Nice list, I would add that #8 isn't entirely correct. Instead of selling Golden Runes, just click "Use Selected" and you can use them all at once. Much quicker.
@@AussieBushrangers I agree with the video. Selling the runes is much faster if you have several different type of runes to sell. Don't have to reopen inventory multiple times.
@@grayaj23 the fact that that you don't even need to go to a vender at all and just "Use Selected" to gain all runes in one go seems a better option in my opinion.
You don’t have to sell your runes to use them all at one time, just use the use selected option and select the full amount and it will apply them all at one time
The tip on knowing when to back out of a boss fight and instead take your time to strengthen your character is spot on. It can be hard to admit defeat but sometimes backing out, leveling up and coming back to absolutely ragdoll a boss that previously was kicking your ass is extremely satisfying!
I typically stick to a boss if I think I can take it... If I'm getting obliterated every time then I'll go somewhere else and come back to that boss, but if I'm getting it down to 1/3 or lower before dying I'll typically stick with it until I do manage and it's not normally that many attempts considering how many attempts certain dark souls bosses have made me attempt.
Yeah same with caelid . I went in there way to early and just was getting one shot by everything and it was a complete slog. Eventually I ran away and spent more time in limgrave and lurinia. Came back at higher level and it was a much more manageable experience
I don't know if he mentioned it but while attacking from your horse it looks like a one handed attack But if you switch to 2 hands before mounting it will still give you the boosted damage despite looking like a single handed attack
Tip 24 : If you have a large amount of runes, before you go into a Catacomb, Cave or Boss Area etc try to spend all your runes first so if you die you don't lose anything and you don't need to use one of your twigs. Great Video

As someone who is also 400 hours + into the game I highly agree with using your ash summons or friends joining you, especially if it’s your first play through, there’s nothing wrong with using what developers worked so hard to implement in, the elitist can say what they want, at the end of the day they’re subjecting themselves to hours and hours of gameplay just to beat one boss in the most masochistic way possible just to get absolutely wrecked by the “casual” who decided to play with his pro buddies
Great comment. How ever, both my brother and myself are playing this for the first time and we are constantly getting invaded and slaughter by random dickheads. I have played and beat both Bloodbourne and Sekiro but my brother is just trying to used to these games for the first time. I know there isn’t a way but I wish there was an option to stop invaders.
@@bigjoker6905 you can use the white rings that they sell at the round table to summon hunters that’ll kill invaders or you can just try summoning near bosses to avoid invaders all together, I still have the same trouble when I play with my friends who are lower leveled but luckily they scale to them lol

One tip I have to offer is that if you visit a cave or dungeon and activate the Grace but don’t want to do it just yet, or have difficulty with the boss, you can place a circular icon marker (not the singular ray of light marker) on top of the Grace to provide a visual indicator on your map that you haven’t completed it so that you know which areas to return to later, then just remove it once you do complete it. The reason for doing it this way rather than putting a mark for completion is because you are limited to 100 marks and you might eventually run out.
I sat at a site of grace for the beastman's cave but didn't venture further cause the wolves had me worried. Came back a week later and had a easy time with the boss. Great tip.
@@DuvalRypr There should be a marking system, I think it's the a or x button? What you need to do is look at the bottom of your screen, they should explain which features you mark your map on.
Do you know that you can actually favourite a site of grace with a star? I did it by mistake but it is useful if you need to remember which ones to go back to.
Another very important bit of info is that EVERY SINGLE ruins area in the game has an underground portion, some have bosses down there, others just a chest, but many of the best talismans in the game can be found in these underground rooms so be sure to look for the staircase leading down in all of them!
