If you're feeling stuck on the spiritual path and not feeling the peace of the void yet here is an understanding and method to cease thoughts and feelings entirely, this could be considered a method for understanding Ajativada (The translation I prefer: No-Origination). For me this was one of those 'A ha!' moments that dissolved a few of the stickier, more persistent delusions that I still attached to, in this dissolution my awareness deepened into a newfound peace. For a long time I was trying ignore or accept thoughts, only to eventually realise even this was subtly perpetuating them.
I found that all of the understanding in the world doesn't mean anything unless you can actually experience the understanding directly, so I try to make these videos a form of meditation as well as an explanation. The aim here is to bring the viewer/listener to the understanding by way of experience.
I am aware this technique and understanding isn't for everyone. In a brief summary: Thoughts can't exist without awareness, withdraw awareness from thoughts, thoughts cease. All perceived reality is thought, ceasing thoughts ceases reality. When only awareness remains liberation is experienced.
I know that sounds very intense, this Spiritual Bleach series is composed of the most powerful and uncompromising techniques I could find and packaged into an understandable framework. This video series is intended to introduce and teach these techniques for those seeking inner peace but have stagnated.

I tried to withdraw awareness from thoughts and feelings while listening to your video. I didn't fall asleep, but a couple of times I didn't hear your words, just your voice. I like it, withdrawing the attention. Thank you.

What you said about ignoring the awareness is in-and-of-itself placing attention on the thing again, is very helpful to me. I always had a problem that I would describe as "thinking about thinking" and whether I thought about something (usually something that I regret) or thought about thinking about it, it would lead to the same spiral. Attention itself is a great tool, and seems to be the only tool we have to actually control thoughts. It'll be hard for me but I think this is the best meditation practice ever.

Why would one want to stop thinking 'entirely, as you state in title? Being able to stop the compulsive thoughts, now thats something not many can master 💜

It's theurgy. We're not talking about walking around town this way. It's like going into deep sleep, but being aware and not out of it. It's useful for integrating spiritual truths into wisdom.

I believe in what Robert Adams has said. “Good thoughts, bad thoughts, none are my friends “, and would like to be rid of them all and for always ! Hi Corin!😊 Excellent sharing! Thank you! My teacher said discard every thought saying "That's a thought" and the thought dissolves by itself or move/keep your attention in the bodily sensations to avoid thoughts. I find your teaching straight away, directly to anatta!❤

@@corinbryant I resonate very much with the way you talk, your vocabulary very down to the earth , the timing... I am sure soon you will have many followers because people are tired of spiritual jargon, Buddhist terms, even non dual "mantras". I am so glad i found you, just by accident, searching to find details about the mega earthquake in Japan and Brazil plane crash in Sao Paulo... When I met a teacher in 2015, the first conversation I had with him left me like this. But my mind didn’t stop, but awareness was liberated from the mental activity. Then I was looking internally at the mind from a super objective “position”. Awareness is silence and empty yet full of life. My mind didn’t stop, but awareness was finally free. The thoughts still appeared but came from the mouth of a volcano, just a dark empty place and i saw that when I go involved or grabbed them, I personalised the impersonal and thus would get lost with them or influenced what that thought meant.

Yes that's right, to clarify a little further I wouldn't recommend practising this method at all times and it's not intended as a total method to operate in life with, it's a meditation one can perform when one needs respite from thoughts and feelings and to interrupt the cycle of anxiety and negative emotional overwhelm, or if you simply wish to abide in total peace for a while :)

The problem is we believe the thoughts are ours to believe. We are not our thoughts, any more that we are the LCD screen we are looking at right now. Our thoughts are not ours. A break from thought can be the trigger to see what you are without them. We are what is simply aware of thought, and images and feelings and sensations, effortlessly. Thoughts comment on all these afterwards, notice that delay. If you 'believe you are your thoughts' you will always go back to believing what is being thought and that can will always lead to suffering in the end.

We are not our thoughts, any more than we are the LCD screen we are looking at right now. - well in a sense we are one, remove the belief of what we are and there is a more direct experience of what we are aware of. All you hear about oneness and deep peace, joy, even bliss are available experiences after breaking the belief of what we think we are. We even can have glimpses before but fall out quickly because we believe we are the thought that is commenting how good that was. At that thought it is gone.

