When a U.S. Air Force base commander receives civilian complaints about noise, he gets help from old friend Jack Webb in educating the town leaders and residents about the importance of their work and learning to accept their presence.
Nominated for Best Live Action Short Film (Originally Best Short Subject, Two-reel), The film was intended to acquaint viewers and residents in the United States as to the importance of air defense, ready for enemy attack during the Cold War.

Thanks for posting! The chinchillas may not like the noise, but I love jets. The 50s thru 60s were a golden period for flying fighter aircraft. The century series are well represented in this short. The air show was shot at either Nellis or George AFB. The Millville base is actually the Van Nys airport. It is not March AFB as some reviews state on the web. The runway numbers confirm that it is VNys. The planes on the ramp are from the CANG unit stationed there. 115th and the 195th Fighter Squadrons were designated as Fighter Interceptor squadrons at the time of filming. The F-86 Sabre jets are shown in the scramble at the beginning of the short. It's fun to watch this movie to see the wide inventory of experimental aircraft, fighters and bombers and transport aircraft at that time. I haven't seen this short in decades, thank you for taking the time to post!

I'd have to thanks TCM for playing movies and short films from Warner Bros. for the studio's 100th anniversary. I discovered the short after I was waiting for one of the Looney Tunes cartoons to air
