You don't need that bird snail it's not very efficiently for getting food. Just build a fishing spear and go diving. Within less than a minute you can nealry fill up your whole inventory with fresh fish.

I will admit pointing the shelter at the last island you came from is the one tip I took from this video.

I got this game cause I loved the forest, and thought it would be less stressful, was I ever wrong.

One more tip. Once you kill the predators, don't skin them. Boars, Sharks, Mega crabs. If you don't skin them, they will not appear in that area till you have not got rid of the carcass. Sometimes you might want to create a safe place (and I hate when the pigs / boars kick around the stuff I have collected.

You can drag the rafts, sharks, trees you’ve cut down. You can drag almost everything. You can put palm leafs in the water still to for water

the container shelves hold the wood container crates you have all over. the wood containers can also be renamed.

Within the first hour of playing on my first island I ventured to there was two big crabs chasing me I was so scared. Threw my 4 spears at one and they all broke without damaging it. I ran to get another stick, got another spear and actually just went up to them and attacked it maybe 3 times each. It was very easy, but soo scary at first 😂😂

Raft building: throw a spear in the ground directly beneath you and prop the raft up on that. It will let you build on the side that is lifted up.

As for your drinking water... you can add 4 fibrous leaves as well as the palm leaves to your drinking water condenser. And it'll fill up with water relatively quickly. So you only need maybe 2 or 3 at max to keep you pretty maintained with a constant water supply.. hope it helps..

Probably not the first to say this but, you can stack crates in the crate shelf, fill a water still with fibrous leaves or palms to have them fill up without rain, and drag things with the right mouse button. Great video, I learned a lot, thanks!

tip #16 and #20 you can put containers (or wooden crates) on the container shelf's three at a time you can also put the container shelf's on your raft with that tiny raft you have in the vid you could put two container shelf's on that raft with six container that gives you18 slots for storage while your going from island to island for resources

You can get the water still to fill up by loading palm or regular leaves in the bottom of it!!

Oof, I dunno how you managed not to look at the bottom of the water stills to see they can be filled with 4 palm fronds to create more water

Almost every island has stone all over it but you can't harvest it, it's infuriating that I'm surrounded by rock but have no rock.

Also, the label maker is great for the crates!

Having a lot of meat smokers is helpful cause if you leave meat in smoker it doesn't go bad

I was going to build more water stills until I saw that I could just add palm fronds to the bottom.

Nice clear voice, however my friend, how much research did you do before you made this video? The comments are a bit unfair but they are right, most of your tips are incorrect. Do another up to date run through using the tips you've been given because your voice is very clear and you appear to have the patience needed to create an indepth tutorial but please, do your research first. Here is a tip from me, Clay does re-spawn but it does take a very long time, I would say about 6 in game weeks. Stay safe sir.

Crates can now hold five different items for each. A ration will supply a full daily dose of food and water. NORTH is 45 degrees to the right on the map. Make a bed and keep it on the raft. Lanterns light spaces or small areas. flashlights show you the way always carry two. I usually build a 5 X 5 raft. the middle 3 rows consists of tires and barrels on the outside. Steam has crafted islands for the PC game. I have well over 3000 hours invested in this game. If you just want to craft you can play the safe game.(never die + tame animals) Save often. Use the map. More tips Palm fronds and palm tree leaves can be used to replenish the water stills. they can also be used to fuel the fires (yes they can burn) The spear in your hands prevents you from grasping any object (put it back in the backpack) You can build rafts on land but the edge you are working on must be elevated.

#12, you have a watch that displays the time, why need to look at the moon?

Once level 7 crafting you get all the resources back when you break something.

Just a tip for rafts i tend to build 2 one small for quick movement and exploring than a bigger raft with container shelves so i can collect everything on a island and bring it mo my main island

I play on ps4 i got the game about a week ago and your game is different than mine? My still fills with leaves, and your graphics look a little better, the I suppose that could be your graphics card on PC?

tip update Shelves hold three wood chests and chests can be named to ID what's in them. Chests now hold 5 stacks of stuff in them. Shelves can also be built on your Raft allowing for bulk cargo shipment from islands back to your main basecamp. don't be as worried about keeping your Raft small as one can NEVER have enough Storage. Bouy's, Tires & Barrels can be caged with spears between shelves on your Raft to bring back. build item stacks for stuff like Palm Fronds, Yucca leaves, sticks, Logs, Rocks, clay, Coconuts & Rope can be neatly piled in stacks. Water Collectors do not rely solely on Rain to fill, put Palm Fronds or Yucca Leave under them and they will refill

