After having my first child in 2002, I started seeking the Lord. I only got saved in 2008 and to make very long testimony, short, I resigned from my job as a flight attendant, wanting to serve fulltime for the Kingdom of God. I just believed God would provide. He did, but completely different from what I ever dreamt. We went through extremely difficult times, loosing all income, our businesses, property and so forth. My husband ( not saved) came out as gay and left us three. It was and is difficult, but God always provided. We always had a roof over our heads, a bed to sleep in, food on the table and electricity and much more. Both my children are studying at university at the moment, with full bursaries. We are so blessed because we were forced to live very close to God and that freed us from so many things. We live heavenly minded, because we know we are just passing through this world, trying to spread the Good News of Jesus. Looking back, I will always be grateful for these hard times, because we were taught so much and we are still growing. Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!

I would love to stay at home with my kids, but my husband can't see past the money I make as a nurse. He tells me that we just can't make it, even though we live very frugally (doing all of the things you've suggested). I have prayed for 15 years for God to change my husband's heart. My oldest is a sophomore this year (we homeschool on my days off) and I'm so sad that'll never get to be a stay at home mom with him. Please pray for my husband to trust God's providence.

Could you talk to him about cutting back on your hours or we're still working as a nurse in a different capacity where you feel you could be better used as a Christian? I'm a nurse also but I've been on disability for quite a while and it is a well-paying profession so I can understand how your husband would be hesitant. Saying a prayer for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I was always in the same situation you are in . I am a dental hygienist and my husband just couldn’t see past the money. I never was able to quit my job , my kids are grown . Let me give you some insight. My kids went to public schools but church was a constant as well as family and a fairly tight reign on the kids . My kids are grown , they turned out just fine and are Christians . They both went thru very brief periods of the party life for my son , my daughter moved in with a guy but both of these times were short lived and once each child came back to the Lord , they have been very settled , sweet and loving grown ups. I am very good at what I do and my patients love me and I am in the work world meeting and praying for my patients every day. I feel my ministry is my work . Looking back I am very glad I did not stop working because the world needs people out in it who are caring Christen people ..Ik it’s hard and u feel pulled to stay home but we all have a different journey and I’m sure your skills as a nurse bring comfort and aid to many people you serve..Let your work be your ministry. I have patients I pray for daily that have no idea I am praying for them ..

This is a piece of advice I heard somewhere, probably not until I had been married several years, but, I wish I had been told this from the very beginning. (*Obviously, this should be agreed upon w/ your future spouse.) Anyway, here goes! If the wife will continue to work until the first child comes, (whenever that may be), save her income. All of it, if possible! Try, as best as you can to only live on the husband’s income alone. Even if you think the wife will go back to work after 6-8 weeks. There are a few reasons for this. Many women decide they just can’t leave the baby. Some women physically aren’t able to return to work for one reason or another. But above all that, you discipline yourselves to live on one income *and* build up a savings account for a rainy day. Win-win! (Would the younger me have listened? Probably not. 🥴 But if you are the type to see benefits of it, good for you!)

Put it on paper. See if you can at least go perdiem. ONE day ca week This time never comes again. 35 years as a nurse. My kids will tell you they felt it. My son's wife didn't work. He lives frugally. My daughter is a teacher she stayed home as long as she could until her husband got sick. What I'm saying v is they missed me when I was gone and they felt the loss enough to do it differently.

It was almost a year ago now that I wasn't happy with my job and something was weighing heavy on my heart. I took a look at what I thought were necessary expenses to cut so I could quit. Low and behold, I was only working to pay for our kids postsecondary education (which they were almost done and we had the balanced saved) and all the extra gravy in life. Then I noticed my father looking more and more ill and I just knew deep down time was going to run out. I quit my job on a Friday and the following Tuesday he was diagnosed with cancer....all through him cancer. I spent every day with him and helped my mother for almost 2 months before he passed and I never regretted the time. So thankful I listened to the voice in my head urging me to re-evaluate my priorities and be where I was needed.

My husband through a series of events has just gone full time ministry. I am a stay at home mom. We already lived super minimally as we live in an rv and did part time ministry. But now, there's no dollars. But somehow, on time, dollars are Appearing. I've started my own side hustle. AND we are beginning a RU-vid channel. Thank you so much for all the info , encouragement and perspective in your videos. May God bless you and keep you and your family ❤

Thank you for this video. Gave me lots of ideas, going to watch again and take notes. My husband and I work 9 to 5s.. we drop our 1 yr old baby boy at daycare everyday. Not in a million years did I see myself as a working mom. I want to be home with our boy. Being a home maker. That's where I belong. But we have fallen into that "trapped there's no way out" feeling. Going to dig deeper and pray.

