Thank you very much for sharing your hability and your knowledge, I have learned and enjoyed a lot watching and listen to you. Glad to hear you will continue and continue and continue... Greetings from América latina.
Your a real inspiration in my life - thank you so much.. ordered my my DD500 last night..and rewatching your series on ambient guitar making. Oil painting does it for me and yes walking in sciences exactly like you show in this video but in the North West of England in the United Kingdom. My plan is to play right by the stream I love.
That's a lot of views. congratulations. Well earned. The thing with the guitar, ambient or any other style, you learn something every time you pick it up and play. Ambient lets you try so many different effects and allows you to do something different all the time. We live in a great time to be guitar players.
25M!!! What a milestone, but it is well deserved, your content is very good, and your personality is what makes this a great channel. Congrats! I ask the Lord to give me strength and courage to follow the path which I know I was born to walk.
Congratulations, Bill! Looking forward to many more years of inspiration! Love what you do and been inspired by it for a long time. Thanks for all the hard work and playing from the heart!
Congrats with the 25 million views, Bill and sharing your ambient guitar journey. It has been very helpful for me as a ambient guitarist! :) Thank you!
With you every step of the way, Bill. Long may the journey continue. Similar to you, I'm inspired by a sense of place, and landscapes: the vast and spectacular, and the quiet, hidden places. All of this provides the fuel for my ambient music.
Inspiration could be everything. The situations, feelings, nature, work, conversations, just a touch, everything that don't let you sleep, or everything that brings you joy and happiness, or just a short moment where the sun shines through the dark clouds...and so much more. If there is something that touches my soul, bad or good, I'm trying to express it with music. For me it's a kind of therapy and a way to find out what the feeling is all about. Maybe it's because I always want to know what I feel and why. It helps me to understand my situation and to find solutions, if necessary. I couldn't live with out my guitars and baritones.
Congrats! Your music (especially "Make us Relics", which I still love) taught me the appeal of ambient guitar. With the pandemic I began making videos and making ambient music and letting people listen to it brings me much needed peace of mind. Thanks, Bill!
Thank you Bill! This video has just reminded me how much I appreciate your work. I wish you the best of health and many many more years of guitar playing!
Really have appreciated your channel, especially the outstanding gear reviews and the inspiring insights about music and life. Congratulations. P.S. Would love more of your takes on acoustic guitar music and ambient acoustic sounds.
The Cleveland aquarium is built in a decommissioned brick power house. One passage way had ambient music playing, slow disco lights moving and the fish floating in tanks that were fitted in brick alcoves. I used to steal a 2 min. Respite on a bench with that ambient music. When we took our little kids on Sunday afternoons. Your music reminds me of that happy place.
I just started an ambient music channel and took a video at that aquarium to use on my first post. I have a few others posted since but please check it out. Exit 222 is the channel name. This guy is the best and really inspired me to start playing ambient music. It’s a work in progress but it’s so fun to play and create.
0:33 HA I got you, you FOOL! I can't believe you've fallen for my ruse all this time. I only play really _bad_ ambient guitar music, I can't play really cool ambient guitar music! 😄🤣😂🥲😢😭 (Love you and your videos!)
Just keep being you, Bill. 25,000,000 may be just a drop in the ocean, but without it the ocean isn't complete. That's too philosophical for 7.30am, where did I put my coffee...
Clean notes in timed spaces and depth. Something harmonic and a laid back feel. No pumping and grinding with over over drives and fuzz tones. Driving beats and screams of what they call rock n roll. Ambient guitar allows introspection and contemplation. There is a time and place for all, but Ambient guitar allows one assessment to there spot in the big universe.
Love your work Bill. Still coming to terms with ambient guitar, have some pedals but can't produce very inspiring environments or soundscapes where to play or improvise. Sometimes but in general it's a bit frustrating. Thanks for your inspiration! Cheers from Uruguay by the 🌊
I've only just started playing ambient guitar. Before I discovered your videos, I didn't even know that such a thing actually existed. What inspires me the most is experiencing nature, especially through hiking in my home area in southern Germany.
When I see the Snowdon mountain range, from Beaumaris in North Wales, it is an inspiration and encouragement to creat, not only music, but photographs as well.
Thank you so much for the inspiration to start my journey into the world of ambient music. It’s so much fun playing and creating new music. If interested my channel is Exit 222. Would love to know which songs you like. And congratulations! So amazing on all the views.
A) Bill you're awesome B) What effects if any would work with a mic'ed instrument like Sax for a horn player on a budget trying to get ambient sound out of something besides keyboards? 🤔
Thanks so much! As far as non-guitars go, here's a piece that I did with a soprano recorder. There's information regarding the effects and signal chain. I think it would work great on a sax!
I make all of my videos in the garden while looking out at the pond and mountains. The music doesn't flow for me while sitting in a studio. Unfortunately, loud automobile exhaust systems are popular, forcing me to toss most recordings. Sad, really. Every now and then, I'll get 5 or 6 minutes of peace. Sieze the moment!
