I got engaged in that Japanese garden last summer during early entry while the park was empty. I’m here now celebrating my honeymoon, typing this from Poly and having a wonderful trip, Epcot is tomorrow.❤
It’s simply not a trip to EPCOT without visiting Living With The Land. It just oozes old EPCOT to me, and I love it for that as someone who didn’t really get to experience or grow up with much older EPCOT. Oh and a trip to Mitsukoshi. For the weeb I am, it’s always cool to look at the merch, especially the anime/manga merch 😂
One more thing: the man who owns/runs Spice Road Table in Morocco is a prince among men. He refunded me part of my fireworks dining package (i travel solo) when i got very sick (from eating something else before my experience there) and had to leave my table to return to my resort. Please patronize this restaurant, not just because of the delicious food, but because this gentleman is an emblem for Disney customer service.
I went on Mission Space during the soft opening in 2003. It was the most intense ride I had ever been on. People were vomiting all the time lol. Astronauts who ride it at that time said it was the closest they felt to an actual launch. Disney has toned it down numerous times. The orange version is good, but it is tame compared to the original ride. When we walked up to the ride the kids wanted to go on, they were 8 and 5. I had read about it and didn’t think it was a good idea. The cast member told us it was like the tea cups in the Magic Kingdom. I had read about the ride and I told the kids I would go on and try it, and if it was good they could ride it. When I walked out, my wife looked at me and asked if I was alright. The only thing I could say was that it was DEFINITELY NOT like the tea cups 😂
My experience exactly. I, too, rode it in 2003. I used EVERY trick I'd learned flying parabolas on NASA 930, aka the Vomit Comet, to not lose lunch, or anything else. I was successful but a lot of the other guests weren't so lucky. Now, it's still intense enough that I do counsel first-time riders in my boarding group on the do's and don't's of resetting your internal gyros.
@@kdusel1991 I heard about that... I believe Disney settled a wrongful death claim but I never did hear much about what the cause was. This is one ride where the recommendation that those prone to motion sickness, or who have heart conditions should go Green.
Really love this channel. Just went to Disney World for the first time in almost 20 years and the recommendations for best food and rides made efficiently enjoying Epcot and Magic Kingdom possible.
I’m going to Disney with my husband and 2 kids next month. I can’t wait to go to Epcot and eat at via Napoli. The Frozen and the France ride are great. Soarin is my top favorite ride at the park. I never miss buying some merch at the china pavilion.
Via Napoli. You have me salivating. It is absolutely the best, freshest food, with the kindest and loveliest staff. I am dreaming about getting to go back.
Will be at Epcot this Sunday for Father’s Day to start our trip for the week. Excited to eat at Le Cellier. Canada is the only country in Epcot that I haven’t eaten at. Looking forward to completing my dining around the world. Thanks DFB for all you do.
OMG! The drinking stories I have from EPCOT. So pace myself? NEVER! 🤣🤣🤪 Just remember what EPCOT really stands for. Every Person Comes Out Trashed. Can’t wait to get there. I am gonna be there for the Food and Wine Festival.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't fully understand why people pay so much money and travel far to a place just to get trashed, something you can do much cheaper at home. Maybe you can help me understand the whole drinking around the world premise.
It’s the variety of different tastes. I remember a time when EPCOT was first opened. It was the only park that you could drink at. Yes it is cheaper to drink at home but back then, it was totally different because they didn’t have the premixed slushy machines and the prices were quite reasonable. And also at those times many of the different beers couldn’t be found in your local bar.
@@jamm1422 The drink variety makes sense to me and is part of the immersion process in the World Showcase. The "trashed" part still eludes me, but we all have different ways on how to spend our vacation.
Do not skip Remy and Guardians - Frozen Ever After is not worth the stress! Other "must do" rides are Living with the Land and Gran Fiesta Tour for "Disney nostalgia" - but do wish they would update LWTL because there are so many new agri tech advances they could feature! Shopping is EPCOT is definitely unique (sports fans, head to the UK shops!). And Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar was an unexpectedly wonderful find - thanks DFB!!
Thank you so much, DFB team! I’m so glad to see you recommending that guests spend time at Mitsukoshi. There are so many cool things to look at, such a variety of. I bought several pairs of those divided-toe socks last time, with an adorable bunny pattern in different beautiful colors. Also, Tiny Train Town - i hope Disney keeps this railroad going forever! I had heard rumors a few years ago that they might remove it to put in a new country.
