It was utterly an awkward moment, and we had to return that dish. The waitress understood the situation but still didn't seem please.

Hey Tinbite. Thanks for the question … so at we only had a mouth swab and that was it. But recently they have changed that to both mouth & nose. From my experience with both, it was just uncomfortable but it did not hurt. Hope I understand your question. ❤️

Initially, they don’t like to speak Amharic, but when they get teenagers they learn Amharic from a you tube video , and in some cases from family too. My recommendation is watching Amharic movie improve your Amharic a lot. One day, I hope you will settle in Ethiopia working for your chosen sector and help your country as well as yourself. I knew my Somali friends family live every where , in Germany, Netherlands,England,.... etc. Before they moved to those countries most of them they don’t speak the language. Have their security is compromised? No really. The same way, why do you think people care you should talk to them in their language? If you are in hotel and need service, the hotel is using international language as well, on taxi , tour guide all of them use international language.

Hi R W, so the breakfast was complimentary but otherwise yes, it was a little on the expensive side. We went out to get authentic Ethiopian food or eat at other places :). Thanks for watching!

Hi Masla! Yes they have something similar to Uber. It’s called Ride. If you are staying at a hotel, you can ask them to call Ride for you or you can just download the app. I find that Ride was a lot cheaper than the taxis and you are able to see the fare on the dashboard too. We got our pedis & manicure at Elilly hotel and the owner is named Azeb. It was really nice. They do a really good job for the price. I hope you enjoy your day stay in Addis ☺️

It really depends on the time of year, the room, the duration of your stay ... and Groupon helps! I’d advise to do your booking on TripAdvisor or Expedia .. much cheaper. 👍🏽😊

@@shimesami I think due to holiday season, prices were much better during the time we stayed.. there were barely any one there. But the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay 👍🏽

Yes we had to pay. So there are different kinds of payments. If you want the results in 8 hours, it is a bit more expensive. But we choose to get it in 24 hours and paid around 1300ETB per person.

If you are headed there, you’ll need a negative covid test when you enter the country and it has to be taken within 120 on arrival from the date you took the test. Good luck walal.

Eid Mubarak brother! Let’s get your questions answered. So the hotel we stayed in is called the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa. I think the area name is Bole. It is on one of the main streets in Addis Ababa.. everyone in Addis knows this hotel and where it is located. The price we got was through online and we traveled during the holiday Season so we got a much decent price than normally charged. But one room can run you well above $100usd per night. This price does include complimentary breakfast which was amazing! I will say the experience was very nice and I would high consider staying there again for the experience you get and feeling safe. Unless you absolutely want to stay here, I am sure you can find many other hotels throughout the city with better prices. There was no negotiations done with the price. But you can certainly negotiate prices in Addis Ababa for most things...with the exception of food. We didn’t speak Amharic and we had family with us who did speak Amharic, but Ethiopians are very nice and will help you even if they don’t understand you. I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip. Ethiopia is a beautiful country. Stay healthy & safe. Safe travels to you.

You probably didn’t watch my video completely...which is ok 😊 but just to be clear, we traveled from within Ethiopia from Jigjiga and we were in Addis for a day before we returned to the States. In order to board a plane, you have to have a negative covid test which is why we got tested. We always kept our masks on and socially distanced from other people and enjoyed our stay.

I love Turkish food. Especially their tea - that’s what we had toward the end of the Vlog. It also reminds me of Somali tea. I’ve never had Moroccan.. I’ll have to try it one day InshAllah.
