If I may be honest, with every passing year it gets harder to become a car enthusiast. Nowadays, the emphasis is on how "rare" a car is and how much it will go for in the market. What happened to just "Hey, I'm driving a cool stock/modified car. Let's cruise around the block/backroads and enjoy the drive."
@@SubParGolfer We are unfortunately living in the social media/influencer age. Nearly everyone is proclaiming the modern equivalent of "Hear ye! Hear ye!". How many times do you see thumbnails on RU-vid titled "RARE! I JUST BOUGHT (insert car) 1 OF XX IN THE WORLD!". If someone on the street ran up to you and yelled the above line in your face, you'd pretty much give a sarcastic "Good for you." and walk away.
You answered your own question. “A *cool* stock/modified car” Cool cars are those that are rare or market value, I mean, market value only means its in high demand. Its totally okay to be a car enthusiast in a base 2010 civic, just don’t be arrogant about it or pretend your car is something it isn’t, shrimple as that
6:53 that is so true. I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. I remember my mom was able to squeeze me, my sister, and my brother on one small motorcycle to go places just like it is in 7:02 . It was a cheep and reliable mode of transportation for a lot of Thai people since cars are so stupidly expensive in Thailand. And I remember when I was in 7th grade at which point I'm starting to ride a small motorcycle on my own and carrying 2-3 people with me. You'll be amazed how much you can fit on small motorcycle. It's been 5 years now since I'm living in Houston and I'm always thought "how was I able to pull it off". By the way, nice video as always.
I once fit 4(+me) people in 110cc scooter driving at night when we are doing sleepover (at the time I'm high schooler) Don't be a coward, do what's fun. sometimes it's funnier to do wacky shit like that than cooped up
@@Armorpiercer 100% I used to think, "how do peopel do that" then i started camping and trail riding with my Supercub 125cc. Owning this bike has changed my whole perspective of adventure and even transport. I hardly use my Z06 anymore...and that's good. I can't believe I put wear and tear miles on that car, letting it heat soak in bumper to bumper traffic. Now, every commute is an adventure! Somehow i Feel safer too, peopel used to always rev or aggressively pass me cause they had fragile ego syndrome, but when ppl see a Honda Scooter, I've seen even Big Altima Energy MFs be nice to me and wave me into their lane when I signal lol.
I think the reason people see that but are still scared to have a motorcycle as a daily driver is because in places like SE Asia, it _is_ very common over there; if you ride a motorcycle you have the peace of mind that you're sharing the road with 80+% fellow motorbikes. However, in America, you're suddenly in much more danger. This is not to say accidents aren't common in SE Asia; but would you rather get into an accident with another motorbike, or a half-ton pickup truck?
Up to this day, Even as a car enthusiast that has gone to lots of Autoshows I still don't understand _how_ did I end up getting into cars. I think I just like cool modified cars, I guess. I don't mind being a newbie for a long time, I learn something and I forget something, that's the fun part about learning about cars. There's always something interesting around the corner
As long as you have fun and can enjoy your own or someone else's car that's all that matters. Cars make us happy and sometimes you don't need a reason to do something you just do it, like music for a lot of people
Life's too short to drive boring car's been liking car's since I was 4 or 5 years old 👀neighbors car's or others fixing cars and my pops hooking his car up seeing other cool cars on the road or seeing others hook up cars so I had to do it
Too young to remember, but apparently, I've been into cars since birth, when a surefire way to calm my fussy baby self was to ride around with dad in his green 1964 Ford Falcon.
@1:23 how will you tune the final drive you can see what you’re doing on Forza. If you understand about the parts moon they give you that information kind of somewhat for those even more advance you’re saying that guy wouldn’t know what he’s doing in Forza he just clicking random parts not knowing what he’s doing
As someone with blacked out taillights I can say it doesn't detract from the visibility. As long as you aren't giving it the Nissan Altima window treatment it's fine. Mine are actually jarringly bright without tints and I'm just a fan of black accents. Best of both worlds.
You forgot to add the investors. Always going around saying how your modified car should be stock cuz it'll be worth something someday, and using their car as the example. "Oh I hardly drive it, gotta keep the miles low, did you see what x car did on BaT last week"🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
I listened to them, 10 years later the 81 lt350 camaro is totalled (other drivers fault), and i never got to put a 454 in it like i wanted to. 600hp on the original block Now im restomodding an 84 cavalier sedan with a 3800sc swap
@@HansBelphegor nice it's always good to see the cavaliers still getting love. I got an 04 currently that I'll be supercharging and doing a facelift to the 95-99 model
I actually listened for this and sold a few of banged-out e30s for a nice profit despite the fact that they were not even an m3s... and I know some guys who are already keeping a couple of e39s for a few years in a warm place away from salty roads.
