Let us start with how the mind-body is programmed in the first place. In the second trimester of gestation, we begin our programming in the womb, when the brain is electrically turned on. This programming is never available to the conscious mind. It rests deep in the subconscious as the grounding point on which all other beliefs and experiences are made.
After birth, there are two ways that we are programmed. One is by hypnosis, and two by repetition. For about the first three years, the infant’s brain operates in a very low frequency called delta. Delta is between 0.5-4 Hertz (cycles per second). This is a state of deep hypnosis. Information that comes to the child through its surroundings will be accepted as the absolute truth at that time. There is no judgment of the information. It is just accepted. This period lasts until the child is around three years old.
During the delta phase, the child is socialized into its environment through its family of origin. The child learns basic skills and social norms. The child develops an attachment style as they interact with others, mainly family of origin. During this time, the child repeats many activities over and over, both physical, mental, and psychological, until the skills are mastered.
Around age three, the child’s brain spends more time in Theta frequency. Theta frequency lasts until around age 7. Theta frequency is between 4-8 Hz (Hertz) range. Theta is still in a hypnotic state. However, children make more independent decisions and test their environment, and their belief system develops earnestly. The family of origin continues to greatly influence the child’s programming.
At around age 7, the child moves into Alpha frequency. Alpha frequency is between 8-12 Hz and is a brain wave associated with relaxed wakefulness in adults. A basic belief system is now in place, and until changed, this will be their core belief throughout their life. This is the core belief system that they will operate under. This is their programming. They may add to it as required, but this is their fallback core belief system. When push comes to shove, this core belief system will override newer beliefs. Note here that the conscious mind, for the most part, is unaware of the subconscious belief system.
The belief system is now the framework in which the person operates. They cannot think thoughts outside of the belief system. Their world arises out of their beliefs, and the system holds them together. Therefore, they must first change their belief system to change their world. Out of the new belief system, a new world will arise for them.
This is the model you also operate under. You are programmed. For the most part, you have an operating system set inside you by others, and you will not consciously recognize it. You will think that is just the way life is, and that’s reality.
You can force behavior to change briefly, but you will revert to the old behavior if the mind doesn’t change its programming. Real change and manifesting occur only when the programming in the subconscious mind has been changed.
The Wisdom in A Course in Miracles: You must change your mind, not your behavior, and this is a matter of willingness.” (acim.org/acim/... | T-2.VI.3:4)
Let us now look at the manifesting process. Being drawn to manifesting indicates that change is needed and that you want to bring something different into your world. You are using the techniques of manifesting to do that, i.e., affirmations, vision board, visualization, etc.
Recall the two models of creating your belief system in the first place: hypnosis and repetition. Your affirmations must be worded in a language the subconscious mind will respond to. The wording is critical. The wrong wording will put you in a different direction or stop the process.
Also, there is a hidden process that is usually never mentioned. It is called “Tail-Ender.” Refer to video 77 - Affirmation Tail-Enders.
How often should you say your affirmations? At least 30 times per day. I say them in sets of five - 6 times throughout the day. More is better. This is repetition, just like your first programming method as a child. How long should you do this? Untell you change, and then for one week more. Vision boards should be looked at for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day using the processes of relaxation and visualization. This is the hypnosis process used in early childhood programming.
You are breaking old habits and making new ones. Refer to the videos - 68 - Affirmations - Part 1 of 5 and the videos 2 through 5 part. Also, you can review the playlist - The Illusion and Manifesting. This process involves not just thinking happy thoughts now and then. So, do you want to change? Are you ready to start the process?
Oh, there is much to talk about here in the illusion.
Peace.
Mike
