Haha - you put the Louis Rossmann quote: "I hope you learned something" at the end of your video! - Man, Louis is becoming a cultural icon here on youtube!
Such great videos mate. Really enjoy the pace and the way you explain as you pick. Keep up the great work. Going to buy that tool set next week when I get payed. From Queensland, Australia.
i never got a chance to win anything from you but to me it's okay course i anjoy every video you show and you always amaze me with how smooth you are with picking Lock's love it 100 prisent thank you i learn alot from just whaching your videos 👍
Very "potentially" impressive lock.🤔🤔🔐👍 It does remind me of the karate kid every time I look at the design on the face of it 😂😂😉😎 Thanks for sharing again 👍👍👍
One of the best channels on YT... I've picked up alot of info on locks. Keep up the great vids. Two question on these cobras; how's the metal, and how about their other locks? THX
Awesome, lol! We have a similar lock here in the UK but it has an octagonal post and much less clearance around the edge, so you can't get a 'standard' tubular pick in at all.
You can see that their heart was in the right place, but the execution wasn't quite there. In any case, replacing the core is easy enough and can make this lock formidable.
Another great informative vid I do appreciate very much the inside you present and taking time to explain etc. and I also like how the format is consistent and uniform thanks lpl where abouts in the states are you from? I've got family over there thanks lpl
There's someone on Ebay selling these locks with Abloy cores. I can't tell from the photos exactly what model the core is, but it's definitely an Abloy disc detainer core. And it's only $51 with free shipping. Gonna be hard to find a better puck lock than that.
+technosasquatchfilms I've found that using them on locks that have a cam attached to the back with any kind of pressure on it makes them really difficult to use. Easier to spp it one time and turn it just a tad where it isn't locked then you can impression it and open it the rest of the way.
I simply cant make it work. I ordered the exact set that you have. I push and twist as you demonstrated on a couple of tubular locks and I get nothing. Of course, I’m no LPL, but you’d think I’d get lucky at least once.
The octagonal inner security feature sounds like it might be a lie to trick customers into feeling more secure. Is there any chance you could get the informaion from the special key or your impressioning tool to get a duplicate key made from a normal blank, so that you can test your theory. If normal keys work, then the key control is an illusion that you should probably call out. But it is possible that the normal key looks like it would work, but there is something in the design that stops it working.
To the lock picking lawyer Just received my huk kit, older style like yours with the tension bar, my question is my 7.8 and 7.5 seem to not fit in the keyway/groove. Have u ever seen the tooling of these picks being off before? If I press any harder into the lock I'm going to either damage the pick, needles, or score the hell out of it, I believe when they made my kit, it maybe out of spec, like the machining or tooling is off, idk I'm stuck lol
Just wondering if you where able to get that 7.8 to work? I ordered the set to open up my (deceased) grandfather's tool box and I still can't open it. I've checked with local locksmiths...no help. I'm lost and REALLY want to keep this for my son. Any suggestions anyone???
@@jusmejohnson little late.. are you sure the lock has a need for tension bar? If it has 2 notches, you need that tension rod installed. If it only has one notch on lock then you can’t use tension rod s as no u need to remove it
Very, Very great video! One of the best I've seen! Can you give me the link and exact details of the this set from DHGate that have the tension bars please?
I think the reason is cuz the notch on the ring that turns the core isn't there unless I'm mistaken the faceted shape is to turn the lock rather than the tiny notch( possibly?)
@lockpickinglawyer Ok, where can I get the alternative cores that you mentioned for this Cobra Puck Lock. What is the model number of the Cobra Puck Lock?
i just watched a 30+ minute video of some guy fumbling his way to explain what you did in the first 4 minutes... i should have known to come to the LPL first.
T-handles are commonly found on drink vending machines like coca cola. you turn the key and a t shaped handle pops out of its recess and allows you to unscrew the front door of the vending machine.
Hey are you still responding to old videos like this? I am looking for 2 good puck lucks for my work van. Been a long time subscriber and ran across this video. I was going to pick up the cobra on your review of it, but would like to replace the core with something good. What is a good one these days to replace it with and where can I buy them at? Thanks in advance Mike
Excellent tutorial on setting the tool up too. The Chinese instructions on mine aren’t all that helpful and Google translate isn’t much help. Maybe I’ll give them to my missus to decode the text.
This set is "HUK" brand. I have the Goso set as well... they never come out for two reasons. First, the sizing of the Goso tips is a tad off; the HUK set fits into more keyways more smoothly. Second, and just as importantly, these work much, much better... no comparison IMO. FWIW, I have a Klom tool also. The HUK works better than that one also.
I need 4 puck locks keyed alike for an enclosed trailer I just bought. What lock do you recomend? There's 4 of these on ebay for 157.30 + 8.05 shipping. Where could I get these replacement cores your talking about and how expensive are they?
Maybe as good as some Abloy locks. I don't have that many Abloy locks, so it's hard for me to generalize. I have a 362 (a truly bada$$ lock) in which the protec core is set deeply into the lock. I'd have to imagine that adds an extra element of protection from physical attacks. But for practical/normal purposes, I'd imagine the security provided by the Cobra/Abloy combination is pretty darned good.
Does anyone know the model or part number of this Tubar dual-side bar lock with eight sliders that he installed in that puck lock? I like to order some but can't seem to locate them online.
+LockPickingLawyer yes the MARS dimple lock did suck but I had one that suck more a Chinese lock that only had 3 pins and can be opened with a paper clip and the core cracked with a Bobby pin
It seems that the detente is only spring loaded. So, could it be possible to design a shim for this kind of locks ? Some kind of hook made of thin sheet metal.
it depends on the lock. some are spring loaded, but only when the key is in and turned. the Abloy plug latch doesn't have any angle at the end. so the pin goes well inside the hole and is unable to be shimmed.
some you may have to shave down a bit so they clear the hole and allow the plug to come out. but also note there are a few different holes for different plug types. make sure you're using the right hole on the bible..
the lock cylinder has its own retracting pin. the grub screw is just to prevent the whole lock housing from falling out once the proper key is used and the shackle is retracted, it doesn't provide security.
I did see the set on a couple of those sites but when I read the comments people state that the tension bars are not included nor are the tools machined to accept one. That's why I ask where you got yours because obviously yours have the tension bar inside. If you want to get rid of your Huk set sell it to me. I can PayPal you the money. I trust you over sketchy type websites
It used to be that they all had that little bar... now it's hit or miss. I know that ones I got from Banggood had them.. but 3 weeks later, they were shipping products without them. ...a craps shoot, apparently.
Thanks a lot lock pick a lawyer!!! I gave this a thumbs down because in one of your videos that I saw I got to see the hock seven pen set in action I like it so much that I clicked on your link in the video and it took me straight to the website where I didn't bother to look at any of the scription and I want to head and paid for these pit locks. I get them to weeks later And I pull out of the package not hook but a brand called DANIU. I open them up they look identical to the ones in the video and on hooks website except for there's no tension wrench pan. There's not even a place to put one. Now it's just a paperweight unless I can figure out someway to modify it myself. Thanks a lot I won't be trusting anybody on RU-vid for a long time.
Hello 👋 Mr. LockPickingLawyer, I loved this video, but I have a few questions. I sent to your Gmail account my question. Could you please check your Gmail account to clarify a few things? Thank you - JC