Ran into some of those at a police auction that had a beautiful '73 Corvette. I remember someone complaining that the engine wasn't numbers-matching. That ticked me off so bad.
Haha the R32 one is personal to me… One of my car friends was telling me, I got an R32. Went to his house and saw the VW. Cool car, and technically he wasn’t lying! Also, I feel you with the Civic thing… I have a 2018 Civic Si Coupe, and I’ve been making tasteful mods! I refuse to be thrown in with “Fart Cannon” Civics. Also, yeah, tuning, especially with the 10th Gen Civics with the turbos, are a great way to unlock good power! Looking to add a bigger turbo than stock eventually. But I love it so far! KTuner TSP tune, Air Intake(which actually adds HP and makes a nice sound on this platform!) MAPerformance exhaust(heavier sound, and not a fart can :) ) and ESR Wheels :)
@@ignaciopoco4739 I was lucky enough to get them second hand from my brother! I like them a lot, they look really nice... I have the CS08 in HyperSilver. I have gotten a lot of compliments whenever car people see them! The concavity and the color really pops nicely in the sun. In terms of like track use, I am not sure, but definitely a good street wheel!
Hey Bladed, the reason why there are so many Velosters with the same body kit, is because there are only THOSE body kits since this brand and there aftermarket support is so niche. We Veloster owners just appreciate the parts that we got since the reason behind getting a veloster in the first place is to not be mainstream (Unfortunately for me, I don't get to enjoy it as much as everyone else on this planet bc of german restrictions and regulations). But I think you're conscious of that.
@@callmegeorge Hold my Honda Vigor, Mazda RX-5, and Saab Sonett. My neighbor has an old 2nd-gen Sonett in his driveway and it's just been sitting there for like 8 years because the clutch is broken.
The "my car is rare because it has x and y and z so it's technically one of one" is funny to me because I have a Ford Fiesta, which literally sold hundreds of thousands, but I've got a trim called the Celebration Edition which had bespoke elements, bright green paint, and only 400 were produced. So while I don't wanna say it, mY cAr iS sUpEr RaRe lol
After being locked up for a bit, I had no idea cvts even existed until the one in my sentra snapped. Unfortunately I had an early model cvt and it was garbage even for cvts. Fortunately it happened near enough to a backwoods mechanic that would fudge the numbers enough to have it covered by warranty.
@@charlescourtwright2229 it snapped right at 50k plus 30 miles which is 3p over what the warranty covered. He took one look at the car and said something like "yeah those are new Nissan cvts and they're garbage and Nissan knows it. I'm gonna make them pay for this" first I ever heard of a cvt
I thought the primed taillights thing was a joke until i went to a local junkyard to check on a recent arrival to scout for parts. I'm just so glad they weren't led taillights, just the dime-a-dozen grand am taillights. The spider headlights were nice at least but I already have a set I'm fixing up.
If you want “black” tail light you should go for the black housing with clear lenses. That way you can still see the light but it’s still black. I honestly think it looks “more aggressive” 🤪🤪🤪
Hey Bladed, I recently found a 1969 C3 Corvette sitting in a barn, and I'm looking at pulling her out and fixing her up. She's got an L46 427 big block, a 3 speed manual, and a positraction rear end. I've gone out and looked at her, and her frame's pretty solid, but a lot of the body panels'll need to be replaced, and she's only got 32,000 miles. The owner wants $12,000 for her, is that a good price?
That sounds like a pretty good price for a 1969 C3, they can be worth a lot more in good condition. Check to make sure the engine turns over though, if it’s seized then you’ll need to replace the engine and it’ll be much more expensive to fix.
12k is worth it try to haggle with time/work you have to do, you won't get that opportunity ever again those cars will become priceless very very soon. If I were you I'd get a new battery check the tank for old gas and flush it put a new or rebuild the original carb and buy tons of 3/4 and 1/4 inch hose to replace the leaking or dry lines check fluids and get tons of hose clamps
I have a few points bro #1 nothing is more aggressive than a matte black windowless van if you see one of those pull up around you, your life is about to change forever. #2 Anyone who pays over MSRP like extremely over not like a grand or 2(which is still shitty) needs to have their money taken from them. #3 We're ALL Mistakes bro lol Great vid bro made me laugh and I needed that today cheers
@@Jean_Driftstein Is true, I do live in Malaysia. Underbones (known as "kapcai" in Malaysia) are a really popular choice of transportation, as they're so cheap most teenagers can afford them right away.