I used gateway tapes to withdraw into myself. First your body rests, then your mind rests. It's like deep sleep but with awareness. Time passes differently. I thought i was down for about 30 minutes. It was 3 hours later when my eyes opened, by the clock. I was awake but everything was black and silent. I was both a single point and the whole universe, all at once. It was amazing. There was no thinking, only experience.

If I decide to count 1-100 in my head that is not me counting? It is not part of me? It is someone out side of me? Drugs and alcohol intend to bring positive thoughs not get rid of them like E T says in his all knowing wisdom. Is there really someone whos thoughts go away whit alcohol?

Thing is i discovered all this by myself i really enjoyed video and finding a person with same conclusions.I call it attention stabilization.extending just highlights the thoughts without extending is stable.My next phase is practices for stabilization of awareness.Ivso have some progress

I had to stop after you asked for the 30th time what a thought is made of. You saying what it isn't, get to the point, your supposed to be the teacher why I gotta guess for 5 minutes?

Thank you for your comment, to answer your question: The purpose of the question "What is a thought made of?" is to encourage the student to examine one's own experience and arrive at an experiential conclusion rather than reach an intellectual understanding. I repeat the question because focusing on this type of introspective examination is particularly tricky as the mind attempts to evade being observed this clearly, I spend a long time on this question and repeat the technique because it is far more beneficial for the student to experience the answer themselves instead of me just giving them the answer.

Methods to stop thinking prevent the simple awareness of what actually is by imposing a distorting practice on top of the true natural movements of life, mind and body, and therefore preventing the understanding, healing and transformation of these things. You don't know anything about this because you read books and follow authorities. This is the intellectual path of knowledge accumulation, not the movement of meditation, so what you are being lost in is the thing that prevents true flowering of understanding which is not knowledge but the fruits of perceiving what actually is, which is YOUR life, YOUR world, YOUR mind, YOUR consciousness, not that of a teacher. People who understand this see how absurd it is for the left brain to spout its mere knowledge to other people who can't tell the difference between perceptual insight and conceptual thinking. Not a single thing I have said here is a theory at all, which is the difference between insight and knowledge. Everything you say is your mere conclusions, and conclusions are not perceptual insights into reality. They merely condition the brain and fool it into believing it UNDERSTANDS, but knowledge is mere representation, conclusion, theory, opinion, not understanding. Your Western social conditioning has totally blinded you to all of this. None of the teachers except the Buddha and Jiddu Krishnamurti really explained clearly to become a LIGHT UNTO YOURSELF, to NOT FOLLOW OR DEPEND ON OTHERS, otherwise it is the growth of dependency, attachment, fear and knowledge, not the observation and understanding that liberates at all. But the Buddhas words have been translated and distorted add infinitum. He said be sceptacle of all truth claims, don't accept anything. He said don't follow another. He said you must be a light unto yourself. Same to with Krushnamurti. Following and pursuing knowledge only leads to stasis and illusion, and this is the world you live in today. DON'T ARGUE AGAINST THIS. If you do you just volley more of your intellectual confusion at me. I am saying this is so. And we can begin to transform in reality if we understand this. Otherwise it's the illusion of transformation, the mere transformation in our ideas and beliefs which is not a break from the pattern of ignorance which is all humanity has ever known.

Buddhas words in the Pali nikayas are just a reformulation of Advaita Vedanta. Theurgy is required to integrate these realizations into wisdom. If your mind is shut off, you experience something that is not the mind. Awareness. Pure consciousness. And you're mistaken, I'm arguing against what you're saying. Get mad lol. Seriously tho, why read the nikayas if knowledge does no good? It's part of the process of attaining wisdom. You must integrate what you learn into experience.

When the Buddha was born he wasn’t a Buddhist because he hadn’t invented it yet. If you want to stop thinking about this Just ask yourself What is my next thought going to be? I’m no mind reader but it’s probably going to be “I’ve stopped thinking. So just ask again and again. what is my next thought going to be. Enjoy.
