SJT, you know what I like best about your videos ? You’re always so polite as to not record when many people are around. That a very respectful thing for you to do. I also love your sense of humor. In the late 70’s, my uncle was stationed in Okinawa. I remember post cards … so beautiful. I just found your channel a month ago and I’ll bet I’ve went back and watched a years worth of videos ( always hitting the like button). I noticed today that I hadn’t subscribed, so … as I pressed the subscribe button, I was singing Sunflower 🌻. 😊. Thanks for the wonderful videos !

So, take your own pillow, is what I'm hearing. I always enjoy watching your ferry videos, even more when you take us to less visited parts of Japan.

I went on a cruise from Texas through the Gulf of Mexico with stops in Belize and the Caribbean. We were outrunning a tropical storm behind us. The first night we experienced huge waves. They had to gather passengers on the pool deck because tons of people were getting seasick, it was a site to see with women in evening gowns and dudes in tuxes. Needless to say, the only ones not affected were us partaking in heavy drinking.

That boat, at 9:00 mark, transported me from Belgium to the UK in the late 80's, I was very excited as a kid to be on it. I'm always happy to see it still sailing along in Japan. I hope you can revue it some day!

The port infrastructure of all the island ports is very impressive. Including sliding metal doors to make a sea wall in bad weather.

I love the pillow, not!! But I will admit that Naha looks like a very vibrant place to live.

That bedding looked like something straight from a prison. I think being in a pod capsule would be more enjoyable than this room, especially when its 25 hours on that ship. I give you a lot of credit for the things you have to sleep on.

The camera usually can't capture how large waves are, so I know you were in some pretty big seas! Glad your medicine helped you.

this is real uncharted territory never expected I would get to watch ever. from southernmost kyushu island city to restricted zone Okinawa island in Japan sea. thrilling.

I took the okinawa to kagoshima route in January this year. My brother insisted on taking a ferry because of your videos.

Gotta say Japanese forklift operators are something else.

yes, just hearing the name makes me think of sewol because this is the old name according to the source wikipedia sewol was originally called naminoue It's just that the Sewol had a side door in the bow when it was sold to Korea. When it was sold to Korea, the side door was removed and its capacity was increased, which was one of the causes of the accident and many innocent people became victims

Interesting. a true multi role ship purpose built for an island route no doubt. Not only can she take passengers and vehicles, she can also carry containers as deck cargo, and has a deck crane to load and unload without shore assistance.

I think a light sleeping bag and a camping pillow would be a great investment for these trips.

You were lucky that they provided pillow cubes, they are good for side sleepers. I always sleep on one because they are so comfortable.

Great trip. The room actually isn't bad, but the blanket with history and the pillow is something, also can't imagine of seasick effect inside this room since the Windows located outside your room. Yeah, everytime i watching Okinawa Ferry trip, two things came in my mind are: Ferry rarely to loading vehicle, especially truck (except military vehicle or maybe bike) and the Japanese container loaded at vehicle deck.

I would love to take these ferries everywhere like you do, but the constant announcements would drive me crazy 🤪