My husband and I have been without jobs brimging in consistent income for 2 years now. We were given a house we're flipping for incom, and we often share how God has basically been miraculously provided for us in these last 2 years. It is a constant trusting and surrendering. We are currently in a low spot, but my husband and I encourage one another that we have EXACTLY what we need in this moment. We shall not want. God is so good to us. It feels like we're living in a different reality sometimes!

I have done most of this except I’m keeping my car😅 I’m 1 of the best dressed women I know and just about everything I wear is from thrift shops except shoes which I buy on clearance racks. I’m able to tithe and support other ministries like rescuing children from the slave trade. I’m 68 and still able to work as a cook part time. Besides my job and social security, I have no other retirement $. I have an heavenly account and my Father takes good care of me. He is a King.

It is a blessing to be able to and I 100% agree with everything you've said and we are in the process of scaling down as well! Eating out is a big one for us and we had quite the internal battle of going to Chik Fil A or eating at home tonight.... we ended up eating at home which was a huge win for us! Hi from sunny South Africa: thanks for all your commonsense applicable advice. I chose to become a stay at home mom after the birth of my first child. When she was 14 years old my pastor husband died in a motor vehicle accident en route to a mission outreach in Malawi. I prayed about the situation and decided my priority was to still be available for my children. I had to learn to live by faith and trust the Lord for His provision, guidance, protection etc etc. Still going strong since my decision in 1997. He is ALWAYS faithful. I have never regretted my choice to follow His leading and l would choose to repeat the same course of action.

Great content! My husband and I live on very little ourselves. People would be shocked on how little we make and live on. lol! I'm thankful the Lord gave both of us the ability and talent to be content with less. We can even cut back more, so that's our goal. Thankful to use our time to serve more in our church with the youth and through Operation Christmas Child as a year-round volunteer. I am open to the possibility of getting a more set job with a set income, but for the last 8yrs, the Lord has provided everything we need and even some of our wants! Thanks for sharing your tips!

During the summer i work retail and then come september i am back to teaching. I would never give up my teaching career, I feel it is my calling and i love every second of it! However! I HATE working retail! So many times i just wanted to quit and be home with my kids this summer and the depression was real!!!!! I made it so my last day was saturday and that gave me 5 days off before the start of the school year. I have been doing all the homemaking stuff and just soaking it in! I am going to use these tips so i never have to step foot inside the mall again to work during the summer! We felt it was impossible to survive the summer on only my husbands income alone as we live in an extremely expensive area where rent is out of control and things like electricity, gas and food are so expensive it should be illegal!

Love your ministry here. Found I'm extremely happy with making do. Love using the mind God gave me to be creative. Have been care taking others for years. At one point I had an Ebay Store but closed it because it was too much. Recently reopened it and the Lord has blessed me mightily. When our children were young I left the workplace to be a stay at home mom. I did full time day care five days a week while raising my kids, keeping a home and saving a pot load. Cloth diapers are the absolute best dollar savers. The Lord will provide, don't ever think he won't. This Christmas all family members will be receiving gifts from the many things the Lord has provided us already. Everyday provides the best surprises everyday. Just do all you do as for the Lord.😊

I endorse your plan wholeheartedly. I raised 5 kids on second hand stuff. I chose to be a stay at home mom and knew with one income we had to be frugal. I was raised that way since my dad only had temp jobs for 6 years (from my 6-12th yr in school), my 4 brothers and I didn't realize that we were poor.

Thanks for the encouragement. Putting all my faith in God these days. He led me to carnivore a year and a half ago, so when it wasn't healing me as fully as I'd hoped, I found I had CIRS. The treatment for this will take away all the money I still have left, and being too sick to work for years makes the struggle very discouraging. I take it all to God in prayer. He tosses me a bone now and then. I have had a very blessed life, in spite of illness. Molding me into the person he wants me to be is not a Swedish massage, for sure. So, just trusting, trusting, trusting.