Some of them are hidden, only able to be seen after hitting what looks like a normal wall. I'm guessing anyway. Last night I learned for the first time that they have trick walls so I'm wondering how much stuff I've missed. @@mfrebel7831

Kinda late here, but as an avid PC player, I very much believe that these games are best played with a controller. Most games kbm is better, but holy shit the level of simplicity and control (no pun intended) that controllers give is unreal. Genuinely made the game so much smoother
The single best thing they did to Elden Ring was put a checkpoint, that’s separate from your bonfire, at the boss or difficult area. So now I can focus on boss tactics than wasting 1/3 of my flasks getting to a boss.
Even better would be if when losing a boss fight, your runes were left outside the boss room. Lies of P does this and it does not make bosses any easier! Just makes the game less frustrating.
@@OrangeNash this is a real pain! The workaround is to commence the boss fight, grab your runes and quit out. You should appear outside of the boss arena with your runes, freeing you up to come back later when you’re ready.
@@GreatJoey91you mean grab your dropped runes from the boss arena and then quit the game? Haven't thought of that. I'm gonna test it with a small amount of runes and various amounts of time in boss arenas. If this works, you'll have helped a noob big time.

All players make a mistake of not coming back to the church to get the bell. The wolf really helps to make the game much easier early on for you to explore and farm.
I only went back to that church by an random urge to clear all of that merchants voice lines in case I missed something. Another tip, dont sell your items like weapons and gear. They dont affect carry weight at all like other games do (skyrim). Think as if you are collecting them. Your weight only matters for your equipped items aka weapon and armor. Another thing, dont distribute your levels too much, choose like 4 skills to level and stick to them in early game or else you will make it harder for yourself to move forward in the game. Another thing, upgrading your weapon with smithing stones give you a way higher powerspike then leveling up your character levels so its good to find a weapon you like and try to upgrade as fast as possible to take advantage of the powerspike.
This one i wished i knew when i started, i kept the strongest armor i had and sold the others... but then equip load kicked in and then I was screwed for a while lol
Holding onto weapons and gear doesn't accomplish anything other than feeding a hoarding habit, unless you're thinking that way down the road you might need this or that item. It's better to just fall into love with a weapon / gear, level it up and sell the rest.
For Fia, accept the cuddle. It's a very cool questline, just make sure you don't progress it too early. I always immediately remove the blessing by using it in the inventory, it's not worth the HP loss. If you're going to do a boss, just head back and get another before, there's usually a close by site of grace.
Don't know everyone says this but you do not have to go specifically to the stormveil gatefront site of grace to get Torrent. You have to unlock and sit at any 3 sites of grace on the surface world (not the underground ones), and she will appear when you unlocked the 3rd one, wherever it is. I go to the site of grace to the south (after unlocking the initial and the church of Ellah) that is just past where Yuri (Yura?) tells you about the dragon in the lake.
That tip on dodging applies to all the Dark Souls games and Bloodborne. You always want to dodge into attacks, not away from them. Most of the enemies and bosses were designed this way to give you perfect chances critical hits by doing this or put you directly on their back.

Had no idea about 2-handing lowering the strength requirement! With the smithing stones, I’d really advise that everyone choose the use of their ancient dragon smithing stones wisely and use them based on what 2-3 play styles you like. Max out your favorite weapons in each build respectively because there are only a finite amount before getting to NG+ and even after that you won’t get access to more for a long long time

#16: If you plan to stop leveling at a specific level, as many people do (so they have more PvP options, for example), then your starting class is important. You can never respec the stats your class starts with, only the new ones. You should figure out which stats will be most important to your character, and pick the class with the highest sum for those stats (and if the starting level for the class is below 10, add 1 stat point for every level below 10 they start with: i.e. Astrologer starts at level 6, so figure out the sum of their stats and then add 4).
The Fume Knight taught me the value of knowing which way to dodge an attack. When his FUGS starts glowing you HAVE to dodge into it. It has too much reach, moves too slow and in a over 180 degree arc so dodging back or away from it would always get you caught as soon as you came out of a roll. I had to drill that into myself because its easy to start panicking and just trying to roll away but you gotta stay cool and dodge the right way. Easier said than done sometimes though.
