I accidentally gave my Glacierfish to Willy, because I had this idea that I could somehow show it to him and he would be impressed, almost like a quest item or something. I thought that he had been telling me about the legendary fish recently, so I thought if I showed it to him, he would react. Well, he did. He was disgusted that I gave him a fish, even though it was the legendary glacierfish, and he was all like, 'What am I supposed to do with this?' or whatever he says.
@@ediblestars07 Yeah, for some reason, I didn't think of that at the time. But it doesn't matter too much, since I have created a large number of new characters on new farms since then. :)
To remember my greenhouse I do a wine wendesday. The ancient fruit grows on a weekly rotation and the kegs take six days. It works out so well. I recommend starting a routine and sticking with it. Mine Monday, (go get that cooper ore, you need it!) Wine wendesday, and Fun Fridays (Gifting is super easy on Friday when most of the town is at the bar.)
Correction: DO harvest the giant crops. They yield more, and will both block movement and reduce productive area if left alone. They are also a source of secret notes. Chop them down.
@@Flare-Bolt They should last until you chop them. Which should be ASAP, if you are concerned about getting the note you can get tons bombing in the mines/caverns.
I barely found out about this game in 2022! Just like 3 weeks ago and I’ve been hooked ever since! Tbh, I would’ve never imagined myself playing a game like stardew valley but here I am. Thanks for the tips 👍🏻
i bought stardew valley about a month ago after my friend recommended it, and i must admit i currently have 104 hours in it already- it may be a problem
fall of first year. here's what i've learned remember to plant the starfruit seed you get from gunther BEFORE fall comes... i lost it everyone talks about field snacks, but bug steaks are actually easier to make and heal more. now you can save all those seeds for wood or tapping the mushroom cave is probably the better of the 2 choices. if you don't know what to do, or have nothing to do, walk around! you're bound to find something! always Always ALWAYS bring your hoe with you. yes, even to the beach. yes, even in the mines! there's good stuff buried under your feet. the worms tell all buy the silo before the coop buy the silo before the coop buy the silo before the coop buy the silo before the coop for clint's quests, you can't stockpile ore you find and bring them to him when he asks. you gotta go find it in the mines. do yourself a favor, spend the gold to buy the gold ore from clint to make a gold bar and complete the blacksmith bundle early. save the strawberry seeds for next year to maximize the profits. the insect head is one of the best starting weapons and is one of the easiest to get in the game. focus on getting that first so you can ditch that dumb rusty sword
I love how nice you are to every commenter :) That's why I prefer smaller channels because those creators can interact with the comments more. I saw a twitch in the description. What do you stream currently?
The labeling chest thing is incredibly true, my insanity went really low after that, I had the idea of putting crops and seeds in different chests for each season and saved me a lot of time. Having a workbench makes things easier too, and it can be really cute if you choose cute colors for each chest!
Tip: When the TV says that it's salmonberry or blackberry season, abuse the hell out this feature. You can easily get hundreds of free food that could last you a long time
When I die in the skull caverns I just turn off the game and restart the day. It's frustrating but better than losing the items because you'll have never gained them to lose them if you quit before it saves.
You can also go to the adventurer’s guild the next day and they will recover one item for you.. I do that if I only lose one really good item and don’t care about the rest
Recycling Machine: 75% chance at 1-3 Wood or 25% chance at 1-3 Coal after one hour. Wood Chipper: 100% chance at 5-9 Wood after three hours. It really depends on what you need, and how long you want to wait. I feel the coal is more valuable than the plain wood and takes one third the time to process.
@@Kaftan coal is easy to get tho. Especially from the dust sprites which have a 50/50 drop (i dont remember how many they drop) and they come and huge numbers. Plus they are easy to kill.
@@v.crowley yes, 150 vs 80 is a 70g difference. If you buy 10, thats 1500 vs 800, you'll save 700 and already make up that bus ticket and if you're not buying more than 10 then why are you even buying that fertilizer. Its definitely worth it
Chest-sorting tip: Most items in the game have color-coded description titles (fruits are pink, vegetables are green, flowers are purple, etc). Using colored chests is an effective way of sorting your loot without the need for signs.
