African names are so pragmatic, I might use the same strategy when I have kids haha I will number them, "first", "second", "third", "the last" and "hopefully the last"
Thank you so much for making this video! It’s very thoughtful. It’s extremely difficult to find African baby names with the pronunciations and meanings, especially here on RU-vid. ❤️
Omg I didn’t expect a comment so so soon I am absolutely honored! So glad you liked it and thank you for watching. It’s so true, there are such few African names videos that actually are detailed.
Hi I'm looking for the correct pronunciation of the name Keyah. I see different ways and just wanna make sure I'm pronouncing is correct ! Love all the names you shared 💜
this was so useful- attempting to write a book with a prince whose culture and country is based off north east africa and i’m struggling to find princely names for him right now:)
Hey!!! I am sooo sorry I am only reading this now. I actually just made a video on Royal African baby names. ❤️ Wow! I hope you like them. Please tell me if I can make any others that may be useful to you.
I'm trans masculine and of Vai west African descent, and I'm getting a legal name change soon. I'm just looking for a guy name to make my name as gender neutral as possible. This was very helpful, thanks ☺️🎉
Hi Rachel!! First of all… LOVE YOUR NAME. My sister’s name is Rachael (just spelled different). I just wanted to say “Thank you so much for this beautiful baby name list!!!” I’m just now seeing your video but I’m so glad I found it. I’m an African-American woman and I’ve always wanted to name one of my children an African name to connect them to their heritage roots. But, is so hard to find Africa names that I like, that I can pronounce easily, and that are unique. The most common African names that I know of are Emani/Imani, Jabari, Kobe, and Amani. Although these are nice names, I like very unique names that a lot of people have never heard of before. So the names on your list are absolutely perfect!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ THE NAMES LISELI & WILA😍!! Now I just gotta convince my husband to let us name our next child one of them if we have a daughter. Thank you again so much!!!!
Thank you for sharing such great content! Can you please tell me what language (culture/tribe) is the name Liseli is from? I have been researching but I am not having any luck so far. Thank you again
I really liked the video. :) Very beautiful names. Do you maybe know how to pronounce Laryana? I read, that it's Suaheli and means moonlight, but I really would like to know how to say it.
Yes!! It’s a beautiful name. I am only seeing this now and I already have a video uploaded but in my next video I will be sure to say this for you. And pronounce it. Thank you for watching. I’ll be posting more regularly now.
Hi I saw a movie with Zoe Saldana and she has a name from South Africa but I am not sure of the pronounciation « amyhle » was pronounced a-my-tché 🤷🏽♀️ some says a-my-elle what do think?😊thank you for your work
My mom named me Anise. She got the name from an African baby name book. I have no idea what it means though...other than the fact that it's a spice/ flower.
Those names are beautiful! Is it true that In Africa they wait for the baby to be born prior to choose a name? I heard they wait to see the baby's personality to choose the right name..
I was already there seeing the Jamaican cooking videos and left a comment and your number 560! I most certainly will, just monetized the family channel but wanted some black girl magic here. 🤗
I'm from South Africa, and I'm representing the Bapedi Tribe, some of the names you've mentioned are kind of similar to our namea the likes of: Tapiwa, in our language is Kafiwa Leseli is Lesedi And Sepo is Tshepo in our language
Kayla Niomey Wow that’s amazing! You absolutely have to rate my Ghana baby names video above and tell me what you think.💕 Thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed it.
@@rachelbeyerle4937 Hey, nice video. Afia is strictly for girls born on Friday. No guy will ever be called Afia, Friday-born males are Kofi, according to the Akan tribe (other tribes do have similar or different alternatives). Ghanaian day names are strictly gender restrictive if used as a first name. If used as a last name however, a girl (or boy) can have the last name of typical boy names. As far as I know, girl names are never used as last names. Kwame is a boy name if used as a first name, but some girls can have the last name Kwame, or Koffi(Kofi), to name a few.
