Thank you for the great video! I learned a lot. Stuff you didn’t even talk about. I presume that shaft just spins inside the govener arm?? That’s great because any un wanted wear happens outside the motor and doesn’t tear up the cup and govener arms inside the motor. Thank you sir!
Please help me understand something....if the gov arm is no longer connected to or moving the gov, why not remove the arm all together? Just connect the long arm directly to the carb? TIA.

Good video sir, but what happens to the governor internal arm being free from the exterior arm? Won’t that spin free due to not having the external arm unbolted?
Basically you can keep the Governor arm on and connect a spring to we’re the gas tank bolts on or do what I do and just tear out the whole Governor assembly because the way you have it if you’re at high rpm’s and hit a bump and the arm engages it will tear your engine up. At least keep Governor arm mounted and connect a spring back to gas tank area to be safe.
to each their own. i prefer the hemi my self. however there are things i like about the non hemi as well...my next build will be a hemi block with a non hemi head. they say it's the bee's knees...
Its NOT safe. Do not do this. If you feel you must, remove the gear and washer from the crank case. If you do not, you can grenage the plastic gear and the small metal weights will most assuredly trash you guts. Do not do what you see in this video.
