Awesome videos man! Me and my girl are coming up July 2-9 (she has family there) and have been watching your videos non-stop! Anything particularly neat happening for July 4th?
Love that you always promote public transit. I happily got rid of my car after moving to Chicago. One tip I would add is that if you have an iPhone with Apple Wallet and the Ventra app, you can use your phone to tap onto the train. If you're visiting town, saves you $5 on buying a Ventra card. The day/week/monthly passes are the way to go.
You nailed it with this video. Well done! These are things everyone traveling to the area needs to keep in mind including myself. I hope that so many people can visit Chicago several times because it takes quite a few visits to take it all in. Great tips here! And I agree your channel is the best, I know more people will find your videos resourceful 😀👍
@Amanda Arndt, I agree! 💯💯💯 I was wondering when he was going to mention the *SEARS* Tower, and then when he did, the way he did it made me laugh! Of course, -Willis- no longer owns the Sears Tower, and they lose the naming rights in 2025 to the Blackstone Group. -Willis- Tower, which once reigned the skyscraper ranking as the world's tallest building for nearly 25 years under its former name Sears Tower, will likely not be renamed again anytime soon as the naming rights contract with -Willis- Towers Watson insurance does not expire until March 2025. Crain's Chicago Business reports that United Airlines, by far the largest tenant in the 110-story tower, could potentially also make advances towards putting its name on its headquarters building after hinting at such aspirations in the past. "It's unclear whether Aon, which already has its name on one of the city's most recognizable towers-Aon Center in the East Loop-would have the right to unilaterally change the name," Crain's adds. "If Aon can change it, it's conceivable that the city could soon have Aon Center and Aon Tower in a flex of the company's skyline muscle." That should be fun.🙄
I'm travelling to Chicago for the first time next week (well technically the second time, but the first time I never left Union Station) and I am glad I found your videos! I was a bit intimidated about getting out and exploring the city but you've put me a lot more at ease with your content!
Will be in the Chi for the first time next Thursday… as a New Yorker not much gets me hype… but Chicago has always been on my bucket list… huge Jordan Bulls fan and Kanye… going to the Cubs game… gonna eat everything I can too. Watched a few of your vids brother, good looks on the info, ideas and suggestions 🙏🏼
I’ve just subscribed. This channel has best content about Chicago than anyone. Quick informative, really clear, doesn’t drag on. Great Chanel 👍 I’m coming to Chicago in July for my 40th birthday…can’t wait!! 😎 first time and this Chanel has really helped! 👍
Love your channel Luis👍coming to Chicago from London next February 2024 for our 20th Anniversary. Your channel sealed it thank-you. All the best to you and yours Gene🇬🇧
Love your channel. As a Chicago Greeter your videos have helped elevate my visits. Mostly agree with almost all of your tips especially tavern style pizza. We were ordering pizza at my Michigan Ave Office and I said I didn't really want deep dish (my tummy doesn't like it) I wanted tavern style more than one person asked what that was, I said thin crust in squares and they didn't realize that what is called. However the Bean only takes 10 -15 minutes if you are walking by it why not take some pictures. I think it is cool, one time I saw the real Cookie Monster taking pictures at the Bean.
Cant wait to visit someday and see if this is the city i want to make my home. Also thanks for the shoutout about vegan dogs! Glad to hear theres lots of options.
Me encantan tus videos Luis. I'll be going to NYC by late August and definitely, I would appreciate a "25 mistakes tourists make" in NYC! Thank you for your videos!!!!
I’ll be visiting in August and as someone who’s not used to brutal winters (I live in Los Angeles), I wouldn’t mind visiting during the winter if I had the proper winter gear. Maybe you could make a video with suggestions on what to buy to stay warm in Chicago during the winter and be able to sight see.
Long johns, gloves, scarf, long coat or thick coat, and a hat! But November-December is pretty mild here like 37-50, January is when all hell freezes over
Just noticed that Luis Gusto and his girlfriend made a cameo appearance in a RU-vid channel called Weird History Food and the title of the video is: Every Style of Hot Dog We Could Find Across the US…👍
Great video Luis! I was. I was born and raised in the Southside. I would recommend anyone to check out Pilsen, Bridgeport, and Chinatown in the Southside but that's about it. Not much going on. Chicago hot dogs taste great without ketchup. But I'm gonna put that on my hot dog at the family bbq!
# 1 is for sure the one to not do this is a great ch I’ve been a sub since 2020 and I went to chi last July 2021 for my bday and my gf and me combed thru the vids to pick things to do and had a amazing time I’m still edit the 2hrs worth of footage for my own ch lol
After the Cubs game ⚾, I walked through Northalsted and Lake View East. I have been to Devon Ave a few times. I went to Little Italy scarfuri & ferrera.
@Joey The blind Panther and I understand that, but I sadly don’t care because the city and country officials cater more to tourists than our own residents and that’s a fact. Sorry.