My first time watching any of your videos and your information and advice is very encouraging, but it's hard when you're doing it alone as far as trying to make major Financial changes. My mother lives with me and I think it freaks her out when I talk about budgeting and eating inexpensively things like that, even though she is very good with her money. I watch videos like this to be educated and get encouragement but most of the time I just want to cry. I'm 62 and I'm on disability with a mortgage and a lot of debt and every source of money that I was hoping to be able to access has been a dead end. My savings is gone and even through all this I do trust God to take care of me and my mother but sometimes it's very stressful because I don't know exactly how he's going to do that. 😢😢

This has been a huge blessing to hear. We have been hit with some rough circumstances the past several years and I can’t be consistent enough to work. I just finished homeschooling my youngest son in June and am so glad I had those years with him, but the hope had been that I could transition from part-time to full-time work once he graduated. Because of that little bit of income we had some freedom with our finances, but now that’s not the case. We do trust the Lord to see us through but the thing we are trying to figure out is how we can honor our debts on such a tight budget now. I have been so grateful for the times God led me to learn to do certain things that were not on my radar so that now while things are so crazy I have some options. God always does provide. Please pray for my husband though, as he is in a season where there is a lot of stress and burden and discouragement as my health concerns him.

That's a wild journey to go from six figures to not knowing what you'll get. Under $200k is honestly money to barely get by in California where we are at. Close enough to my husband's work that's what it takes to afford rent and a used car payment. But we might be moving to another state, and it's been nerve-wracking because he would be making less but it just might be necessary. We were under poverty level when I got the surprise of the positive pregnancy test. We were both told there was almost no chance we would reproduce, I was even on the pill. And yet! We had to live with family, I had no one trustworthy to watch my child that would cost less than what I'd be making. It made no sense to return to work. When we hear someone say "I want to be a stay at home mom, but we just can't afford it"...we try not to eye roll. To us it's like "You have enough money to go to work?! And leave an infant or toddler with someone...?!" Lol I was looking back into continued medical training when my child was in public school for 2.5 years- but we discovered abuse. We had just barely left the abusive family situation where we lived and were scraping by in a slum apartment in the ghetto. But we were able to make it work. We had one used car that kept breaking down. No a/c in 90 degree weather. 😮‍💨 lol Like it was pretty bad. I was even sick from the mold and stuff in the building. And the stress around us. But we made it out of there. Praise God we learned from the bad and the good now is such a contrast. We still get by and it's a very old apartment but a pretty safe area and not unhealthy. It's easy to compare to family that has a lot of money, and even the neighborhood not far from us is full of $1-4 million dollar homes, it's easy to get caught up in "oh man- that would be SO nice...we are still so poor", I sleep on a cot, our apartment is high VOC, our clothes are so worn down...blah blah blah... But when I take a chance to stop and appreciate what we have, where we were, and where many are in the world, I feel so blessed and even recognize how much excess we do still have! I feel like I'm wealthy in spirit when I stop and breathe and recognize what we have! I am so happy to be able to homeschool and to have my family, and we have a safe clean place to sleep, and food to eat, clean water to drink... hallelujah! 🎉✨🌻🕊️ it's a lot better than what many people have in the world. Even in the USA.

Second hand is the way to go. I ALWAYS find what I’m looking for eventually. The thrift store by me has a lot of items with tags still on them. As far as clothes, learn to hand stitch, and get some shoe glue- it will vastly extend the life of your clothes. Also, dresses last so much longer than jeans. I save so much money just by wearing dresses.

Interesting. ❤ I definitely need to do more band sewing than I do, but usually I am fine with holes. 😂 That's one thing being stay at home, TBH I wear what's comfortable most times. Not what looks good necessarily. If we are staying in I've even made a shirt/dress for my kids from a pillow case. 😊 Just be aware to not go too nuts with glue! A lot of that, even listed as "non toxic" can be bad for you. And cotton is the way to go! I definitely love a good cotton dress with pockets. I wear a lot of things like swim covers that look like normal dresses...I don't think anyone is the wiser and they are much cheaper on sale than dresses of the same material! We buy mid- quality hiking shoes and walking shoes because we do that a lot and have back and knee problems...but they last a long time- the ones I have now have lasted about 3 years and are just starting to get worn down. If the color I like is more expensive by $3+ I will probably choose the ones I think are ugly to save. We actually get cheap dressy/formal shoes and boots because we don't wear them much. I'd love a nice pair of leather boots but just not in the cards at this time. Maybe I could find some at a thrift shop! ❤ it doesn't rain much out here so I have cheap silicone shoe booties instead of actual rain boots. Or I've worn my snow boots in the rain, they were gifted to me though. I don't think I'd buy snow boots for once a year.

