Music video by Donna Summer performing Last Dance (from VH1 Presents Live & More Encore!). (C) 1999 Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment vevo.ly/oYaTjH
She certainly was, I'm 59 years old and I saw her when I was just 15 years old and still have never forgotten her performance, she was just flawless and sexy as all hell. RIP Donna you gave us so much, thanks for everything girl, wow what a voice.
A little more than ten years ago a 52 year old man was sitting in his truck on the side of the road weeping because the angel who had lit up so many nights of his youth with her beautiful voice was gone. The only thing that can take away some of the sadness over losing Donna Summer is watching and listening to these old songs and remembering just how damn good she made us feel. Sing on forever, LaDonna. We will always be your audience.
R.I.P. Donna Summer.....you were an amazing talented woman ! No autotune. Just Talent. You had a voice that could belt out the music even on your bad day compared to what we have now. The only ones comparable are Whitney and Celine.
One thing you could always tell from her live concerts was how gracious and connected to she was to her audience. She's a class act and great and powerful singer that is truly missed.
I totally agree. Kwnsdn play Barry White was he was the greatest you don't have good music today like it used to be not all music but some music today is fake not all however
I ran the biggest disco in Boston at the height of the Disco era and every night I closed the club with this song. When I was a kid, Cher was the beautiful and talented singer. As an adult, Donna was. God, I miss her. She was so beautiful. No one compares to her.
Rico:. How the hell could ANYONE dislike this video is beyond me. She was way more talented than Whitney Houston ever was, however, she didn't get all the paparazzi and press that these lesser singers got. I am 70 years old, and have seen many singers burn up and get drugged out and lose their voice, but NOT Miss Donna Summer. She is better than Diana Ross and all of those famous singers put together. A truly, God blessed voice and she lived a wholesome life and it shows in her performances, I miss her voice and most of all her dear, sweet spirit.
Only Shirley Bassey had a more powerful voice... But when you think about it, Donna held back a lot...😳 One of kind QUEEN OF DISCO, you are missed...❤❤❤
@@edu.M.A.0077 Well then I hope I make it there someday so I can give her a huge hug and thank her for all the joy that she has given me in this life. Also, it would be great to be able to hear her sing in person.
This is such an incredible live performance. The musicians, the backup singers, the audience, the cameramen, and especially the queen of disco do such a phenomenal job that I doubt there is a better performance out there. It's magical the entire way through, although for me when Donna Summer sings "romance" at 3:49, she takes me to the stratosphere. Just the way that she sings it, her voice. From that point on, the song is as close to perfection as can humanly be possible.
What a truly beautiful and blessed lady! She is Absolutely Gorgeous and I’ve loved her since the 1970’s. Rest In Peace Beautiful One! We Loved You Donna!❤️🙏✝️
What an absolute tragedy in 2012 when Donna Summer passed away. She was without question the undisputed queen of disco, and totaly inspired her audiences with her fantastic singing. Sadly missed in the world of earthly music. RIP lovely lady and do what you do best. Sing your heart out in the heavens above.
Plus we could really dance then after things like "The Jerk", "Funky Money",etc. Dancing in the '80s including me in the 1980's wasn't dancing at all, just what it was but a mess. Ladies, if you can really dance and you live close, lets kick up our heels together.
I actually can't believe that it's going to be 10 years since we lost the queen of disco. Rest in peace Donna Summer, we love to love you forever. ❤🙏🏾🕊

I remember hearing of her passing while driving in the car. Right after the announcement, they played this song. Brought me to tears. I grew up listening to one of the best female vocalists of all time. R.I.P.
She was 50. What an incredible and amazing live performance of "Last Dance"! 1978 was the year this song was released. Donna Summer also released "Heaven Knows" and "MacArthur Park" in that same year. The first #1 song of 1978 was the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love?" (Also the last #1 song of 1977, first hitting #1 on December 24). 1978 was the year of the albums "Saturday Night Fever" and "Grease". Olivia Newton-John had a hit with "A Little More Love", and Andy Gibb scored with his mega-hit "Shadow Dancing". Is it possible to have had a better year in music than 1978?