Hey! If you make a mistake with selling something you just bought, you can scroll down to the bottom and undo it by buying back what you sold at the same price you sold them! This was a quality of life change with the 1.5.5 update! Also, I just discovered something cool that i haven't heard anyone talk about yet. Try clicking on the NPC sprites when you are in the menu (the menu where you can see the gifts you've given to that NPC). They do a special little animation! It's so cute! You should def include that in one of your future videos!
Its cool that they added this but Scumbag Pierre buys the fertilizer for 40g from you, thats half of Sandy's price. He doesnt have the decency to buy it from you at 75g
I didn't get into the game until I discovered the Wiki. Learning as I go just makes me feel lost. I planted parsnips, foraged, avoided fishing, was sad I could only talk to villagers once a day, then slept. In fact, I did a lot of sleeping. One day, grandpa's ghost appeared, shook his head sadly, and told me what to do when I was ready to try again, and I had no idea what he was talking about. RU-vidrs and the Wiki taught me how to play, and now I love it. Especially the fishing. :)
Actually, I've never once lost the Egg Festival, both before and after the update where Abigail is now a contestant! I just have my own path, from left to right, and just keep moving. The colorful eggs are very easy to see, you only need to make sure you don't walk into a wall/obstacle as you continue. Also, while it's not cheap, and you may not get everything back, a recent update makes it so you can buy back some of your stuff you lost if you pass out in the mines! (I believe you have to go to the Adventurer's Guild for that. I'm not sure if there's a time limit before your loot is gone forever, so make sure to go there the next day, just in case.)
hasn't Abigail always been a contestant though? Which update (version) are you talking about? As for the item recovery service: You can get one item (or one stack of items) back for the selling price (or for free if you can't sell the item in question), the rest is lost forever. You are able to recover your item until the next time you pass out due to low health
@@kliffort8989 Ah, I didn't remember the item recovery one very well, so thank you! As for Abigail at the Egg Festival, I believe back when the game first came out, it was just you, Jas and Vincent. I could be wrong, maybe I'm experiencing a Mandela Effect? ^_^0
I was doing the "give 50 loved gifts" qi quest, and I used up so many gifts I only had one person left to gift and I accidentally gifted them the wrong thing! I always talk to the people first before gifting so I wasn't paying attention.. luckily I had one more person I didn't gift and BARELY made the quest! And I've basically made the same mistakes! But I have so much food now the spa is collecting spiderwebs!
I don’t get the the whole “storage trouble” thing. I think I have 7 chests and that’s lasted me up to 6 years (still running save). I just color co-ordinate them. Dark green- seeds, fertilizers Light blue- Fish, sea forgeables Brown- Wood, stone, crafted stuff (I also slot my Skull Cavern gear in here too) Black- Ores, bars, batteries, general mob drops Light green- general foragables, “nature related” stuff (ex; ferns, sap, honey for crafting) White- Misc chest anything goes Light grey- Gems, geodes, etc. I think it is only way later in the game that I had to get a chest in the house to store excess decorations.
I have them organized a little different. House - decor/food/clothes Light green- spring Yellow- summer Orange- fall Brown on deck- materials 2 light blue/blue chests for fishing and crab pots/lures 1 chest in barn for animal products 1 chest in the mushroom cave for foragables 1 chest in the mines
This! I usually start running out of salmonberries early fall, so the mushrooms are clutch in tiding me over until blackberry season (and you can use the other varieties for life elixir and community center bundles)
Thanks to recycling machines I am genuinely thrilled when I fish up soggy newspapers early in the game. Free cloth to get a mill and some bundle items before sheep are available and without spending any money on anything but the building itself!
Oh, is that the image of the egg route from the stardew wiki at 0:29? If so, I posted that! There wasn't a map route for people to follow for the longest time, just links to record videos so I followed them and made that map (if its the same one) :)
I’m sorry, “easily” get 15-18 eggs at egg festival is absolutely not the case. It takes a decent amount of practice for people to get into that range, and I’m pretty sure 18 is the world record….
I think it was a joke but idk i'm no stardew expert, i'm just good at reading between the lines. You can tell she was exceptionally funnier in this video especially with the edits XD.
Did you know that you can regain energy by laying in your bed without going to sleep, just move your character onto the bed but not quite on the centre and your character will shut their eyes and nap to restore energy.. faster than running to the spa
6:48 The reason why surrounding chests wit chairs works is because when a villager rushes after being stopped, they have no hitbox until they either make it to the end of their path or enter another area in order to stop you from obstructing the villager’s path repeatedly.