Counting down the days until I get to go to WDW for the second time. First time was when I was a kid (1999) and now going with my husband. Epcot is the park I am most excited about. The only thing I did when I was a kid was “Journey into YOUR Imagination” (which I loved) If I had known there was a freaking ride INSIDE the park icon I would have absolutely gone on it.
52 days till my second trip to Disney World. I am so excited for this trip. Last time I went with a child, this time I am going with my partner and it is all about Disney as an Adult. I am looking forward to Epcot this time (not as much fun with a small child). We have Monsieur Paul reservations and I am so looking forward to Figment and Living with the Land. 52 days is just too far away.
My wife and I took our first non-kids trip a couple of years ago and LOVED it. We didn't adult too much, though. We just had fun and didn't have to attend to anyone except the two of us. Can't wait to go back. Have a great time!
The Mission Space advice also goes for anyone with a heart condition! I went to EPCOT on a field trip and the teacher's husband had a heart murmur, he was NOT OKAY when he got off of Mission Space. We nearly had to have medical personnel step in! I've been avoiding it ever since, since I have the same condition he does 😅
My main problem with Mission Space was the claustrophobia - yikes! I don't really have any issue with motion sickness, but the extremely tight space on Mission Space made me a little panicky.
Thank you, AJ, for suggesting the lounge at Space 220. I haven’t experienced it yet, but, thanks to stomach surgery, I will never be able to eat a big meal again. Knowing i can have the experience without having to pay for a lot of food I would never make a dent in - that is great news!
We did the Lounge last trip. I loved the experience, and we had just the right amount of food. I do understand your constraint; I don't think you'll have any problem and as you've already been told, you do NOT have to eat it all. But order what you want and enjoy the ambience and the flavors of the foods. And have fun!
This is one of my favorite videos you have made! It was so helpful. I would love to see one for Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom as well!!
Just visited yesterday and rope dropped Remy with only a 20 min wait (even after it took forever to get my backpack scanned at the entrance but no worries). Also the American Funnel cakes are the best funnel cakes in Disney in our opinion!!! Opt for the whipped cream on top!!!
Bit of a hot take here but I think Remy is overrated. I think it would've been far better if Disney put in the beauty and the beast attraction that they opened in Tokyo! And the best funnel cakes in Disney World is at the kiosk near the Indiana Jones show imo!!
Yes a Beauty and the Beast ride would have been amazing at Epcot! The American funnel cake one is my favorite since they always make me a fresh one and I love that!!
@@amysoch4555 it sucks that they took it away! I wish Disney would take more risks like that in terms of their animated films. I've heard that wish isn't really their best work
Mission space green an issue for me the claustrophobic visitor. Found that if i sat in the middle no problem. But when on the end seat, and the door closed, oh lordy!!!
Will they ever bring back all the vendors in Morocco? It used to feel like a bustling bazaar. Now it just seems empty and sad. It used to be one of my favorite spots in EPCOT
What in the world happened to Marrakech?! My one time there was SO yummy and so entertaining and the Moroccan IPs always give the best service 😍 so sad it’s gone
I rope dropped remy from staying at pop and got a last minute space 220 lounge reservation from dining alerts and stakeouts app for alerts for places I want to eat at
They still haven’t took our complaint then. We complained that we had to walk from the entrance to the skyliner and realised it was down because of the weather (even though it was a clear day where we were). So we had to walk all the way back to the entrance. I said that they should put a sign closer to the entrance of international gateway so guests could see it before walking that far to the skyliner. Or at least if you were at Epcot they should send you a notification via MDE that the skyliner was down for the time being.
Will you have to start off with Horizons since that's the best, then head over to communicore/innoventions and see the latest technology..Sing along with food rocks, take a ride with sharks swimming around you on the living seas, go learn about Norway on the maelstrom. And finish off with the Tapestry of Nations parade (then off to pleasure island!)
I have been to Epcot several times in the last 5 years and it was always my favorite park, and I never rode any of the rides until my last trip. I was super disappointed in my experience. Remy's ride was clunky and stopped mid-way several times throughout our ride. There seemed to be a major malfunction. It was so awkward because the clips would keep playing but nothing would happen. The frozen ride was an hour and a half wait and they put way too many people in a seat so it was crammed and the faces on the animatronics are so weird and cheap looking. I say all of this as an avid Disney fan and Epcot is my favorite park. The "new" rides were so not worth it. It really colored my impression of the whole park.
