I'm most excited for Shackleton base from this list. And mostly due to your review. Others I'm keenly anticipating are SETI and Daitoshi. I'm hoping I'll get to see some solo coverage on these games soon. Also, The White Castle: Matcha is an insta-buy for me because of how much I love the base game. I hope you guys have a great time at Essen!
Thank you! Yes, I am super excited about the expansion for White Castle as well. And SETI and Daitoshi for sure! We’ll have another video with the games we are anticipating tomorrow :)
@@BoardGamingRamblings Awesome! I'm looking forward to it. Like you two, I also enjoy heavy euros. So, I'm sure I'll find some good ones to keep an eye out for.
I think I'm excited about Shackelton Base and Phoenix. I saw your reviews, and our tastes align pretty well, so those reviews made me look forward to these games.
I'm most excited about SETI, Saltfjord and Spectacular (hihi, all games with an S at the beginning, they are my S-Tier games 😅) and of course meeting you again after having two nice little encounters with you last year ❤❤❤
2 weeks from today I will already be in Essen and I am really looking forward to meeting lots of people and playing board games! I hope to meet you there too. (secret sign, it will be fine)
All three are fantastic! Shackleton and Saltfjord are both in the higher tiers of games this year. We are so lucky that there are so many good games to choose from :D
Picking up 3 of them for sure; Beyond the Horizon (never pulled the trigger on Beyond the Sun, but seen gameplay for this and believe it will be a better fit for my taste), Saltfjord (also seen gameplay video and now I'm excited to get it) and Sparks (also seen gameplay and it looks fun). Will probably get Shackleton base too, it's on my list, but I do hope to see a playthrough before going.
Thanks for the video! We love Santa Maria. Saltfjord will catch my interest. Question is: will it replace Santa Maria or will it not end up in the collection like Skymines that could not replace Mombasa for us.
For me, it easily replaces Santa Maria, but I don’t know how you’ll feel about it. I’ll be demoing it Friday 14-18, so come along then if you want to check it out :)
Shackleton Base is a very good game. With that said, you don’t need it. It’s probably available a time when you have more money. If it isn’t, then no big deal, as there are so many fantastic games coming out, and probably already on your shelf! :)
@@TheSludgeMan No worries! It's easy to be swept up in the "I need the newest game" feeling, but even I, who LOVES to play new games, would have been more than happy to just play the games we already have.
What do you think about the replayability/variability of Phoenix: New horizin?. Bra kanal ni har - första gången jag har blivit en subscriber, någonsin! Hälsningar från Sverige!
I think that the variability is not the highest, but not super low either. Different goals, and even different placement for actions will change up what you focus on, and how you use your workers. Add the interaction, and it will be fun for many many plays!
There are only very few goal cards and the set of techs are limited as well. So the combination creates challenges but you will see all content after 2 plays pretty much
Is Saltfjord exactly like SM, just with a new skin? I have and love SM, happy to see some reusage of good mechanism but it would be disappointing if it is THE same game.
Hey :) There are multiple changes to the game, but it shares a lot of the dna as well. I did a video with one of the designers a few weeks back, so check that out if you want a bit more info! Let me know if you have any more questions :)