@@AKseorangmanusia Indeed it is, I still riding my mom's 2004 Honda Wave 100, it got over 70k km on the tachometer but still run like a champ, the only major thing on it I need to change is the carburetor cuz it's too old and drink more fuel than usual. I just bought the Honda Future (the 125 variant of the Wave) cuz the Wave 100 got stolen. If I still got it, it will run for many years to come!
3:23 thats a cool 350 body kit though but the spoiler is way to overkill, maybe just a smaller wing or lip (like the one thats already on the car) would complete the look of the kit
"it can take a hellcat. I know because I once drove past a challenger that was parked at the side of the road." it's where the "it's not the car, it's the driver" slogan comes into play. it''s a lot easier to beat a car if the driver's in getting a Boba.
Bruuhhh I thought I was gonna make it through this video unroasted but then you brought MiniMoto into it and i knew i was beaned. I like to think my scooter is better than a Vespa… it’s at least 2 stroke with a “50cc” in it- for legal reasons
I have said in the past that my 2004 Intrepid is pretty unique in it's spec since I've never personally seen any others (irl or online) that are exactly like mine. I'm sure they made other Intrepids in the same spec as mine but I've not seen them or most of them may be off the roads so it could be pretty rare but I'm not one of those people that are like: "BrO! i GoT tHe OnE oF OnE sPeC oN mY cAr BrO!!"
My lt350 camaro was 1 of 2 with its options, the only thing that made it rare was the California eq engine was a 231 buick v6. Not even napa computers understood the car, all the v8 stuff would fit, but the v6 parts for the car wouldnt (like the transmission mounts)
Ditto on the matte paints or wraps, some look spectacular, namely Mercedes Designo colors or the Frozen M colors, but it also has to be on a car that has the right styling. One with lots of sharp angles and creases I think looks better with matte because the sharp sudden contrast in lighting, but on a car with smooth curves it looks like straight up primer. So it also depends on the car you do it too
The “locally” hated banners have been killing me up here in Michigan and it’s literally ppl who live in tumbleweed towns that have them like we don’t even know you🤡
"Motorcyclists are happier than motorist" Been living in a country where most people use 125-150cc's scooters for commute, i would 100% say that statement is objectively false
I will argue the veloster build one ends up happening because there's barely aftermarket support, when it comes to body styles, that are different, the widebody is a simple add on cause it's been done already, and honestly, keeping it stock, turbo or not, just looks plain. So honestly it's a double edged sword. I do agree it's like copy and paste but, unless you know someone that can weld and is even down to weld crazy stuff for you, you really don't have much choice. This also goes for multiple cars, mazda 3 2017 for example. All those bodykits they have, only fit the years before 2017. Pre facelift. So to put a general category on "but it's the same mod on all these velosters" kinda isn't fair....but I do wanna see some more crazy velosters, it'll be cool af :3
9:06 Nah Darling in the franxx is mid anime all of the characters are brain dead and the main character simps for zero two despite her nearly killing him and his friends lots of times plus zero two is low tier trash made a worst decision of my life watching that show years ago it was a mistake
I just recently subscribed so I’m curious. Have you done any videos with mazdaspeeds? Yes. I own a speed3 1st gen. Thanks in advance, I enjoy the laughter and jokes
10:45 So true. For much of my driving, I drove a 2015 Redline Red Dodge Durango Limited. AKA, Leather seats, best Unconnect system, a "sports" (Major quotations there) exhaust system, mini paddle shifters. It was great SUV. When I had that thing clean and polished, it turned heads more then you would think. Then people would see my 17 year baby face looking butt get out and they would say, "Dude, how did you afford something like that?" I never lied. I straight said, "Oh this is my mom's car." Never got shit for it. Why would anybody give me any? Clearly, I took care of it, never said I could dust anyone, and never acted like I was better cause I drove it. Not having douchbag as one of 3 words to describe you helps you get some sort of respect.
3:14 i like it when I see a car I haven’t seem or heard of in a while, I saw someone roll into the lot with a Ford Five Hundred, and I thought it was rather neat, I hadn’t seen a car like that until then, it’s quite a cool rebadge of a Taurus
4:00 you just don’t realize there is basically no customization for velosters all I can find is the same bumper body kit and 3 spoilers no matter where I look we need more options
This was fun(takes notes should I ever try to go to a meet again) and I wish you luck with the algae of rhythm (found this term through the description, which is glorious)
Hearing about Barrett Parkway made me feel nostalgic. I remember my clapped out hyundai tiburon i would trash on a regular weekend basis. Those were the good times. I havent been to a meet in forever since the the takeover crowd became a thing.
The main reason bikes have more happiness is because most car drivers aren’t car enthusiast and don’t get any real enjoyment from cars. But bikes are fun in their own unique way, I rode one for a couple years, very enjoyable.
