Nice to see your passion with the Jimny. I had the Torqit exhaust and air box all paid for and awaiting delivery. I was as excited as a kid the night before Christmas until I spoke with a few owners and a seller that said steer well clear it's garbage. Lucky for me I received a refund, a few $k back in the build wallet. Wasn't easy getting the money back after cancelling the orders but luck was on my side cause there was a 6 month wait on the exhaust and a few months on the air box. I'm so glad I had some first hand experience guiding me to avoid throwing big bucks away on vanity. Infact that money I saved payed for the long ranger 80ltr fuel tank which imo is a must on these thirsty modified mountain goats. Thinks twice about that air box! Buy a winch instead. ✅ The snorkel looks dope but doesn't change the wading depth of the Jimny, still it's nice to get clean air up high.
I get you mate , I've changed plans with mine also due to the same advice, I'm going for another brand instead , along with a bullet airbox .. with the stuff I have, I'm getting mighty close to gvm
I've added 165 so far ,once the gvm is done , and I've loaded it up ill have 355kg back again , I've worked out with the boys at ajl in burnie ill run stock rims , i'll a couple sizes up in tyre after that..
@@monkeymachine62 yeah awesome, I run the stock alloy rims with 235/75r15s or 29inch whichever way you prefer it. That's with a 40 mil old man emu lift and goes still pretty good on the highways and way better offroad and the bigger tyres only up the fuel usage from 8-10 litres per 100 klms. I do want to go up to 31s or even 33s but that would mean taking off the front bumper and replacing and changing some gear ratios to better accommodate. But I'm not interested in that right now cause it's still both my daily and 4x4. Are you saying you're actually getting a update gvm compliance plate for your rig, I got one for adding the long ranger fuel tank and that cost $660 just for the new plate let alone the tank and its installation. Hey also those map pockets on the doors, you added some extensions on them with cup holders built in. How are those for holding your water bottles etc, I've got nothing to put drinks in as I've added centre console for storage and a bit of long drive comfort which has left me with nothing for drink holders. It awesome seeing your build and what your ideas are, their a bloody addiction because of their potential straight off the factory floor. I've had this GME 370 uhf I bought a year ago and finally started to fit it in, bloody problem is the antenna mount from TLR fits on the rear door bottom hinge but once fitted the base spring is actually on the door paint work! Bloody $60 bracket and they laser cut and powder coated but it doesn't come out far enough to allow space so you'd scratch up that back door viciously. I need find someone that can extend it by cutting and re-welding then I can finally get some coms up and running. Do you know anyone in Burnie can get that done for me? Anyway brother keep the vids coming, I knew a guy stayed with 12 views and within 12 months had 11k in followers.
hey man sorry for the delay , ive taken a break on the jimny as im waiting on my engineer to sign everything off , ill have a few vids in the pipeline in the next few weeks , as vie fitted the long ranger, esc controller , gvm upgrade and a few other bits i don't want to let out of the bag yet :} . yeah i ended up going with a front runner uhf one on my roof rack i didn't like the idea of the ariel chipping my paint .. i ran the uhf cable up the left of he windscreen and the roof lights up the right , its nearly invisible . i could cut and weld that for you no issue mate ill pm you . thanks man i plan too ..
