@@tinytanks Greg Gaines dominated on the line too. And don't forget that secondary either. That team had Budda Baker plus strong support in Sydney Jones, Kevin King, Taylor Rapp, and Byron Murphy. Probably the best defense UW had since '91.

Petersen’s teams always had studs in the defensive backfield, because he got the best WA recruits to stay. If Deboer stays, we’ll get back there again. People forget that Washington is the second most populous state, west of Texas, and has decent football talent. We have farms too, lol. They just seem to go elsewhere when the Dawgs aren’t any good. As for this team-Penix is legit. While I can’t say I was sure we were beating the Ducks, I knew we were capable. We’re too talented offensively, and our ends and LB’s are good, it’s our DB’s that need beefing up. Too bad Last years guys, Mcduffie and Gordon, didn’t return, we’d be even better.

Phenix deserves to be in the Heissman running. He went 26 for 35 and 405 yards with a couple easy catches dropped. He has been great all year. The interception was poor judgment under pressure, but he redeemed himself. What a team effort though!

Might be an inferior conference, but we're better schools academically than those universities in those grits and gravy conferences located in places without much else going on. This the is healthiest Penix jr has been in 2 years, His sophomore year against Ohio State, he should have thrown for 600 yards, way too many drops but he still finished that game with 495. That Ohio State team was loaded with NFL players. That same year, he also gave it to Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. He could never stay healthy after that season. He was a forgotten man.

In fact your Vols averaged a measly 2.2 yards a carry on the ground to Oregons 4.5 vs Georgia and you put up nearly only half the yardage Oregon did on 10 more attempts? Oregon has went thru several head coaching and entire staff changes in as many years… How many programs survive that and stay relevant??? Much less come out the first year with a new HC, a new OC, a new DC, 20 sum odd transfers due to vacancies from the previous coach’s departure, and not only that but have done this multiple times in the last handful of years, and come out and go to the College Football Playoff the first year out of the gate??? NONE. Oregon has NO expectations of that, yet only far exceeded expectations for this season by becoming part of that conversation. Hell at the beginning of the season, most experts picked Oregon to go 8-4, losing to Georgia, BYU, UCLA and this Washington team.

@@hallowsgate3232 I'm pretty sure uga is beating anyone easily. I don't think tennessee would be as bad if they played again though. For one tennessee couldn't handle the crowd when they played. Game was definitely more lopsided then the final score showed but tennessee was able to settle down in the second half and prevent them from beating them like an fcs opponent. On a neutral site it might be a decent game for awhile.

@@tyusbrooks9997 I hope your not implying that Oregons game was a “neutral site” with Georgia. 😂 Hell it was played in Atlanta for crying out loud, and 60,000 tickets were allocated to Georgia fans to ensure the stadium was chalked full of Georgians. Tennessee may have “settled in” defensively, where Oregon failed, but they certainly didnt do any better than Oregon did offensively, especially not on the ground or in the trenches where it matters. Hell Vols only averaged 2.2 yards a carry to Oregons 4.5 yards a carry vs Georgia, and they put up nearly half the yards Oregon did on 10 more attempts. That stands out. Physical matchups like this… Tennessee did far worse than Oregon did, at least in trying to move the ball. Other aspects of course and I agree with you… but only to some degree.

Tennessee still scored 4× the points of oregon. They definitely played better. Everyone knows Oregon wouldn't stand a chance if they played them again. I don't think tennessee can beat uga but they can give them a good game. Oregon is losing the game in the first quarter if they play.

They had 0 quality wins and lost to Arizona state who is terrible. The main reason they got in the top 25 originally is because they beat Michigan state. Then we found out Michigan state sucks. They're a pretty good team but would get curbstomped by any top 15 team that isn't from the pac 12 or acc.

Classic PAC12 game where teams knock each other out of the playoff picture. It's possible Oregon took Washington too lightly. In any event, the Husky's sure rose to the occasion and played their best game of the season. I remember (like yesterday) when unranked Oregon State beat the No. 1 Trojans. It's why they have to play the game, right? This too is one of thoes games in PAC12 history.

I love how quickly you get your highlights out but I wish you did more replays of important plays and told the story a bit better. If I didn't watch the game last night I wouldn't know the significance of a lot of plays that were brushed over

Yeah I am on east coast, so I missed the game Saturday night unfortunately. What plays did Wheels leave out? I'll have to check the box score but these replays seem to show Washington dominating for most of the game, with the exception of giving up a couple wide open touchdowns, and then of course Pennix's bad play when they were 5 yards from scoring a touchdown and he threw a pick. What are some of the other significant plays that occurred?

@@Black_Caucus it's worth watching the full game highlights if possible. It was prob the 3rd best game of the year behind Tenn/Alabama and Alabama/LSU. A lot of things were just glanced over, like Boe Nix getting knocked out of the game, an amazing play that was almost an interception but the WR took it away, showing Penix's int from a different angle (wasn't a good decision but you can see what he was trying to do). The last few drives were epic and I didn't feel like the highlights here really encapsulated that.

I didn't think I'd ever say this but Bo Nix looks like a first round pick. This shows you how bad the offensive coaching in Auburn has been. Nix also came into Oregon at the right time because Cristobal was a clueless coach too, made Herbert look like a 2nd rounder.

Overrated U goes down. Thank you UW. Saves us from seeing another Duck massacre from( pick your SEC team). Don’t even think usc has the stuff to compete vs SEC playoff team. I think Notre Dame will beat them anyways. Utah is the only PAC team I’d have faith in to put on a decent showing vs a playoff team. But they’re out of the running unfortunately….

What I learned from this game is . The Ducks have no backup QB worth depending on if NIX goes down . I also get why we were running in our 2nd ti last possession but no play action and we should have got into the end zone. Sorry that’s on the coaches. We did not have the matchups with their receivers. Our corners are not the greatest but Prediction 23 top teams are also going down . And one will be Georgia TCU will also slip And Michigan . Think Ohio state will be in the big game
