Woah, this is crazy, I made this video just for fun two years ago and a month ago it was only on 30 000.. I don't know why this video blew up but hey, it's cool. I'd like to mention that when I made this video I had totally missed out on Jamie Foxx being an artist, so I apologize for that mistake that people have been pointing out. I'd also like to mention that the title isn't "23 actors you didn't know could sing", as lots of people seem to think. And I'm defending myself to the people who say that some of these have been in musicals which means it's obvious that they can sing by saying that I'm not a fan of musicals, I don't really watch musicals, and there are lots of people who don't. These are sort of my personal pick of my favourite actors, and once again, I made it just for fun, so I'm not going to apologize to the people whining about which actors I have missed. Obviously, I know there are more actors who can sing. This is just for fun guys. I delete hateful comments and unfortunately, there are a lot of those. Thanks for watching and have a good day. Ps. Yeah, we need an Avengers: The Musical.
So very true. That's why, if you're making a film, ALWAYS hire an actor even though he/she can't sing. Let them lip sync if necessary. You'll still get a MUCH greater performance than from a singer who can't act.
I'm kinda glad, he is not. He isn't a singing actor. He does both things too well and too often to be considered a singing actor or an acting musician. He's... A singtor? An actician?
Fun to see them all showing another side of their talents! Ewan MacGregor is another amazing voice that deserves to be on this list. Who can forget Moulin Rouge?
@@mrwoody1413 James McAvoy is actually Scottish, with quite a thick accent. That said, most singers are trained to sing with different inflections/accents/diction.
It’s an accent to you guys; Americans. To us Australians, you have a very T H I C K accent. Everyone has a different accent. But I obviously know where you’re coming from lol
Jeremy Renner surprised me with how great his voice is. Jamie Foxx is obvious to the point that he didn't have to be mentioned. He's too damn talented.
The Haven autotune no doubt about it with Jeremy. However actors usually have really good voice control. They go vocal warm ups and practice all the time.
Anna Kendrick started out as a child in Broadway musicals so she wasn't an actor turned singer, she did both from the beginning. She was nominated for a Tony at 12 years old for the musical High Society and was in the 2003 New York City Opera production of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music.
True, but as rarely as they are able to display their full range of talents, it is still somewhat surprising to see the parts you've never seen before.
If U apply do Theatre Academy, to became a Real actor with a degree, u have to know how to Sing, act and dance. Like this person said, the whole package 😊
Lots of actors with amazing musical talents are missing from the list. Bruce Willis (vocals and harmonica), Hugh Laurie (vocals and piano), Steven Seagal (vocals and guitar) Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon in "Walk the Line", just to name a few more.
I thought Amanda’s voice was horrible in Les Miserables. She easily had the worst voice of all of them. Cosette is an extremely hard part to sing though, so I don’t completely blame her
Hugh’s voice is absolutely fantastic. If you haven’t yet, watch The Greatest Showman. It’s a wonderful musical, with some fantastic music. Hugh absolutely kills it in that movie.
Robert Pattinson, whoa. That dude has a great voice. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a nice surprise too. I've seen Jeremy Renner sing before, so no surprise there, but damn, he's got a some pipes.
Amanda Seyfried: Les Miserables and Mamma Mia Hugh Jackman: Les Miserables and the Greatest Showman Anne Hathaway: Les Miserables Eddie Redmayne: Les Miserables Kristen Bell: Frozen and Encore Emily Blunt: Into the Woods and Mary Poppins returns
Talent and creativity usually comes in full packages, it's not surprising that people who are really good at acting are good at other talents that fall under the creative process. Tom Cruise was a surprise though, I didn't think he could sing that good. Great video.
A lot of younger Shameless fans don’t know that Fiona aka Emmy Rossum is classically trained and starred in Phantom of The Opera. Adam Driver has an excellent voice too that I didn’t know was that good until Wedding Story.
Anyone who grew up in the 1970s remembers Kate Hudson's father, Bill, from the Hudson Brothers Band. Even if she had little to no interactions with him, he was talented and came from a family of talent. Goldie Hawn can sing as well, when she's not doing the 'dityz blond' routine.
We tend to forget how many of these actors were once struggling theatre actors who could “do it all.” So much talent goes hidden once they become big stars.
I admire Robert Pattinson's accent. I mean, he's english and i seriously thought that he's american in twilight😂 and now here i am, listening to him singing in southern accent🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOL. @4:41, Oscar Isaac is singing the Star Wars song Bill Murray sang on Saturday Night Live in 1978. Gold star for the hilarious & obscure reference.
I believe Anne’s mom toured with a musical company when Anne was small and Anne went along. . .she cut her teeth as a child on musical comedy and frequently astonished her mom with her talent. She comes by it naturally
@@brooped : I think it's because so many actors, nowadays, went immediately into film and had no stage experience. AND, so many American actors never went to college and majored in Drama so that they had to learn how to dance, sing, and act. If you look at British and Australian actors, you'll find that's not the case; they actually got professional training.