Making your raft bigger helps for shelving to put crates for storage when visiting other islands! You can bring back loads at once then☺️

The wooden shelves hold the containers. Makes it better for having them on your raft. You can also drag the bigger things you kill to an area of your preference and they won't go off if you don't skin them (skin them when you need them)

Tip 1 : I spent 200 hours in this game and water still fills up when it rains.. wtf Thats one the most basic shit of the game. How did you not notice you need a palm leaf to build it first of all ? I feel bad for you dude. Btw best tip of all : When you find a crate dont open it, just take it and drop it next to you save point. Save. Check inside. If you dont want whats inside reload and check again. You can find as much lanterns as you want for you camp in each crate you find on the map.

Add fronds or leafs in still to get more water. Don't waste your time with small game. Hunt for archer fish. They supply medium meat. Very easy to hunt. Organize Organize Organize! Create shelves to Organize your supplies. There's a unlimited water glitch. Man, I need to make my own video! I have so many amazing tips!

When you find a crate, bring it back to camp, then save. Only after saving open your crate, if you don’t like what’s inside, reload from last save, and try again, the contents will be different. Rinse and repeat until you’re satisfied with the contents

This video is a disservice to all new players. I can almost take every singe point of this video and make it actally helpull. Do not take tose tips as helpfull advise!! There is so much more to learn. Water distilleries are not only filling up when it rains, water is actually a unlimited source and dont process every animal you killed right away. This video was done by someone who never read the wiki and thought he is a know it all.

Currently replaying the game and the improvements are kinda meh. I like that there are more islands and you can customized islands, but playing a game with limited resources ruins the replay factor. Great premise though.

Tip 1 thru infinity: These tips are kinda bad. You can use palm froms or the fiberous leaves and your stills will get water. You never even mentioned Clay. It spawns on the eastern side of all islands. Bird snare is useless. Get a fish spear and you get 10 fish in 1 minute. Make bigger rafts with storage shelves. Try to use tires only for base as they have highest clearance. Make a canopy for your raft so you don't lose SPF. Put multiple sails on your raft for faster turning and easy reverse. Pilot raft using reverse sails for faster turning. Range kill everything. Use corrugated for farms as they hold water best. Use planks for raft floors as well as storage shelving. Save your cloth for bandages boss fights. Always have a antidote before going out. If poisoned don't use it right away...wait till ur done farming unless low on health.

200 hours and nothing but bs. All those resources used to make whatever it is your building. Water stills idea is ridiculous. Save tent…build a sleeping bag. Great source of food…look at the ocean in front of you. No animal goes off until you skin it. Ok that’s all I could make it through before wanting to bash my head with one of those coconuts.

You put wood containers on the container shelf for storage instead of on the floor. And use the label maker to change the name on the container so you know what’s in it

You're not using your water stills correctly. You're supposed to add palm leaves to the base. They don't catch rain water.

OK you are using your water collectors wrong, those shelves are to hold 3 wooden crates, and build your raft 1/2 on land and 1/2 in the water

in case you didn't know, when the raft motor runs out of fuel.. you can still use it as a rutter you dont need both

The waterstill collectors you have to ‘fuel’ them with palm leaves or fibrious leaves

The fact you claim you can't do anything with the raft when all you needed to do is drag it back to the water...had been a thing since release.

Tip: all the sharks i have encountered got killed in 8 hits whether by a spear or speargun arrow not Meg tho that's a boss

For your water still add some palm leaves or fibrous leaves to it and it’ll add water that’s what I do on the the ps4

Wanted to get into this game was enjoying it but too many bugs , I can’t save game and there’s so many other little things

You also don't have to have crafting materials in your inventory just gotta be in proximity of them

Thanks for the vid! Sorry about the people in the comments, I personally enjoyed the way you play- even if it isn't all the most efficient. I think it'd be a good idea to replay the tutorial on a separate save every major update in case they add new stuff since you clearly have been playing since before a lot of this stuff was added.

The boat engine acts as a rudder. You don't need both. Just don't use the engine.
