The afternoon shoot with the Savage factory barrel. Public lands towns have been hammered hard & the dog days of summer are here. time to take a break.
That pronghorn was like hey man I'm just here for the show... LOL I've never hunted them before but it's on my to do list. Good shooting and great video brother just subbed!!!
Hi have a CZ527 22" 1:9 twist. Had good luck with bullets a bit longer. As a "Deer Bullet" the 65gr Sierra Gameking SBT is awesome. For varmints I am hoping to develop a load with 60gr Sierra Tipped Match Kings or Nosler Ballistic Tips. Both should have weight and BC to buck wind (much as you can with .223 Rem) and hopefully have the speed to open up.
I still say!, They should've kept the old 222rem mag,,Witch is the 204r with the 22 bullet instead of 20 bullet,,That was a great groundhog bullet,,coyote bullet,,etc,
My wife and I both use Ruger Precision 17 HMR, worst day on our local prairie dog town was about half a dozen (each of us) best was about 70 (each) for a total of about 140. (prairie dogs exterminated) Last year we probably eliminated over 2000+ dogs. (not exaggerating). I have personally witnessed my wife shooting a dog at 209 yards. (range finder) I have shot them beyond that (17 HMR). I drag out the 22-250 once in a while when range exceeds 250. (yards) I never reload, every we round we shoot is factory ammo........
Yesterday, (7-19-'21) I was using 38 grain HP Winchester, couldn't seem to hit a damn thing.....Probably got 3 or 4 dogs out of about 40 rounds. Wind was pretty high too......
I have not even had a chance to go out this year. Out season closes end of march and opens july 1. But its been so dry here in az we have been on shooting lockdown state wide unless at a range. Maybe population will grow a bit since no one was able to go.
Grass fed {not sage} they are the best wild game I have ever tasted. Our season is early, It is the why I started to bone big game on the spot, back pack it out & get it on ice.
@@cavedweller1959 gotcha. We dont have pd's in scotland. Rabbits by the millions. They never seem to wise up. They get skittish but, leave em a week or two and they forget.
Wow there’s acctually a season on the rats? In pa it’s all year you can shoot ground hogs open season but we always give the youngsters a chance so usually we hit em first of July and stop in fall
