her and didn't want Red to lose his way. But his views did have to change about her, she is clearly no perfect little angel anymore and he really need to see his daughter from his wife's perspective as well. But then again, at the end, she still has him wrapped around his little finger without knowing the full truth about her living situation. lol
i don’t think kitty is supposed to seem like she hates laurie, but kitty had to watch laurie get away with literally anything she wanted and red would ignore it all of the time while red would constantly come down on eric while eric was a pretty decent child

I pray if I have a daughter, or even children in general, I don't end up like Red. Many parents appear to have these shortsighted mindsets about their children. Kitty does the same thing to Eric. They will never be babies for very long, and they will never be perfect people. Trying to hold onto that blinds you and can lead to unnecessary conflicts and selfish decisions that end up being bad for everyone.
Kitty’s right. Parents need to love their children just the same no matter the choices they make and the paths they take. Even when they think we’re still their little boys/girls,We’re not all perfect,but we have to live our own lives now that we’re all grown.
Tell that to families which have been suporting addicts for like 15 years just to get another 15 years of the same. At some point you have to drop toxicity. Eaven if its your child. Laurie here isnt that bad tough.

Family doesn't matter to some people because they're sacks of crap or sociopaths. I had a sibling who I took in after our father passed away, and she had no where else to go. We lived with each other for several years, ended up buidling a stronger familial bond then ever had growing up. Howd that turn out you may ask? She ended up stealing 25k from me. My mom still loves her daughter, but as far as I'm concerned I don't have a sister anymore. Some people will just ruin you with no regard. Those kind of people can rot in hell.
I can't say I blame Red for feeling that way I mean he just loves his kids alot and doesn't understand why they do what they do but he loves his kids regardless
@@deletedwaffles But on later seasons, Red sure learned how to love Eric. I think it even surpassed Laurie because Eric managed to be responsible after he passed 18.
@@IronMan-tk8uc Yeah, everything flipped around Season 5 when Laurie came home for Thanksgiving. By then, Kitty was more accepting of Laurie while Red was harder on her and Eric became his favorite by that point.

I think that's one of the hardest part of being a parent. You have to love your kids even when they make bad decisions or don't do things you agree with. Why I don't want kids and still something I don't think I can do.
Okay, close your eyes, concentrate, and then picture literally anyone else on that show telling Red that he's a bad father and an unreasonable dumbass... Go! I can't stop laughing about it! So many foots in so many asses!
If there was ever a deleted scene for this episode, it would be a scene of Red screaming at Laurie for lying about moving with some. Thus, the scolding would obviously hurt Laurie emotionally. Any ideas of Red's words to Laurie or a script of him yelling at her?
I like how they give Laurie everything and provide the easy route for her to take and she ended up being a loser skankoid. Meanwhile, Eric gets denied almost everything and make his life difficult and hard and he ended up smart and independent and self sustained.
That happens with a lot of families with multiple kids. One gets favored more than the other, but it eventually turns out to be the worst thing they can do
I hate that kitty tells Red that he's not being a good father. Actually he was being a father for once by seeing the kind of person Laurie was being at that time and telling her off. He's always turning a blind eye towards her and she's constantly manipulating her way with him. I kinda did feel bad for Laurie but I was also pretty happy with Red in this episode.
It took him THAT long to see what Laurie was. He didn't scold her for dating her professor, but he drew the line at living with a man? If Red had been half as hard on Laurie as he was with Eric, she would have turned out much better than she ended up being

I don't think so. She didn't pass away until the early 2010s and this had to be around the late 90s or early 2000s. She was going through quite a lot till her final years.
I kind of like the idea take all the pictures down. But in reality. Your children do good it is a reflection of your efforts. Your children do not good it is a reflection of your lack of effort.
