James I take my hat off to you to be able to take criticism in you jovial stile shows what a gentle man you are, but how on earth you cope with the strain of running the farming company is just incredible to watch, also how uplifting to hear your appreciation of you work force
Great Videos PX Crew. Looks like a great place to work. James you seem like a great lad who really cares about your boys. Almost like a father figure to them all. Great to see and if i were in my 20s I’d be there in a heartbeat. All the best mate.
Great job James. Really appreciate the time you take out of your busy schedule to make these outstanding videos. Most informative videos I’ve seen on RU-vid regarding farming and where our food comes from. Thank you very much Niall🤝
Come to Isaan, N.E. Thailand the weather is fantastic and the rice harvest is just starting this week. You'll love it. Best regards from Nong Khai district.
Thank you for describing what it takes to get the crops from the field to the table. I am sure 50% or more of the population have no clue. Keep up the great work.
Thanks James, another great video. Like all the farmers I follow on RU-vid, you are all at the mercy of the wet weather. I hope you can get some drilling done soon. Looking forward to the next video.
I think Kipling must have written his poem especially for you “ If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run” Time is of the essence. Thanks again for another instructive vid
Hi James, I was going to write to you concerning your interruptions to your great guests on the diversification vids but I forgot as life got in the way. Well done for embracing the constructive comments. The masters at my school used to drill into us - you have 2 ears and one mouth and use them in that order. They then used to cane us!!! How times have changed.
We use beltec at market rasen for our crawler idlers. They put rubber around the rim which stops soil and grit getting in and that makes them last longer
Hopefully ir will come right for you, we thought we were going to be washed out but 3 days later there was dust coming off the rolls! (Shropshire). We should get the beans in this week and we are done but small compared to yourselves 3k acres.
James. Fascinating video. Yes to following food through. Education needs to get in the ear of civil service and rewilding nuts. We cannot lose more food ground in an uncertain world.
Your yard seems to be the Horsch uk nettle patch!! Looking forward to see your wet weather rig running. Run a Horsch 2400lt front tank here with either a weaving gd toolbar or a homemade tined coulterbar on Bourgault vos openers, poor man’s mounted sprinter!
great content as always and love the way there is comedy and good humour always with you and your staff, your glass is defo half full at all times, well done and an inspiration, plus you drive a 100k range rover over fields 🤣🤣 love it immensely
Started watching your videos James a while back, now it’s a must watch. One of the best farming vides (next to Crawford in Perthshire of course ) being Scottish I have to be biased lol😂
Well James , we’ve just had a gorgeous few weeks in Pollença , Majorca at between 25 - 30 degrees apart from 2 early morning rains , just to keep things green . I really wish I hadn’t given farming , I really miss the weather the worry and politics etc . I’m a lot better of now than if I’d kept at it 🤔🙂
Frustratingly you can change the weather you just have to work with it. Do hope the wet deluge was a blip and patterns settle down to normal. If there is such a thing these days. Think of the Malta Hol as an incentive when Autumn drilling finished.
Rain is a disaster here with loads of herbal leys going in for sfi. Soils are capping emergence is patchy and with the huge cost it makes me want to cry. Took 4th cut silage Friday as forecast is crap and need to spray them off for barley. I'm concerned I'm ploughing out productive leys and ending up with rubbish reseeds all in the name of regenerative ag and financial survival.
We had 125 mm in that September wet spell, but you're 240 mm at Bedfordshire farms is stomach churning .I can only assume the river Great Ouse couldn't handle that volume. Good luck ...
James, I know you said that's a wet weather drill, but with all that weight, it is going to travel without making a mess? It will be interesting to see.
James, must be pulling your hair out, surprised you have any hair left with all the rain, but you have a sense of Humor, kudos to you, your staff and it is testament to you that they want the best for the farm. lets hope this tail end of the Hurricane does not cause to many issues.
Cousin Michael isn't the only one who's chipper, my bet is looking good. Only question is when is the weigh-in. Last day of drilling? As Chairman of an agricultural show I feel for all the shows still to run this year, most of the smaller shows have one pay day and when it doesn't happen it's a big issue for the Societys to keep going. Our show is in July and there's a lot of praying goes on I can assur you. Keep your pecker up tomorrow theres a 50% chance of being different from the day before.
How is the forward visibility with that larger front hopper on the wet weather drill. The camera shot gives the impression it is bad. Perhaps a front camera might help save your gate posts........
James, I’ve been drinking homemade fizzy apple or orange with 20% juice and 80% sparkling water. Tastes just like Appletizer and Orangina. Not cola flavoured, but certainly better for you!
James, all wonderful stuff, detailed, telling us the the why, where, who and when. Wish the other 99.9,% of the population would understand what goes on in real farming. All the planning, investment, time, people and all the other businesses that you need and THEY need all stopped by just a bit of rain. Keep telling the story, we need food here, not in Australia or Brazil. When Iran and Israel kick off it will come home to roost.
Companion Crop Lol..know a farmer how would not let anyone do the drilling... end up putting wheat on one side of the drill and Barly on the other side.. in a field by the road.. now that Companion Croping..lol, Frank you know How you are...
