You are absolutely right sir about DDIS engine. Most Efficient & Reliable Engine. Also a Big fan of Hyundai Diesal engine. Find it more Refined, Responsive & Efficient with more 50-60% less NVH levels than Maruti Diesal engine. I would anyday buy Maruti K-Series 1.2 NA Petrol engine Car over Hyundai 1.2 NA Petrol engine because of K Series are better Refinements, Efficiency & Reliability.
Fiat car ki build quality is no match with Suzuki. Fiat prob : Heavy car with small engine so less fuel economy. And heavy car need heavy components, that cost more money.
Proud owner of Swift Dzire 2008 it will complete 15 years in few month 2,25,220/- kms done still going strong I wish I had extra money in 2019 I would have brought Vitara Breeza also really in love with DDiS engine.
I still drive 1.3Lt DDIS Brezza & have taken it to all terrains including Ladakh. The engine performs awesome till date once it is above 1500rpm. Mileage is unmatchable still with a range of 850+ KMs on full tank 😅 Fully satisfied!
@Shree Because Maruti always was hassle free ownership. I brought Brezza and my friend brought Tata Nexon same time & within few months he had several electrical issues in his Nexon like power windows not working, music system not working properly, etc etc. Whereas my Brezza is 0 issue till date despite using/running it practically everywhere in India. Japanese are excellent in terms of quality control (whatever they provide) specially Gear boxes which no Indian company can match till date. Maruti's has been straightaway NO FUSS cars & practical for families barring SAFETY.
Recently Bought a 2014 swift dzire zdi 100000km driven but still gives 20-25 kmpl (depends on driving) Really a powerful, reliable, fuel efficient engine with less maintainance DDIS❤

Get your facts correct. This engine was jointly developed by Fiat and General Motors. And since suzuki had some sort of alliance with GM when they were operational in US. They got the llicense to use the engine. Suzuki got the engine because of GM and not because of Fiat

I think real truth is it was underpowered. It had no power in starting so climbing steep hills is impossible 😂 I have faced this issue many time now I avoid suzuki ddis on hills.

Some people are saying that this engine was really good in their cars from 2017, 2018 or 2019. But at that time this engine was restricted by Maruti Suzuki. It was an unrestricted and beast engine before 2015. Anyone who had old model Ritz, Swift, Swift-Dzire knows that. The car used to literally take off.

इंडिया आज जेट इंजन के प्रयास में है लेकिन सच ये है कि हम आज भी अच्छा desa पेट्रोल पिस्टनl इंजन उर इंजन छोड़ो मोटर तक नही बना सकते। कारण है कि शिक्षा का स्तर खराब और उसमें सरकारी निवेश की रुचि नही क्योकि धर्म पर लाडना जो है। साथ ही अनुसंधान में सरकार की रुचि नही है। क्योकि धार्मिक पूजा पाठ की राजनीति से वोट मिल जाता है।