God does provide. I can look at our life over 34 years of marriage and God has provided. I was a stay home mom /wife . Once our kids were in school for a full day then I could clean some homes for people that I got names from at church that needed help. My husbands income pretty much took care of most of our bills. So I have cleaned homes on and off for 16 years. Now we are empty nesters and my father lives with us. He pays some rent to live here so that goes into our budget. I clean one house and I clean bathrooms in our community. That brings in a tad. It is so true what you have said about secondhand. I have bought used stuff since I was 18. I am not saying I have never bought new but I but used about 75 percent of the time. God has always provided for our needs. I think in America today we look at wants many times as needs. There is a lot we can live without. We learn that we have come to places where we have had too. I would rather have peace with God and my relationship than tons of stuff. So thank you for sharing about your finances. God is faithful . We just have to trust as you said. God keep blessing you all as you do his work for the kingdom.

@ari3lz3pp 11 месяцев назад
@@sharontarin1310If you have a large family I would think something like Good Ranchers would be a deal... My family is not on a strict carnivore diet but we do eat a lot of meat more than other things. I noticed going to a deli or butcher is pretty good for many cuts, but also getting frozen when on sale. I think the main thing is portion control, and not being afraid to cook plenty in advance for the week or what not... Even to freeze what you cook. To really save you have to be comfortable with leftovers. I'm somebody that hates leftovers. I'm pretty terrible but I've got better! It's been easier also to leave parts of dishes separately stored so that I can add some variety throughout the week.... Though I do think this would be difficult with a carnivore diet If you do no sauces lol. We get organic eggs and in my opinion that's still fairly affordable if you don't eat a whole bunch at once. Eggs usually last about a month after the said expiration date... You can do the testing method with floating them in water.. But most times I've got used to just winging it and seeing if they smell funny. 😅 I've got away with eating eggs that are 2 months after the sell by date and we've been fine. Heidi and other influencers have mentioned using tea if you feel like you're still hungry. I think that is a great idea. I believe it's moringa tea that is said to also be filling. I'm still learning a lot about tea but we use it as a common remedy and preventative care.

I'm not some influencer but wanna answer! Lol I have been at home for over a decade since we had our first baby, originally because we couldn't afford for me to return to work. Unfortunately in this economy and in CA it's expensive, but with a very hungry pre teen and my husband still eats a lot...we spend around $500/ month on food and drink. It's a lot more than it was a few years ago. But I think we do pretty well. Most people we know spend a lot more. And we get organic and such a lot. I finally got my husband to stop buying cookies and soda etc. We buy cheap treats for the kids (w/o high fructose and stuff too...or I make treats), and if my child didn't need juice to help down CBD oil we would barely get that ever. I know drinks are something a lot of families seem to spend a lot of money on. We love sparkling waters too but it's a splurge now, or something we get if on sale. I do get teas and coffee (at home, organic), but rarely get creamer. I usually use a half a tsp of organic coconut manna in my coffee and that's nice enough. It's expensive initially but lasts quite a long time. Also my husband buys chips which I am not a fan of. Lol I think stuff like that is unecessary and takes away from the budget. Most times no one NEEDS chips, it's usually a boredom thing, or could be eating a handful of healthy almonds or something else filling. ❤

Honestly we’re not doing any kind of diet. Just mainly a lot of our stuff is frozen stuff from Sams club. It’s how we get by honestly. The kids get chicken nuggets we do like lasagna we did last night. The day before a big pot pie they sell there. We get frozen veggies. Then fresh fruit that I give my kids. We do a lot of Mac n cheese and baked beans. Chicken sometimes fish very rarely. We’ve gotten to eaten terrible. So I’m looking to learn a budget because my husband gets paid every week and the budget is anywhere between 100-200 every week. But we are talking about cutting down on our food budget to do tithes or gas to get back and forth to church. Our church is 40 minutes out and we don’t agree with finding a local church. Our church is everything to us. But I want to make healthy meals for my family on a low budget.

I'm not Heidi 😅 but I think that's a great idea, especially if it's in a way they can get experience doing something they will want to do for a career/consistent work. If possible though I'd suggest looking into something like a custodial Roth IRA ... and to help them learn how to invest and save that way. Then when they are older they can access those funds. I'm just looking into it myself so don't know more, but the earlier the better! ❤
