I use the 10MHz distribution from SV1AFN behind my PRS10 (rubidium) controlled by the PPS of a timing GPS. Many of symmetricom/microsemi clock distribution are not even competing on the jitter, and the price is totally different.

Yes agree SV1AFN has some good quality stuff for nice price

I have a thing, maybe an early transistor tester? Its maybe 30s or 50s. Its a mahogany box, maybe a box box. It takes a battery and has a button, a couple of needle gages.

Hi, my DXPatrol GPSDO is not hot like yours. Is supplied with 13,8 V and is not warmer that the room temperature. That is strange.
@TonyAlbus

Hi, maybe your device is newer and has a OCXO that produces less heat or the power regulation is better so it also produces less heat.

Hi, Tony! I have the GPS with the LCD you show in your video. I am curious why you use multiple GPSDO units since your splitter can supply all your devices. I would think using different devices would introduce inconsistencies between the units if you are using them as external references..

Hi James, i use only 1 at the time indeed. i have more becouse of different Satalite networks, Galilea, Glonass and GPS. later i found out, most of this gpsdo devices can do all networks, it just activating them.. i have a video about that too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eAdJSErqZOk.html here i show how you can activate for free all the SAT networks.

Hi Tony, first keep up the good work with the very interesting subjects. As input for your GPSDO project, did you ever tried the MiniGPS from Leo Bodnar? I use one combined with the 10M-6ppl and FA-2. 73's André PD2AM

Thank you Andre! .. Yes Leo makes great stuff, also those fast rise time devices. i am now buying most of the stuff myself, maybe someone can confince Leo to send me some stuff to play with :) Yes that is a nice setup, i like that pll and FA-2 too..

Too bad DX-Patrol was not Neo 8 or 9 or had NMEA GPS data available. I do like that they show the schematic in the manual.

In addition to likely being more reliable, your money not going to support a regime that currently has active concentration camps seems like an upside. In electronics we have little choice aside from sending some of our money to China, but I think that if we can spend our money with liberal democracies that support human rights, morally, we should.
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus 3 года назад
Yes it could be more reliable, but i would have prefered the GPS in a bigger box so it does not become that hot and a serial output. But the devices look indeed very good.

@@TonyAlbus Have you ever looked into the Leo Bodnar GPSDO, UK based? There is a "mini" and a two channel version. I use the "mini" which is excellent, has a very small metal case and it gets only hand warm if at all. And it allows setting wanted ref frequencies very easy through a little App (I use on my Mac computers, but also Windows version available) Not a cheap devive, but well built and I like it ;)

@@markuskeller9734 Hi Markus, i do know Leo i have the fast risetime generator.