I think "not gathering sacred tears" isn't the mistake. Its more like "not using sacred tears." I remember I hoarded a lot of those because I never noticed the "flask" option when resting on a grace point lets you use them.

RE: Glowing Skulls Golden Runes can be used in any number from the inventory screen. Very useful when you're a few runs short of the next level and about to enter a dangerous area.
A mistake I made with the runes was selling/using them before I needed them! The great thing about golden runes is that they stay in your inventory when you die. Basically banked, easy to grab runes. In this, early on get every resource you can bc you can sell those in merchants for runes, as well!
One thing about tip #16, the starting class doesnt matter if you want to play only pve. But if you want to play pvp, you will most likely have to stop at a certain level, because you can play only against same-ish level players. This means that if you want an active pvp experience, you have to stop leveling at some point (the most active endgame levels are between 125 and 150). You can respec your stats, but you will be stuck with the ones from the starting class and can reallocate only the level points that you have manually put into stats through leveling up. That means if you start for example with high intelligence and later want to pvp with pure strengh build, you will be stuck with the starting (for your build) useless intelligence points, that could have been in your strengh, vigor, etc.
The quest lockout pain is real - the 3 things you are locked out of are the same for me, and I haven’t even burned the tree yet, thinking that was the big lockout event. Word to the wise, don’t speed thru ranni’s quest or it will lock out dung eater summon (you need seluvius alive to unlock) also killing the big blood boss (Morg, or however you spell it) before getting the white mask, because for whatever reason u won’t be invaded if you do. I spent dozens of hours farming that damn bird, not realizing that all the while that item was waiting for me down there. Then I killed the boss, saw a video on that cool item, and learned it was lost to me. Typical From, it almost makes me love them More:)
Also not finishing the dialog for the lady that gives you the jellyfish summon, you can just never upgrade your summons, as far as I'm aware. I tried doing the thing to reset aggression, but it didn't work. Now I just feel fucked. A level one summon is not effective against fire giant
True. But once u git gud and become maidenful like me. You can beat the game in like a hour or so... Some late game bosses might kill you a few times... but hey it's a rng game and you can't dodge every attack... Good luck and don't panic : ) Or at least try not to lulz. Some of the freaky stuff in the game freaks me out...
New player here, the tips are certainly very useful! One question i have is that how do i ensure that with this open world game i am not locked out of any items at all, ? Any quick tips?
Some more tips regarding Rune Arcs: 1) You can get them from successful invasions into other players' worlds. 2) If you're more of a PvE player, get your discovery up (Arcane stat/Silver birb leg/Silver Scarab) and go farm rats - in Castle Morne or somewhere else where are lots of them and a convenient Site of Grace nearby for respawning them. 3) Don't use Rune Arc if you have a lot of acrobatics ahead of you - especially climbing them Divine Towers, fall damage is the hardest boss in this game, Malenia isn't even anywhere close. And, for the love of Marika, don't waste your Starlight Shards! You can use them as a currency with one certain NPC in mid-late game.
Locking yourself out of items is such a pain. I’ve done it with Millicent’s, Nepheli’s, Varre’s and Dung Eater’s - also Boggart’s because I went to Volcano Manor and completed Ray’s quest line before I remembered to go back to it….nightmare
My biggest problem was not using great runes, I had godricks equipped, but never actually made it active, I had so many rune arcs just built up by the end of the game
@@idontwantahandlethough I am a future person. 10 days in the future according to the time stamp on your post. And now I am aware. I thank you, Tarnished.
It’s a big mistake to rune farm in early areas while over-leveled. Farming similarly scaled enemies yields more efficient rune gain, and cut hours off a play-through.
I've finished every soulsborne game and defeated almost every boss (f**k midir and chalice dungeons), but I still panic roll like crazy. you would think that hundreds of hours in those games would've taught me not to, but here I am, still rolling away and getting smashed regularly. I just can't get it out of my system lol.
