I'll be honest, I feel like Shingo, with his Abyss Actors, deserved at least one win. While not the most powerful, the Abyss Actors can be quite powerful.
Wish the villains actually got more pendulum summons as we do see it's possible to make cards immediately after studying yuyas cards and they are literally fighting duel academy. It felt like the show was saying "other mechanics secondary. Pendulum is the best" like gx but bigger.

My favorite one out of all of them was Kurosaki's only pendulum summon against the Obelisk Force. That duel was such a crescendo of awesomeness with everyone interrupting only to prepare for the instance where he would summon Revolution Falcon and completely decimate all of them in one blow. Arc-V's first half is an absolute treasure.
Halil had the best pendulum summon. "What" "hey, come on" 😂. When Reiji summoned 3 Doom King Armageddon against Yuya in their first duel is another one of my favorites.
Yeah I thought that was cool. Was afraid they would have him relying on the same 2 monsters to pendulum. So it made the duels more interesting when he had to use other monsters to set the scale.
the best part about pendulum summons is that no matter how ridiculous the monster looks, they get to stare very seriously into the camera inside their little pendulum pillar, lmao
It's still salty that Yuzu doesn't have any Pendulum Monsters for her archetype considering that she's Yuya's best friend (but Serena, who showed up later, does have Pendulum Monsters. Just to add insult to injury) Granted, Yuzu has two canonical Pendulum Monsters in her Decks, but neither are related to her archetype.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 a lot of the main cast getting pendulum cards is dependent on their interactions with Reiji. Yuzu was kidnapped before Reiji got too much time with her. All the lancers besides Shun got Pendulum cards if they weren’t using them already. And Shun only didn’t get them because he refused. Lore wise, Reiji was the only person who can supply Pendulum cards to people.
After Gx, I didn't really watched any yugi oh anime . I was really lost in touch with yugi oh mechanics such synchro and xyz. But 2-3 years back, i tried to learn all the summoning method and have fun with them in duel links. I also learned how there are some people rage against pendulum cause afraid it will be to broken. Thus,making pendulum decks have slow support release over time. For me, pendulum is a very interesting method summoning. It has many advantages play but also drawbacks. If you can't get enough scales range, you can't do it and it's essentially need 2 cards to be as scales. I hope there will be a new pendulum archetype