For ambience, aesthetic, style, and theming, EPCOT. If you’re someone who’s more into rides and getting on everything you can, whether it’d be thrilling or anything, Hollywood. Personally I prefer EPCOT, although it’s seen better days…
@kdusel1991 yeah I agree magic kindom gets overlooked by the other disneyparks across the globe but rides in epcot DHS and AMK most of them are what make disney world unique
Mission space made me realize my claustrophobia is WAY WORSE than I thought! I’m so glad i rode it at the very end of the day because I was bawling like a little baby and it ruined the rest of the night. 😭
You said they allow kids at the bar at Space 220? The bar and the lounge are two different things. Last time we were there, in line for the bar, they were turning away families with kids, and enforcing 21+ for bar seating. When did this change?
We confirmed just a few months ago that kids could sit at the bar, we're going to send one of our reporters to check it out this week to see if things have changed
Just checked at Space 220 & kids can sit at the bar BUT they must be able to sit on their own so it’s not really recommended for younger kids. The CM we spoke with said the barstools are very tall
QUESTION about the cellphone carging ports. (not being on property) i did the MDE search for them and only MK spots showed up. does this change whne you''re actually on property?
Hi! At the moment, Magic Kingdom is the only park that shows on the MDE map the places where you can stop and charge your phone using one of their break area outlets. However, if you’re looking for a FuelRod charger kiosk to purchase/switch out a portable charger, that can be found on the MDE app for EVERY park! Just search “Portable Phone Charging System Kiosks” and ALL the locations property-wide will pop up for ya!
Typically, yes! Just be on the lookout for Food and Wine Fest - which will start up this year on August 29th. That’ll probably bring in a larger crowd of folks than we’re used to seeing in August.
Oooh… that’s like picking between apples and oranges! It really depends on who you’re traveling with and what your preferences are. Personally, I would gravitate toward Ohana (but that’s because I live in an area where BBQ is a pretty big deal). However, I think all the BRIGHT colors and Toy Story theming at Round Up Rodeo might be more appealing for kiddos! Then again, if you’re wanting to see CHARACTERS, you won’t find any at Roundup. You’ll have to book a character breakfast for Ohana instead. Ohhhhhh decisions, decisions….
I would never go to EPCOT without doing Living with the Land. I had a ratatouille galatte for breakfast at the Creperie in the French Pavilion in the world showcase. It was so good! I was there during the festival of the holidays, and had the best time! I tried Beverly the first time I visited EPCOT in 2004. Worst mistake i ever made! To me, it tasted like immodium and earwax. It was so bad!
If you're a DVC Member who bought direct, you ABSOLUTELY know where those Imagination pavilion washrooms are because the lounge doesn't have any dedicated washrooms of its own!
15:39 That poor yellow surgeon is not doing well, that's not it's natural color and the fins shouldn't be like that, I'm glad that the personel in EPCOT are very responsible, I'm sure they are already taking care of the little sick guy.
Mission Space orange is the only thing that has ever made me motion sick. So even if you aren’t prone motion sickness beware! Guardians of the Galaxy does not effect me all. Just Mission Space. 🤢
Avoid Epcot at all costs on busy days. If the parking lot is to the back, LEAVE! RUN! LOL. Thank got I'm an annual pass holder! A missed day is meaningless to me. Saturday, September 7th 2024 was INSANE! Packed for no reason I could figure! Wine and Food fest? Not really, I was there several days, even Labor day weekend. There was 100%+ more peeps in the park. Arm to arm, back to back fighting to get in food lines! Makes zero sense! People are literally INSANE thinking a packed park is FUN! It is torture. Wish they'd raise annual pass to $1600 for everyone! Especially Florida Residence! Epcot should have been an older mature kid/adult park. It use to be so so much nicer. NOw? It's just another theme park with rides breaking down and new rides that no one can get on due to crowds. I'm going to Universal Annual passes next year. Disney jumped the shark!
My prediction before viewing the video: 5 of the things on the list should be avoided. 10 things should always be done. The rest are good but not necessary.
Well after watching the video I was a tad bit optimistic. For me, 10 and 1/2 of the recommendations were correct and must dos. 6 and 1/2 were so-so in their accuracy. But a whopping 9 of the suggested must dos where wrong and probably be considered mist don'ts,
