It took 4 ladies plus backup singers to pull off what one person could do alone. Empress Donna Summer was a whole instrument by herself.🤎 But this tribute was done amazingly well 👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽Glennis just stands out always to me. She has "it factor "⭐️
FINALLY!!! A tribute worthy of Donna Summer. Her voice was so powerful, so honest, so rich, and no one person has the lung power to fill her shoes or to fill a venue as only she could. It took all of these talented, beautiful women (plus backup singers) to do Donna justice. Thank you! At an outdoor amphitheater in San Diego, Donna held out a high note for a long time.... and as she held out the note, she slowly lowered the microphone to the floor and as she did, her voice slowly disappeared from the sound system and speakers, yet her voice STILL filled the that entire venue. When she let go of the note, she opened her eyes and looked scared... it was dead silent. She looked around, and then someone started to clap, and then a flood of clapping, screaming, cheering, whistling, and crying roared from the audience in amazement. I turned to my friend and asked her, "Did that really just happen?" My friend said, "Yes, her voice filled this place without the use of the sound system". At the end of the night, I hung out by the main entrance/exit and listened.... nearly everyone was talking about that magical moment we all witnessed... when Donna Summer stopped time for an instant... just because she felt like it and because she could. There will never be anyone like her. She was a lovely, loving, spiritual, non-judgmental, beautiful soul who I got to call my friend for many years. I will love her forever, I miss her dearly, and.... until we meet again!
@@johndododoe1411 Are we talking about fame or vocal abilities? Have you ever listened to Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" or the intro of "All American Boy" sung by Barbara Pennigton? Maybe "Solitaire" by Laura Branigan or "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway? They all were/are well known/famous in the music industry. Cynthia Johnson never really wanted to be famous although she was the head and soul of "Lipps Inc" before starting a solo career. Martha Wash was a former vocalist for Sylvester, part of the group "Two Tons Of Fun" which turned into "The Weather Girls". She was also the voice of many "Black Box's" songs. No need to say anything about Dame Shirley Bassey. Laura Branigan was well known/famous for awhile until her husband's death and some health problems kept her away from enjoy singing. Barbara Pennigton gave up singing I don't know why. Anyway, she was huge for a certain period of time. There was also Dalida, famous French singer with a very powerful voice like in "Il venait d'avoir 18 ans". By the way, I love Donna Summer. I have seen her in concert seven or eight times. Besides being a hell of a singer, she was very cool as a person.
@@renardlacroix6745 The fact you had to explain who those names were and throw in at least one name that wasn't on the list proves my point about lack of global fame.
You could spend a whole lifetime searching for a better melody than this and you will not find it, all 4 singers and all the musicians were absolute perfection.
for who dont know, this is called "the toppers" its a yearly great concert given in Amsterdam the Netherlands, a whole range of famous artists visits. and party is always awesome, so many happy people.
