This channel aims to educate consumers about weaknesses and defects in security devices so they can make better security decisions. It should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: do not use any of the information presented in my videos for illegal purposes.

Please note that I do not recommend locks, nor do I provide assistance in opening them. For advice getting started in locksport, I recommend the “University” at LockLab.com. For all other inquiries, email me (channel name at gmail). One final note - I usually receive over one hundred emails each day, and though I spend a couple hours a day answering emails, I can’t answer them all. Apologies in advance if your email is one that slips through the cracks.
couple of folks at my engineering college took the "outrun someone else" approach and built their own recumbent bikes. Nobody steals them 'cause nobody can ride them lol.
The chain they make that's the next size up from this is called the "Fuhgeddaboutit" chain - it's guaranteed to stop the mob from stealing your motorcycle in New Jersey.
1:48 I'm a talented beginner lock-picker, and I usually open a Chinese discus lock like that one in a few seconds, even with 5 pins and 2 zero-lift pins. (I pick locks for good, not evil)
Re: Ginder wheel accidents: There was someone at work that had his face shield on. A big chunk of the wheel broke and embedded into his shield next to his eye. If he didn't have that on, he would've been blind and/or dead.
I just bought one of these at an estate sale. I was hoping there would be a reset button accessible from the outside but this model does not appear to utilize one from what I've seen. Do I need to get any particular type of cross lock key to open it? I see a few locks available on eBay that come with cl keys. Is there a way to open it with a traditional lock pick setup?
3:00 your lock picking tool is so dam cool. I love that it has the measurements on it, and that you can pick through the tension instead of some other ridiculous setup
Kryptonite has to make a new package design with big letters that says: *LPL:* "This bike lock _IS_ what students bring to school in New York city if they want their bike to be there when they get back"
*DepCom Sheppard:* This is now what children bring to school. You should not bring this to campuses and universities. *LPL:* I wish Sheppard was right, but this bike lock _IS_ what students bring to school in New York city if they want their bike to be there when they get back What high praise! Kryptonite stonks goes brrrrrr!
Lesson learned from this event: It would probably had been easier to cut the side of the push bar that the chain was wrapped around. They are typically made of a much softer metal than the chain or lock. So what if the university has to replace the push bar. There’s already plenty of damage, what’s a little bit more.
If you’re ever looking to do something to break up monotony, I’d like to see your take on government officials talking about guns. I know you are somewhat of a gun safety aficionado. I’ve seen several clips of ‘experts’ saying the craziest things concerning guns and gun safety. For example, calling semi-automatic rifles automatic and advocating for gun locks and boxes that you have shown to be inferior products. Bringing Bill out of retirement to do a shooting series would be really cool! Looks like you had a lot of fun the last time you two got together and shot locks. Just sayin…