I am so grateful for RU-vid and content creators. Made it all the way to the Elden Beast and was able to avoid all of the mistakes mentioned during my entire gameplay, thanks to you guys. It wasn’t a perfect run-through, I’ve died more in this game than I could’ve possibly imagined but a success in gameplay 100% ✊🏽♥️
Dont know if anyone mentioned this in the comments but, if you die and are worried about not being able to make it back to your rune drop. You can equip a sacrificial twig and if you die before you pick up your runes, they will not disappear and you can get another chance to pick them up.
The Baldachin's blessing thing i definitely didnt know about the drain on HP thanks man! ive got like 20hrs in and finally beat Margit lol probably gonna take me forever to beat Godrick. definitely a plus being open world compared to the dark souls games which were much harder than this game and didnt really give you much of an alternative if you couldn't beat a main boss.
Guilty of missing Ranni for the 3 wolves and summoning bell, this would have helped alot at the start. Also I was guilty of frantic rolling to begin with, though I did learn to stop doing this. I agree with rolling towards an enemy, learnt the hard way with rolling away or to the side. Or you can simply run round to the back of the enemy and attack, this is simple to do when locked on to an enemy. Some bosses turn slow where you can take full advantage of this. Others turn much quicker and may not be as viable, though regardless, this has helped many a fight!
Also, I'm just realising I have missed a few other things. I missed D's quests with defeating Godrick, I missed Blaidds quest with starting Ranni's quest. I missed Preceptors quest by handing the knife to Ranni. I missed the final part of the White Mask with defeating Mogh. I nearly missed Irina's quest by not finding her father at the castle and also Yuras too by not helping him at the academy. My problem was pushing on to quick to soon. And also skipping dialogue, instead of taking the time to listen to what the npc's say. So please don't do what I did. Listen and take in what everyone has to say but most importantly conquer everything in the current region before taking on the boss of that region.
When I started a second character, I couldn’t get Ranni to spawn after receiving Torrent. I tried visiting the Church of Elleh at night. I tried resting at the church’s bonfire. I finally found out that I had to let my character die at least one time before she would appear at nighttime. This obviously wasn’t an issue on my first character as I died all the time, lol. But, my second character was a safer ranged class. Just wanted to post this in case someone had a similar issue.
I heeded the advice to avoid night time as a beginner so never saw Renna (that is her name). I played many hours but never left the beginning area. After seeing the tip here - at Level 21 - I went back to the Church of Ella and rested there passing time until Night and then went back and forth and round and round, rested there again but no Renna. So I gave up and went on my way. Messed up and got killed. Respawned at the Church. It was still night, AND THERE WAS RENNA! As an Astrologer I am deliriously happy to be able to summon now.
Just started playing this morning, and this was super helpful, especially the tip about guard counters. The game doesn't really explain that very well for a first timer, and it made a huge difference.
Another way to crush runes and not have the window close, is to simply press in the right stick (R3) and close the right side of the menu. This will keep you in the inventory and you can use as many as you want. Helps if you need runes but you don't want to go back to the roundtable
There's a super useful crystal tear you can find for the flask of wondrous physick that allows you to keep your runes upon death, same as the sacrificial twig. Can't remember where I found it though, maybe check a tutorial vid for location.
