Which test questions fall under Branch circuit and Feeders, is just sizing conductor sizes and overcurrent questions , I just took my masters past Monday failed my calculations portion by one question. You’re videos are the best on RU-vid, i appreciate what you do.
on the motor short circuit / ground fault protection, the question about 7.5 HP 230v the calculations you mentioned was 40 x 8.00 = 350 I calculated 320? next size up would be 325 answer C. ? I'm not sure if I'm missing a step?
Thank you for your videos. But I have a question on the second question box fill calculations. Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but according to 314.16 (b) (4) each yolk would have a double volume allowance in accordance with table 314.16 (b). So going to the table , for example, the size of my conductor 12 in.³ is 2.25 so we were times that by two so for each yoke with 12 wire, running to it, we would count that as 5 in.³. So I came up with 48 answer A. Thank you
On the question at 23:14 of the video, it asks about using THHN, which only exists in the 90 degree C column of the ampacity table, so when you choose the final size based on 186.75 amps, shouldn't the answer come from the 90 degree column, which would be 2/0?
When sizing over current protection for motors, I thought you are supposed to use the tables in 430.247, 248,249......and not the motor nameplate current
24:10 we just gonna let it slide that b was really 2/0 :P. i was pressed when i found my answer and it wasn't up there only for him to come up with the same answer and just the answer options lol
