Had visited Madrid during Dec 2013, stayed at a college junior's place close to Retiro Park. Madrid is so beautiful that you require at least 3 days so see it properly. Also located on the outskirts are the old towns of Toledo and Segovia which has an aqueduct dating to the Roman era, worth checking out!