I think the ‘flashiness’ thing is that unless they were usually an opening move. The show had a big focus on pend>ed summon plays so the summon wasn’t normally the lynchpin, the ed monster was. This is why i think ones like reiji and yuyas first pendulum summons get the most impact.
Yuzu could have been the 1st girl character to use all summoning methods if they wanted to make her a good female lead and continue to let her crave for her to be stronger like Yuya and could have had a Yuya vs Yuzu part 2 duel with them being serious. Another injustice is Dennis needs more of his cards printed.
Real! Here’s what I’m thinking that could have happened with Yuzu and using all summoning methods. She learns Fusion from Sora, could have learned Synchro from Yugo, XYZ from idk, she learns it somehow, and maybe even Ritual summoning from Asuka
@@flareongirl3606 If they didn't kill Yuto off early he could have taught her Xyz summoning, Her XYZ dimension counter-part could have taught her if her counterparts were handled better or Masumi could have gotten Dipper to teach her. Even Kurosaki could have since they barely even interacted except the time when he mistook her for his sister.
It does bug me that more characters didn’t get to Pendulum summon. Granted I am more annoyed that it translates to less variety in terms of Pendulum monsters. There really doesn’t feel like there are enough different ones considering that entertainment was a big theme of Arc V and there are different genres when it comes to entertainment. Now I just have to sit back and hope that they’ll release the odd pendulum that fits different kinds of decks now and then while enjoying my favorite Arc V episodes.
So, going back to the "pendulum summons in the anime don't look as cool as the other methods" I argue that they decided to make the summoning different because while all the other methods focus the camera work on the Monsters like Synchro, Xyz and Link (for example, shooting star, N39 utopia and firewall darkfluid), they decided to focus more on the character and make the monsters just appear unless they're the ace(s) or the key to victory when in reality it's the fact that the character brought all those monsters and not certain monsters in between of the rest they brought.
As someone who only ever really played yugioh with my brother and his friends growing up, i have nothing but good memories with pendulum for the real card game And when it comes to the anime, arc v was up with 5ds for me in terms of hype and quality, until it went to shit, but the mechanic as a whole nevr bothered me because i never cared about meta anything even in pokemon for me to go "no it made the game to fast" i watch the anime and id rather interesting duels than the same my opponent cant counter anything i play that real yugioh has become
indeed. competitive yugioh is way to toxic for me to enjoy, so i just fool around with casual decks and there are a bunch of casual pendulum decks that are super fun. like abyss actors
@@nella544 same, i understand the point of competition as a whole, but when people blame 1 mechanic for people being cheese i just have to look at them and go, i could have never come up with half the strategies people make and card combinations so was it really the mechanics fault or are some people just better than you, i can admit people are better than me at things but some people cant
Also to talk about the mechanic for a bit, the best part of pendulum summoning is always the scale in the sky, the monsters themselves dont have a moment where they form out of the void like xyz summons, like the monsters single frame of it appearing is the least interesting part of the summon compared to the placing the scales and the arc and the lights, if anything the most indepth a summon was happened super later in arc v when Yuya summoned 5 monsters at once against jack
Video idea if you’re interested: Characters using the summoning method not the focus of their series. It wouldn’t be long honestly, but with each series post DM primarily focusing on specific methods it is cool when they do something from a past one.
The main reason pendulum summoning was so broken was do to it being able to let the user use other summoning methods with it which in my opinion gave us some of the best scenes from the series mostly those with Yuya going berserk mode on some poor unfortunate soul or souls depending on the duel.
I’m still waiting for more Cyberse pendulums, though as an alternative I would take them bringing Pendulumstatues out of the anime and making more of them for each type and attribute (2 to each type/attribute, one to boost ATK and one to boost DEF)! I feel like those cards could make Pendulum summoning relevant without breaking them all over again!
I'm thinking a lot of focus on Pendulum isnt in the monsters it makes, but in how it serves as a tool for the story. One, it helps facilitate other summoning mechanics, and 2, a lot of the cool moments are cool because of the context, like the first time a character pendulums vs the actual visuals or monsters being summoned being notable.

I think the problem with pendulums we never got something like over scale pendulum from the anime. I think that those harder to summon boss pendulum monster were really missing. Even though Zarc is technically a pendulum monster it can’t be really summoned back. Actually it would be great if they did something like that. I’m mean pendulums biggest strength is the ability to summon them back even though it died.
It's beyond funny how Zarc literally says "Pendulum monsters are immortal! No matter how often they are defeated, they will always return.", even tho he himself needs help from supportcards to accomplish that.

That what is wished happened, like for Odd-Eyes (Pendulum Dragon) to get an Overscale evolution. Sure he’s got a lot of evolutions, but what’s one more… And for Raging Dragon to have been a Overscale form instead of an Xyz Monster (he’s still badass, but I just liked the idea of Overscale)
I wish they made a new version of Zuzu named Zuzu Obsidian a new Zuzu who wasn’t a part of Ray. Let’s say that if a second Yugioh Zexel series happens after Yuma defected Zexel Kite in a duel where he goes to the Arc V word due to having Arc V verison of of Spencer, Duke, and Kite existed in that world and the show will take place form there but with no Yuya, Declan, Yusho, Yoko, no you boys, and no LID including Leo. Let’s just say this Yuyas love interest is Zuzu Boyle Yuma second love interest is Zuzu Obsidian same hair color but with long hair and no bracelet. I also want to include new versions of Lulu, Rin, and Celina with long hair by not being a part of Ray
I’d like to see you do a ranking vid of every Maximum Monster so far. Not sure we will see them in Go Rush but I think it would be cool to rank the summon mechanic exclusively to Rush Duels.

The Biggest injustice to the show is the Number of Pendulum Summon cards that came out after the show was finished and didn't get to make a premier in the show wish they would try and due something about that but no that they've went threw too many of them..

Pendulum summons weren't really the name of the game in Arc V. I think it's more likely that the chants helped influence more than the summoning style itself. Kinda a swap from summons being so prevalent to the build up and show being important and the summoning being a crescendo to cap it off.