The morning Donna passed away, I wept for weeks. Never cried before losing an artist, but Donna was unlike any other artist. She was an angel that touched my soul when I was barely a teen. Was blessed to be front row in one of her last concerts. Brought her a bouquet of red roses and was able to give them to her. She touched my hand and thanked me. No one could ever stand in her spotlight. I will miss her forever. God bless you, Donna 🌹✝
This lady might have saved my life. I’ll never know for sure, but nonetheless she had a Major positive impact on me during such a lost period for me. 🙏
yeah and it took years to realize that. he liver is so much better then her recording and that's a real artist, few people can do that, her, Luther Vandross. that's about it lol
There will never be another Donna Summer, she was so beautiful and the music she gave us will always be timeless. RIP queen, you are still missed to this day.
Love love Donna Summer! 20224! Wonderful memories of trying to sing in my dorm room in college in the 76 to 80!! Still singing and dancing, but now for the Lord... God thank you for longevity and love... after strokes I sing out loud...Thank you Jesus for Salvation!
I loved Donna Summer!! She was the Queen of Disco in the 70's!! I loved her voice!! Absolutely beautiful!! She was a beautiful woman! I miss her so much!! RIP Donna Summer 😥💖
My issues with Rolling Stone aside, I was pleasantly surprised to see them have Donna in the top 50 of their "Top 200 Vocalists" of all time. This woman could sing. Friggin' pitch perfect at nearly 60. She was amazing.
Well said..and so much more than disco, not to diss it at all, it was my timeand when I delved into RU-vid, found the many ways she could use her talent. "God given" , I don't even care what you call it. No words can convey
My God... even my soul screams to dance listening to her invitation, so everyone could explode their emotions dancing with the energy of their hearts in this performance! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My mother passed away back in October 2009 she had this album I loved it as a little girl and still love it at 54 I think of my mom each time I hear Ms. Donna Summer Queen of Disco ...she deserves much more credit I feel she was just the very very best ...God bless you Ms. Donna Summers
Это великолепие можно смотреть вечно, наслаждаясь голосом и чувственностью Донны, отдающей себя полностью нам, зрителям! Пока мы есть, пока почитаем и любим, она будет жить!!!!
It's still seen unreal that Donna and Whitney passed away within a few weeks from one another....the Queen of Pop and the Queen of Disco....both gorgeous and talented beyond measure....they are so missed and loved!!!🎤🎵🎶💜👑💚
This was the woman who could hold me in the palm of her hand. True royalty at it's finest. Gone far too soon. I'm 53 and I love her just like when I was twelve. Respectfully.
There was never anyone who could sing with such power and vulnerability at the same time. Personally, I love Rock and Roll. I do not like disco, but I love Donna Summer.
One of the greatest voices in music. Donna could sing any music, she even did a bit of opera. A musical chameleon who changed music. Seriously, she laid the ground work for EDM music and other dance music.
True story about this amazing artist, I was once in a relationship with a music person in Nashville where Donna lived in the 90's. We were invited to the old new Ryman for a musical charity, forgot what the occasion was- there were many big names to name (you can imagine who being in Nashville). Donna was invited because she was close friends with the Governor at the time Phil Bredesen. A few singers had their turn, then Donna was invited off the cuff to sing a couple her hits- WOW, everyone just sort of sat with their mouths open, it was a pipe bomb. Every singer after her was flat. I mean how do you follow Donna Summer? Angelic voice.
Thank you Donna Summer for the voice, the songs, the music and giving sound to our unforgettable and pristine youth. The most beautiful, talented queen.
One of the absolute top female vocalists ever, such an amazing voice and power without shouting as many vocalists do to cover up their lack of vocal power......she was awesome, could fill a dance floor with ease, missed, missed, missed.
Yes, exactly. All of today's singers think that shouting and vibrato singing is in because they actually can't hold a note. Donna Summer could Hold a note with such power and I am also tried of people calling her the Queen of disco, Donna's songs go way beyond "disco" her songs are powerful LOVE songs in ANY genre. That woman could out sing anybody in any type of music. She is THE BEST of the last 40 years as a singer. Love her music and her sweet personality.
The power in her voice, she could destroy buildings with it if she wanted to do so. I love you, Donna Summer. This Live and more Encore DVD brings back so many memories of my childhood... I used to play it all day long.
What an incredible voice and an incredible and amazing performance! So many of the pop stars today are so bad, no one today even comes close to Donna Summer. Celine Dion is an exception, but you have to go back to the last century to hear women who can sing well. We all love you and miss you so much.
@J Crash thank you so much for replying! And yes, there are always new details that we all learn all through the years. Even when being in her 50's, miss Summer delivered perfection all through the show. She was just magnificent!
She got me through my teens and took me into my 20's .Love every song she ever sang .RIP Queen of pop and disco ... You will, be loved and never forgotten.