#15 you can also lock yourself out of getting the Raging Wolf set, considered the best medium set of armor. I recently did that and I wish I'd known that just a little bit earlier 😢
@@KillMe.x..x. Notice I said "medium armor" my guy! Of course Banished Knight, Tree Sentinel and Bullgoat sets are gonna be better, but way heavier! Raging Wolf is one of the best for its weight, so you can pump your damage stats instead of Endurance :)
Guess this stuff helps people who’ve never played a Souls game, but to me literally all of these are so obvious.. (except for the Fia thing!! Need to get rid of that blessing.. ) I’m not bragging like I’m amazing at the game or anything. I guess just when you’ve played so many FromSoft games, you auto know not to attack people, to use souls/runes, fake walls, crafting around bosses, strengthening armaments, carry weight, surprise “f you” moments, dying being a lesson rather than consequence, summons signs/pools (btw.. try to do it without summoning someone! It’s so much more rewarding!), how pvp works, gitting gud, etc .. But still, great, clear advice! Are you sure you can’t get the Gravestone seal? Isn’t it a drop? I usually like to keep a little notebook to remind me where things are, stats.. stuff like that. It’s a lot easier in Elden Ring since they gifted us with an actual map that you can place symbols on. Assign those symbols to something. The animal token I use to mark those spots where your horse can use the air jump… treasure chests for those locked golem spots if you don’t have enough keys.. etc Dude I love these games soooo much!
I beat Margit the fell omen at level 25, no summons, no wonderous flask (nevermind i had no idea it existed at the time) with a +4 battle ax. Its just a point of pride for me. I told him i wasnt taking the easy way out. I won. It feels good
Great video for new players and current ones. Only thing I would potentially add is that, you don't have to sell runes strictly as the only option, you can just select them and pick Use as Selected to pop multiple instead of individually. But personal preference yea? Good job man keep it up.
18:48 You can also get Rune Arcs from co-op. Any time you're summoned to help a friend with a boss or mini boss, you'll get a Rune Arc after accomplishing your task. I *think* you can get one if you're summoned as a Hunter & successfully take down a friend's Invader. I haven't tried Hunting, as I'm not much of a PvP person, so I'm not entirely sure on that
My two biggest mistakes are progressing too far too fast, and not checking if equipment has special properties, I had no idea my raptor feather armour boosted jump attacks
for rune protection there is also a crystal tear for the sacrificial twig. mix it in with your flask that way your safe for 3 min and you dont have to waste a talisman spot or purchase anything
@@johnwrath3612 when you die your at a grace. Switch the potion, then you have 3 min from when you take it to get back to your runes. If you die you keep whatevee runes you have and the ones you didnt make it too are still there to get
Sacrificial twig also great for retrieving runes from your bloodpatch when you accidently wander into a bossroom and die leaving the fogwall in your way of an easy retrieval.
Great tips but one serious error on #22 the sacrificial twig; use it after you have died before you go back for your runes. That way you get another death without loosing your runes per twig.
I think you're not counting consistently. What counts as "a death without losing your runes"? If you're saying that you can die without a twig, then equip a twig, and then try and get your runes, what you're saying is that "dying and dropping your runes" doesn't count as losing your runes. Because they aren't gone permanently (yet). So by that logic, if you do your first boss run with a twig equipped, you die and keep your runes. Then if you do another boss run without a twig, you die and drop your runes, which we established above doesn't count as losing your runes. In this way, you can use only one twig and have two deaths without losing your runes. It doesn't matter that you equipped the twig the first time. It's still the same number of deaths without losing runes.
@@user__214 He is correct if he's saying what I think he is. Basically you can lose your runes the first time without a twig, equip a twig to go get your runes, and then if you die again while going back to get your runes you get an additional chance to get them as they don't dissappear as long as you have a twig equipped.
Another huge mistake people should be warned about: Selling limited stock items from merchants that you can't get back until your next playthrough. On my very first save file, I was going through my inventory selling off extra stuff I didn't need. And I failed to notice the difference between the regular caestus and the spiked caestus, and sold my spiked one. Unfortunately there is only one spiked caestus for sale from one particular merchant in the entire game, and once I sold it, it became impossible for me to ever get it back before NG+. Any weapons or armor sold by merchants are often limited to a single stock, and if you buy and sell any of those items, they're gone for good! So be very careful not to sell off anything you can't get back.