The reason you are slow when walking is because of just that, you are walking and not running! There is a option that switches between walking and running, running being much faster not as fast as a horse but still faster then you were going.
I think Ancient Fruit is best in the greenhouse. It's my personal tradition or whatever you want to call it to make sure I have fruit to harvest on Sunday, this usually means leaving it until Sunday, but when it is, I harvest and put it in kegs to make Ancient Fruit Wine. That takes six days while the fruit regrows in a week, but the wine won't go anywhere until you collect it, so it's fine to leave the completed wine in the kegs until harvest day. The problem is getting enough Ancient Fruit for an upgraded shed full of kegs, which has a maximum capacity of 137. That's where growing them outside and on Ginger Island comes in. If you have at least 137 plants between the greenhouse and at least Ginger Island if not outside on the main farm, you can do an upgraded shed's worth of Ancient Fruit Wine every week. And if you took Artisan at farming 10, befriending animals faster is worthless, you can sell that many bottles of wine for 40% more. But don't age Ancient Fruit Wine, instead, build another shed for kegs and find somewhere to grow Star Fruit, remember that you can put Star Fruit in garden pots, which themselves can be put pretty much anywhere, just don't forget to water them and remember they only grow in summer unless indoors somewhere or on Ginger Island. Make Star Fruit Wine and age that, use Ancient Fruit Wine to fund more Star Fruit seeds
On my best stardew save I worked really hard to get a horse I named him Oscar after my horse on red dead redemption 2, *little did I know that his name was Oscat WEEKS AFTER GETTING HIM*
I'm only in year 2 so I'm saving this video for later but I love, love your tip about labeling the chests. I have mine in 2 separate areas to help keep them straight but I spend wayyyy too much time running back & forth to find things or put them away. It might take me a whole day to organize them but I'll have to do it! Thanks!
Im relatively new to the game. I thought about using the desert as a building area but i read in another forum that there is a particular event that takes place there and will destroy anything you build that's in the way. Is that true?
There are no events that take place in Calico Desert. You're free to put whatever you want there. Avoid putting things on the paths, though. Emily visits Sandy on her birthday and will walk through them
If only 1.5 would come to Mobile soon, Bored as hell, grinding gold for those Obelisk ain't worth it Wanna explore the skull cavern and get those auto petters then start my Ginger Island farm so badly 😆
Something I just fIgured out is you can wait a long time to build a shed. It’s a lot of money early on, but you probably have tons of space on your farm, in your house, in your coop/barn, and in other areas of the world.
To organize chests I usually make each one different colors and put things of that color in it. (Like radioactive ore and fiber in the green chest, wood and fences in the brown chest, etc.) you can probably come up with something better though. Love your channel!
Ah personally its a color coded. Like white is for tools. Green for vegetals, light green for crops, yellow for silo refill, etc. Black for monster loot and red for food, and blue for gift items.
4:51 212 crops is enough for one scarecrow to protect and can be watered by 4pm with a basic watering can. I would say you shouldn't go above this number until you have a better can or some sprinklers for the outer ring to make it easier. Note, You only need 15k farming exp to hit max rank. Radishes are one of the best crops to invest in since they give 15 exp per, take 6 days to grow, and can sell for roughly 3 times their seed value. You need 1k Radishes to max farming out, which isn't too much of a stretch. Exp wise, two radishes are worth more than one melon, and they are cheaper and may give back more G from harvesting. It only costs 40,000G to get all the radishes you need to do this.
"easily get between 15 and 18 eggs" im sorry WHAT? didnt that one guy do a TAS run of the egg festival to prove that 18 was theoretically possible but it gives like 0.5 seconds of wiggle room with perfect pathing and whatnot?
I love stardew but every time i play im so stressed! Time is too fast! I have so much to do! So many chores! Crops Animals people the MINE .... I'm stressed! I want to play more but i get frustrated and end up not playing for months then when i pick it back up i forget what i was doing and its an endless cycle!
The spa is so useless. An entire day is 13 minutes. Take out a couple minutes for morning routine and 1 minute to get back home, and that gives you a 10 minute day. No one has time to take 60 seconds to go to the spa, spend 60 seconds getting energy back, and then 60 seconds going back to where you were
Oh no. Does anyone actually go all the way to the spa to regen? Just go to bed, select "no" and lay there. You will recover energy as long as you are "laying" in bed.
