Walmart is like a nuclear bomb on small towns, all those little independent shops destroyed to be replaced by a giant bland warehouse, depressing.

Walmart NEVER FAILS to disappoint. Your go-to place for a sweatpants fashion show and lame customer service!

Mr. Sam was a fine man. His greedy kids grew the company and intentionally shut down local competition in small towns to establish a monopoly. Then by reputation they moved into suburban America. They sell with the clams of being patriotic and buy products from China for consumers. Don't even get me started on how they treat employees. I have not shopped there in years. I would rather pay a dollar more and support local retail. Sorry Ken. You gave a good report, but I am prejudiced by knowing behind the scenes corporate greed involved here.

I try to keep my own opinions out of these videos as much as possible, however, what you've written most closely mirrors my own thoughts. -Ken

Until the kids took over, now we see where they got most from, their mom, smh, only if Sam knew, he would not have left them one dime.

His ruthless crushing of small town family owned businesses and downtowns remains unfortunate. He did nothing to give anything back philanthropically to the communities he vandalized.

Walmart allowed me and my less-than well-to-do family, along with other struggling families live in relative peace of mind knowing they have options. What's your real problem?

He was an incredible prick to his family. The only thing he “left” them was money.

say what you want about walmart, but I can't find a 2.5lb bag of frozen wild blueberries for $8 ANYWHERE else. But yes they are destroying small town America a little bit...I wish I had the money to always buy local, I'd do it in a heartbeat instead.

Like all FLW knockoffs, the house is rigid and inflexible. No allowance is made for personal items or furniture not designed by the architect, which being mostly built-in defies rearranging. The exterior however nestles into its footprint nicely and is not without charm… the dichotomy of the Prairie school of architecture. That being said Walmart is still a cancer on the American retail landscape.

The house was modest and also ugly. Certainly had a Walmart discount feel.
