Can you guys maybe get a weekly segment with Ron Counts? That would be a huge get.

I would hate the g5 breaking away from the fbs and I don’t think it would financially make sense for any party. BSU gets not great, but decent TV money and their football team is definitely profitable right now. I live in Georgia and I have gotten almost every BSU football game on my cable for the past decade. BSU has done a great job at cultivating “out of market” fans and that has only been possible because of them being a part of the fbs. And then on the FBS side, it behooves them to keep some relationship with the G5 because markets like San Diego, Boise, Tampa, Buffalo, Las Vegas are all big cities with plenty of viewers. Letting the G5 have one single play in spot is worth it to keep the entire country engaged for a majority of the season.

I feel that one of the reasons that Ashton Jeanty stayed was because he has a better shot at the playoff at Boise State than he would at a 2nd tier Power 4 team. I think if Boise State shows they can get the the Playoff, they will continue to keep and recruit better than many P4 teams.

If we are competitive vs Oregon and go 12-1 I think we might actually be ranked above 12.

On the topic of separation, let’s see how we stack up next year to Oregon. It will be interesting to see if we are even in the stratosphere of them now that they are buying 5-stars at every position. I loved college football because it was a possibility that any given Saturday a team could come out motivated and upset a P5. I think those days are coming to an end as all the top end G5 talent bails for the P5. Look at how badly Washington destroyed us last year. You just can’t keep up talent-wise with those top 20 teams. Bowl games are basically meaningless now outside of the playoff unless they up the stakes and pay the winner handsomely enough to make the players take them seriously.
