Namaste, First of all I would like to point out that many of these temples were originally Hindu temples, which later got converted into other religions. These temples are really energy centers, which used to have gold on the top, because of it being such a good conductor, but unfortunately due to wars and invasions, lot of the gold was stolen, especially in India. The benefits are high for those who go inside to pray and meditate. In the Kaliyuga not many will turn to God and most will prefer his maya. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to say that this maya is nothing more than women and gold (Lust and greed) and he is so right! Again and again we get caught by his maya and we fall deep into ignorance and get ourselves into bondage, instead of putting our precious time for realizing God! Oh what a pity state we are in! May God help us with his grace to develop non-attachment! Hari Om Tat Sat!
