As a roofer who never served in the armed forces but fully took advantage of Britain’s opportunities. I have to say what makes Britan great is men just like this guy. Thanks for your service
Wow 😮- ♥️☝️this comment ! I’m also from the UK, wanted to follow my grandad who was navy trou n trou , but I got involved with the wrong crowd ect - but I’ve always thanked any service man or woman, the sad part is, there always surprised which always saddens me.. thank you for all your service 🔥♥️🙏🫡
Top tier content here, Danny. Jon has touched on many shockingly overlooked subjects in this interview, that I feel could be invaluable to many young, or old veterans. As a uk veteran, I highly appreciate his points of view, thoughts & intelligence. Truly is an interesting bloke. Podcasts have certainly come a long way in terms of men opening up. Generally speaking, I think this could be perceived to be the “manly” way of getting “stuff off your chest” but, either way I applaud it 🤙🏼
Hey brother, big thank you for always being a professional and adding an outline and chapters to your video’s. It’s a small feature that goes a long way when listening back to the pods you do. Appreciate all your work.
Agree, it shows they care about the listening experience. I was watching a Jordan Peterson video about Carl Jung and the lion king the other day and it had all these graphs and charts illustrating the key ideas like Maslows hierarchy below the video, I’d never seen that before super cool
RU-vid on desktop sucks so much. If I power off PC without closing the browser tab, YT never saves my progress. The chapters help me figure out where I was last.
Yeah I feel like this is a detail that probably wouldn't take much time to add in for the editors, but immediately makes one podcast stand out compared to another
The fact that the interviewer asks the question and listens (rather than talking over etc) makes this extremely watchable. I really enjoyed this. Keep them coming! 👌
The British SAS (Special Air Service) is known as "22 SAS" because it traces its lineage back to the Second World War, specifically to No. 22 Special Air Service Regiment.
@@weebay6166 theres also 21 sas, 21 are a reserve unit based in london, 23 are reserves based in Birmingham, If memory serves 21 came from 21 Artists Rifles
Are you sure about this, during WW2 there were 1 SAS and 2 SAS with 3&4 being French and 5 being Belgian. 1 and 2 were disbanded post war and a reservist unit being 21 SAS was raised the numbers being in reference to both 1 and 2. When a fulltime unit was raised, it was called 22 SAS and a few years later a unit that was formerly MI9 was shifted over to being 23 SAS. There was no 22 back in WW2
@@Panda13572 apparently... 'The Special Air Service traces its origins to 1941 and the Second World War. It was reformed as part of the Territorial Army in 1947, named the 21st Special Air Service Regiment (Artists Rifles). The 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, which is part of the regular army, gained fame and recognition worldwide after its televised rescue of all but two of the hostages held during the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege....'
Non of this explains where 22 (usually spoken as two separate numbers) came from. I’d guess it was during the second WW when they were formed from the Long Range Desert Group) and maybe to give the impression there were more units than we could actually field. 21 and 23 again spoken as two, one and two, three are the TA (Territorial Army units made up from civilians and ex or retired 22) I’m not an expert by any description, but I have been at The Number One Parachute Training school at Brize alongside 21, and 23 lads learning static line while 22 lads have been learning aspects of HALO, and LALO, back in the 80’s a plumber or coal minor could turn up at one of the TA units and try out for selection. Which is in stark contrast to the way regular Battalions of the British army now send only their best and brightest to try out for selection with 22 SAS.
I'd love to see this guy and John Kiriakou chatting together on this podcast, hearing things from two different sides (military/intelligence) and from two different countries would be amazing
What an extremely intelligent guy. Extremely intelligent. 1:49:50 US audience will be interested at the research on psilocybin here in the UK. Prof Nutt is the lead investigator. Trials have shown it can reverse neuro degenerative disease such as PD. It’s being considered by NICE for clinical applications.
I’ve looked into this alot and there some great interviews on Jordan Peterson’s channel about the use of psychedelics to treat ptsd and addictions. John’s Hopkins is studying it as well. It’s very interesting stuff, I’ve talked to my doctor about ketamine but I would never trust the government to be part of that therapy in any way shape or form. That’s how we got Charles Manson lol
1:22:01 the pearls of wisdom he’s talking about here will save lives. A thorough life of experiences and he’s not afraid to tell you how to deal with the consequences of stress and anxieties that will afflict many people. And he exhibits humility all the way through the interview.
@@Targeting-Must-End You could be targeted by this technology. There is a worldwide program being conducted on a bunch of "nobodies". This is no conspiracy.
Danny, you rock! Thank you for this broadcast! I have followed you for a long time. Thank you for your guest too! Great topic. I was used, for 37 years, in the MKUltra and Super Soldier projects in the DUMBs stemming from Operation Paperclip.
Beware of spambots. 5 of them already, 5 mins after posting the video. They want you to click their channels and then hopefully some link posted there somewhere.
Dang gotta love the interruptions everytime he’s getting rolling on with his story. It’s like ok go back to this and the fella proceeds and then ok let’s go back to the same thing 🤣. It’s like damn let them people talk a bit bc we’re the one’s listening and I think I speak for most in wanting to just hear them out.
Bro, I think you're being suppressed by ytube and the algorithm. I haven't seen any of your videos posted for a while even tho I have all notifications on. Be safe my dude.
