17:08 The 2 active (balanced) pins in XLR are "hot & cold" or "positive & negative phase". Connecting L&R to these causes phase cancellation, resulting in only the "out of phase" (effects and panned) signals being heard. Hence the need for the converter box to mix the L&R from the 3.5mm headphone plug into a complete mono signal which is mirrored on the XLR output.
Despite have a small home studio, I continue to watch your content to get ideas for my setup. Nothing has come to mind yet but I appreciate the inspiration.
Great video. I absolutely love the Allen & Heath SQ6 I got for our community theatre, and I want to get one for the arts centre I work at, to use as something more portable than the 700kg Midas Pro 2. I love that whiteboard tv too! Thats really vool and works well!
XLR Pinout is wrong explained in 17:06. Tip 1 is Normal Signal, Tip 2 is inversed for Symmetric Signal. That way interferences get filtered out. Tip 3 is Shield
Glad to see another super informative video. I'm still figuring out Atem mini extreme iso, hoping to use it at its fullest soon. 2022 is going to be as you expected! Lots of corporate shots ahead!
Great job on the informative video. There is so much tech out there and it’s hard to keep up with it all. Thank you for passing along your knowledge. Do you recommend any trade websites that is a good resource for Audio / visual and streaming for large events.
Is there a link/product name to that ethercon cable you had on your table when you were showing the CAT Box @20:49? I'm looking for a 75ft flexible ethercon cable. That cable seemed flexible like an XLR cable.
I’m ears monitors or lav mic with receiver setup if you get the correct adapters. Reliable wireless. If you have to pull audio from video you could do wireless video and then a de-embedder to extract audio from the video and feed into audio board
Kkj