i wish i watched this before starting the game, i completely missed Ranni and spent hours trying to figure out how to get her to spawn. then my partner had to inform me that i can no longer get her to spawn because i missed my opportunity. Same with hugging the woman, i hugged her twice to see if i get anything else then i told my partner about it and he informed me about the debuff. Great video to help new players and this would have been very helpful if i watched before i played lol
Excellent video Very helpful I knew all this things from my own and now that i hear it from you make me feel proud of myself. The tips is, don't rush the game, take your time, explore and find things, try to level up before lose your "souls"because Elden ring is very unpredictable. Also read everything you collect you will learn about the lore or the actual use of them
I think a lot of people don't sprint because this is the first Soulsborne with a state change between in-combat and non-combat, where your stamina doesn't deplete when you're not in combat. Gotta break those habits! Just be careful when you go back to other games and expect to be able to sprint everywhere. It caused a lot of sticky situations when I went back to Plat DS2 and kept expecting to still have stamina after doing a running attack to the first enemy in a horde. Also, I forgot about Great Runes for most of my first playthrough. Probably started using Rune Arcs around Leyndell/Altus Plateau. And I still finished the game with 70+ Rune Arcs. Anyone afraid of running out is doing something wrong.
Thank you, good tips. I have one, dont know if its been mentioned. If you dont run through your waypoints they will stay on the map. Dont forget to clear them when you no longer need them, i cant count the amount of times ive headed for an old one when ive just put down a new one.
As a first time player of elden ring and to add on, never playing any demon/dark souls games. i want to thank you for these great tips. Unknowingly, i found myself doing a few of these already lol. Explore, level up, and have patience. I am SUPER GUILTY of panic rolling I need to stop doing that 😫
Yeah, I've done a few of these. You'd think a guy who panic rolls so much in boss fights would have figured out the trick over rolling over skulls, but nah, I am now expert in where that sword is gonna land, and that was because it took me forever to figure out where to get Torrent. One thing not mentioned about the golden runes is not only can you cash them in at the merchant, they are kept when you die, so keeping them in base form until you spend them effectively makes them immune to loss.
Very well done for new gamers to the game. I think my son was having issues with it. I just started a new game after finishing it. Won't make some of the mistakes again. Do all quest lines if possible. I was like wtf at the end because all I did really was Ranni's. It was a Game of Thrones ending where you say WTF. 8 seasons and it ends like this.
I definitely won’t make the same mistakes again. Missing out on some quests and different endings really makes me want to go through to new game plus though 🤣
Another great mechanic that wasn't mentioned here and in other videos is the counterattack. It works by holding up your shield and pressing R2 (heavy attack) right after you block the enemy attack. This allows you to perform a very quick heavy attack that deals significant damage
You can either sell the runes in bulk or use golden runes in bulk by selecting "use selected item" then select how many you want to use if you don't want to go to the merchant. When I'm by the site of grace, I go to "use selected item" just so I don't go to the merchant then back where I was after leveling up.
Going back into the game after being away for more than a year and forgot everything I was working on. This was a good refresher on the simple things that might not be readily apparent. Thanks
I played my 150 hour first play through with colossal weapons and i have to say that i find the back step attack very useful in because a lot of the enemies are programmed to punish backwards rolling quite a lot in this game. you can use it for your advantage like roll backwards agro the enemy and then backstep attack. Also if you have high endurance like i did i find it much better to block than roll when two handing my weapon and then punish with a guard counter the chip damage you get is quite minimal. I have read a lot of qritique about the boss speed versus player and finding openings for attacks, i did not find that problematic only thing i think should be faster is the healing animation. it is much more harder to find a safe healing window in elden ring than other from games. what are other players thoughts about this it would be fun to know and i have to say elden ring was the best open world game i have played and is my second favorite fromsoft game the first is sekiro.
I think healing in sekiro is harder especially in late game boss fights, especially Genichiro and Isshin. It's like they know you're attempting to heal and flash across the screen at you to knock some of what you just healed off. I swear they've damn near dashed across the arena to stop me from healing.