It is your end.. if you have 4 notifications on most phones, the 5th to 8th ones will usually replace those 4 older youtube bell alert boxes.... also, or it is after 8pm your time.. the notification settings silences at night time by default (you can change the times it silences at the very last mobile setting under youtubes notifications settings page)
Now this is a proper soldier. The internet is awash with so many SB hats gobbing off after 5 minutes in uniform giving it the SF big un and are an embarrassment and frankly cringe.
--Bravo Two Zero was the call sign of an eight-man British Army Special Air Service patrol, deployed into Iraq during the First Gulf War in January 1991-- Excellent film.
@@Abbale Go to the US military publication sandboxx and read the history of US special forces. Extract: “But America didn’t always have a potent special operations capability. And when it came time to create one, the U.S. military drew inspiration from a nation America has long kept close ties with: The United Kingdom. Despite the media attention garnered by American operators in recent years, the British are the pioneers of modern special operations. In fact, America’s main elite special mission units were modeled after British units; Delta Force after the Special Air Service (SAS), the Naval Special Warfare Development Group-formerly known as SEAL Team 6-from the Special Boat Service (SBS), and so forth.” You can google the subject and you’ll get loads more hits, confirming the same. Now which parallel universe did you get your source from?
that isn't the last phase, every one has their own opinion on which is worst....but most say Jungle. most fail 'hills phase' (about 75%) of those about 50% fail 'the trees' (jungle) very few fail any phase after that last phase is usually Para
Bro u need to tell all these military people to look into how child support is a business...i think it would help them not go psycho when they're wife cheat on them when they go "protect there country"
42:09 do they not remember missions bc they’re basically operating via an alter? Tiger woods, Tyson and child stars all talk about basically blacking out while performing and I have to conclude it’s the same process of disassociation. I wonder if he’s able to access that skill set while “normal” like if given an obstacle course the performance would be vastly different. This whole mk ultra / disassociation seems to be an explanation for a lot lately and it’d be a fascinating episode to hear someone openly talk about it. I’ve heard people even say it’s difficult for a lot of us to remember lock down bc it was so traumatic. Considering we’re all basically being subjecting to repeated trauma via the news cycle and lord knows what they have planned before November I’d really like to hear more about how people can prepare themselves to be more resilient mentally without going full Goggins or Britney Spears
Canada has strict firearm ownership laws. However, it isn’t impossible to own firearms. Most people I know have many different calibres of rifles. The difficult area is when it comes to handguns. The ownership around handguns is a lot more strict
This interview shows you starkly why the Uk have still got the best infantry and special forces in the world. If I have to spell it out in monkey language, Danny’s native tongue it would be impossible
This fella is very different to many of the SAS guys,( which is logical because the Unit is made up of all kinds)but he has this very analytical, understated, thoughtful, introspective and unassuming manner..
bro when he said young kids getting into conspiracy theories is a big problem i immediately knew i can’t trust any controversial analysis from this man lol smart guy overall but military men tend to be brainwashed to trust the system they fight for
Interesting jon but when you went into the bone muscle tech you went into uni chat and very confusing to say this body suit could make you stronger and fitter for 20min, not all of us have your medical education. Good luck in your new field 🇬🇧
Please do a podcast with Mudfossil University! He has agreed and said I need to get you to contact him! Everyone help me get Danny’s attention! This will be an amazing collaboration
ive had cybertortureware done to me, i started life as IOM KWC MOD funded college family. I'm old, in my younger years I manned AM radio, without a seven second delay. I'm over 60, I can still walk & I don't look too bad naked, would you like a picture? 5'4", 118#'s! I'm so glad I'M STILL HERE!
I think this channel has to invite some more interesting guests soon. The last one was a while ago and I think the views speak for themselves. Anyone agree?
I feel like both of these guys have been given suggestions for benefiting military recruitment. But the two styles contradict each other. Guest wants to show how wide of scope the British military is, while the host wants to relate to young people considering joining. Hopefully there are fewer naive kids like I was
Yes... similar to the Brits, us Canadian neighbors are so close to America that if they are going to war, we will be along with them so I often keep an eye on their events, decisions and politics as a result cuz it directly effects us too!! I just really hope we can keep the peace and try to make our moves based off of well thought out plans when dealing with the rest of the world!! 🙏💯🇨🇦🇺🇸❤️🤞🤞 That said, this is why I feel a little bit concerned with Trump's re-election!! I truly hope that he will make rational choices if he wins!! Guess we will see pretty soon!! Lol!! 🤔🤷♀️
Lol, you worry about Trump? When literally the current admin has the world on the brink of nuclear destruction? Lol, just keep your eyes north of the border then and stay outta our business.
im not hearing him give an answer to the "tier / comparable" forces question. *paused the vid early. basically it's like: U.S.: Tier 1 Unit = Delta Force / Seal Team 6 etc Eng: Tier 1 Unit = SAS / SBS U.S. also has "Tier 2 Units" like Green Berets, Seals, P.J.s etc U.S. & Eng also have supporting elite elements like the U.S. Army Rangers, Marine Recon / Marine Raiders.. and Eng has their Paratrooper dudes...
@@palatialpetals nah.. the top tier guys from multiple countries train together etc.. the U.S. has the most money to throw at their top guys.. so that alone would be the scale tipper
