I love the number 4. It's quite easy, yet so pretty. When I made gyoza and mandu... I didn't really how to fold, so I just clap the circle into a half circle. It was still tasty though. But I think one method for me is fine to impress other people.
Thank you for imparting these invaluable lessons to the general public. People pay top money for classes of this sort. You are truly doing your audience a huge service. Keep it up and more power 😊
This is an excellent tutorial but I think it might be the voice or sound that's not coming through smoothly, but I agree it's an excellent video. I am excited to make these dumplings really soon. 😋They look so yummy.
Cause peoples prefer to watch fake cooking hacks... Its sad truth but lots of people is not interested about the real process - they want flashy nonsense that takes 5 min even if it not work... Mandy videos show honest process of making something so lazy peoples are not interested... And we as a culture on west became so lazy and spliled
Wow, what a fantastic video and great resource. Thanks for sharing these clear directions. I didn't know there was such a variety of folding methods. They're like little sculptures. 🥟🥟🥟
This is so helpful. Thank you! My partner's family is from China and I want to learn more about Chinese food traditions so I can bond with them better. I'll start practicing now but I hope to make some dumplings for Chinese New Year. :)
Wow! You really have multiple dumpling techniques down! I've never done any without one of those simple cheating gadgets readily available in the US, but they still tasted good to my guests. 😋
Mandy you are a awesome teacher so patient. And VERY generous to post this video when people pay good money for these lessons. I want to Thank you from the bottom of my Southern Texas heart for doing so. I am a bit frustrated as in my city we only have square wrappers available in stores. Can you show some dumpling examples with a square shaped wrapper ? I would be ever so grateful to you. Now I need to practice and step up my wrapper game. Hugs from Texas❤
I really really love your channel. There are not many cooking channels about Asian methods of cooking, so I'm glad you can share this techniques with us. Keep up the good work.
I’m so happy to be Chinese I think learning new things about the culture is both amazing and beautiful thank you for keeping the culture and tradition alive. 🥰😍 💜
Thank you, Mandy, for the detailed folding lesson! I will definitely try each one. I hope you include this lesson in your cookbook! Will that be coming out this year? I can’t wait!!
Btw, I love your channel! I’ve cooked many of your recipes with much success! Talk about impressing my family and friends! 😏. I always share your channel with them! 😊
This is an excellent tutorial.. LOVE ❤️ 💕 THEM All.. the bao shape brought memories of me making it with my dad.. thanks a trillion for childhood memories.. you’re so skilled talented & generous in sharing with us.. God bless you 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Yummm! I have been making your dumplings, but now I can try some of these. You are so talented! I bought your wok and use it at least once a week! I've made many of your recipes. Tomorrow is your wonton soup! Thank you!
SAME! I subbed SO FAST! I have had a big in my ear for months craving these and to learn how to make them...today it has come down to seeking out everything it takes! This channel is pure gold!
Hi Mandy! I just discovered your channel and I love it! I appreciate your descriptions, instruction and explanation of your recipes and technique. It is so helpful when you explain why do use certain techniques or ingredients and the outcome if you don’t. Your sunny personality makes all your tutorials inspiring and educational. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m looking forward to making my own dough and dumpling wrappers. Keep the videos coming!
Wow lovely, and very convenient if you are using multiple fillings at family gatherings... thank you for being so thorough, I'll have to re-watch it closer to the holidays.
In English: This is from Portugal! First of all I want to thank you for your channel. For me it is very rewarding to learn from such a professional and friendly chef!!! I'm studying in the field (kitchen/pastry/bakery) and it's very inspiring to learn with you :))
Yes I absolutely love this video I'm just trying to find somebody to share it to other than just my regular Facebook feed because I don't know very many people that love Asian food like I do I am definitely fascinated and I cannot wait to experiment with all those shapes
They are all amazing!😍😍😍 I have never made dumplings before but my son absolutely loves them. I have everything I need to make them but coordination!🤣🤣🤣 I am no good with dough and the stores here in South Dakota where I live don't carry the pre-made rounds anywhere within 3 hours from here...so I am going to try to make them from scratch. Wish me good luck🥰🥰🥰...I will definitely need it! You make it look so easy! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!👩🍳👩🏫👩🍳 Have a wonderful weekend!⚘⚘⚘
Thanks for this tutorial. I tested out several of them last night with a yummy tofu vegetarian filling. The one I found the easiest and best looking was the gold ingot dumpling. They looked very special.
Mandy, this is so helpful. I now make noodles and dumplings like a pro (okay, not a pro but they taste great and look halfway decent) and am still learning. You gave me the confidence and the knowledge to make fresh noodles and dumpling skins. I have watched this video and the one in which you make fresh egg noodles in a stand mixer so many times. I notice something new every time I watch.
you are so talented. i just made a shoe shape one. love it. i made all different variations from your video. your detailed explanation was simple and easy. thank you for sharing.
You are quite an artist. I'm going to experiment filling these with Texas treats like brisket, taco or tamal fillings, seafood & desserts & fruit. Excited! Thanks for sharing.
those ones that look like flowers are amazing! that homemade wrapper makes such a huge difference, my mom and I made shumai tonight and the store-bought ones cracked at the edges trying to do that, even when we wet the edges. I think her recipe might actually be meant for the four-treasure kind - it talks about putting garnishes like that - so maybe we'll try that method next time! Would love to see you show how to *properly* wrap shumai, and the ones that look like little bags tied with chives(?). I'll have to look through your other videos, but if you haven't demonstrated those ones yet, please make one of that too.
