I’ve furnished almost my entire apartment via thrift and Craigslist. When u find folks that are moving out of state & everything must go it’s an epic score. I’m surprised u didn’t have hotel furniture stores they’re great as well.

So so jelly of you Americans when it comes to homewear. Here in Holland there's very little options, would love a west elm or similar stores here. Hardware stores are lame too, very basic and small. Many people end up with the same stuff and resort to Ikea. Glad I'm a thrifter but I'd be nice to find cute stuff in regular stores

TIP: you can get so many free things on Craigslist that are actually really great like furniture, home improvement supplies, wood palettes for diys, even clothes sometimes! Also with a little sanding, paint or wood stain, and a few knobs, you can make a $10 piece of furniture from the thrift store or a garage sale look high end and expensive!!
