24 hrs with the only doctor on the malaria ward - BBC Africa 

This breaks my heart 💔 and it can be prevented!! They need MORE doctors in this area! I'm sure this guy's exhausted 😴 mentally and physically. He's in my prayers as are these innocent kids.

5years ago, my son who's 10 now developed fever in the evening and we decided to keep him at home till morning. By 1am he started convulsing and twitching, coca cola colored urine was just oozing from him, he was chewing his teeth, and became unconscious. We cried whole night because all the clinics refused admission that night. By 5 in the morning, he lost all reflex, he was unconscious, I rushed with him to the MSF hospital. Immediately we arrived, we were taken to the ICU and oxygen mask administered. We spent 4days in ICU, my son was the only one thankfully not requiring blood transfusion. In the 4days spent there 5 of the 12 kids died due to chronic malaria complications. Thankfully, my son came around too from chronic malaria complications. Since that experience, immediately I notice or he complains, I take him to a hospital even if it's midnight.

Strength to this doctor! More young minds need to be educated (affordablly and with easy access - something that medicine is not even in America) to actually make a medical difference. He's absolutely right about these pandemics as well, they may kill, but many others die from the various other chronic diseases that have been in our society because of neglect due to fear. It's a dangerous thing indeed

That doctor is a hero. May God bless our beautiful Sierra Leone.

This is Sierra Leone for you because their governments has not spend much on the health infrastructure since the Civil war out there in the 1990s.

It cannot go worst than this... People need to start believing in the medical personel and leave the prayers asside.. If you don.t get in time to the hospital no.prayer can save.you anymore... Think....evolve..