@@odynzeyez6259 Yes no i remember they definetly read your heal animations also in sekiro, especially in the genichiro fight if you were at right distance and tried to heal, genichiro always try to shoot you with the bow this remaind me of certain godskins in Elden ring😆
Thank you for putting this together. Over all I'm taking advantage of most things, except I've been ignoring the arc runes and I didn't understand the Baldachin's Blessing. Recently purchased the game so It's still early.
Two Handing usually gives additional Strength, except in cases where a weapon has Optional Dual Wielding such as the Starscourge Greatswords, the Strength requirement listed is to use them AT ALL because the Two Handing option accesses the Powerstance instead.
22:40 I played for 30 hours without knowing about grabbing maps. I just thought the map was vague on purpose. When I discovered what I had been missing I did a grand tour all I had explored up to that point
When smashing runes, smash only what you need early on so you do not accidentally lose them. If your almost to a level up or need to buy from a vendor just pop the amount you need so you are carrying a low amount. Similarly if you think you might die, pop a bunch to get a level, then go and only lose a small amount of runes rather than the large amount you had before. This only works up to a certain point but in early game struggles it's important
Thank you for the good advices. They really helped me! You talked about people quitting playing the game because it's very difficult. I really struggled the first few days, but the thought about, having payed that much for a game, really kept me going 😅
I recommend saving your golden runes. If you get up to a boss use your runes to level up. If you're short you can use those golden runes to get what you need to get to the next level. Then you go into a boss fight with almost no runes to lose.
Not using Great Runes (#19) is probably the thing I neglected most on in my first playthrough. It was purely stubbornness, and I was ultimately able to win without using more than 5 or so Rune Arcs, but those Runes might have made certain bosses easier...
I'm guilty of this too. I never used a great rune even once. This is because I didn't know the effect stays until death. I thought it worked in a similar way to the flask of physik (a few minutes). Spent my first playthrough thinking how underwhelming great runes were as a result. Though now, I guess the game will be much easier for me this run, since I ran my last game without them.
Also to add if you co-op a lot great runes are worthless. If you're the co-oper you lose your great rune every time you get summoned. My friend who co-ops a lot will not use them. I die way too much to use them either
FightinCowboy got me past most of these problems. Never used Baldachin’s blessing in combat, just exhausted Fia’s quest line and gave the dagger to D. On my last new game, a skeleton killed D out by Summonwater and I got his awesome twin armor set!
Here in 2024. Admitting I wasnt running until you brought it up. I was like "wait stfu". I wondered why summoned players were always running ahead of me. Dumb.
The dodging into the enemy tip is something I’ve used multiple times, especially against the mad pumpkin head boss, and mind you I’m playing as a mage. But it helped me in killing the boss
I think you need to add 24, which is leverage google for everything you have questions about. Google is the best way to understand the purpose of every item and weapon you find and while some of these carry over from previous From Soft games not all do. Don’t be afraid to take a pause and google what you just received to know, what it does and if necessary who you should take it to next.
What you said about leap attacks is true. But to add to that, WHEN you hit the attack button during a leap is super important. For instance, if you hit your attack button right at the same time as hitting the jump button, the direction of your attack is locked in. However, if you wait until almost the end of the jump to hit the attack button, right before landing, your attack will track MUCH better towards your locked on target. The trade-off is that the longer you wait, the more chance there is that you'll be hit mid-jump. Correct timing and practice to know when to attack is very important!
I just started playing and after hearing your 23 list of mistakes, now I won’t make them and have not made any yet. Whew! Thanks for this comprehensive list!
Baldachin's is 35% damage negation, 34% poise buff and prevents stagger with damage level 0/1/2/3/5/8/11 for 15 seconds. Hyper-armor on demand, basically. Nice for the big hittin' bosses.
I just ordered Elden ring and am binging a bunch of beginner tips videos in preparation bc I’m kinda scared lmao but this was by far the most helpful, thank you! :D
