B&K Construction Co, LLC of Mandeville, Louisiana was awarded contract for a $45.5 million project for storm channel improvements in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The 130-ton (117-mt) 228 HSL drives 14 in. (35.5 cm) pre-stressed concrete pile for the foundation of canal floor and walls. Hammer and leads for the 228 HSL are 35,900 lbs. (16 283 kg) rigged while the crane hoisted its load at a 72 degree boom angle.
