What I learned is Dogs do age at a rate of 7-1 but not for the entire life like people think. They age around different rates throughout their lives.

I'm from Villa Rica, GA. Also, George Lucas met Harrison Ford while he was installing a door at Francis Ford Coppola's house. That was how Ford was cast in American Graffiti since Lucas liked his presence when they met. He then asked Ford to run lines with the other actors for Star Wars. Eventually, he realized that Ford got the character of Han Solo better than the actual hopefuls, so he offered Ford the role. So, that one was actually true... from a certain point of view. *pushes up nerd glasses*

7:58 rodents are also fond of peanut butter. use that in your traps. A. it's easier for them to smell it, so they come from far away, b. it's hard for them to get it off the trap and they will keep eating it until they set off the trap. Additionally, use a 'bucket mouse trap'. it's MUCH more effective than the old 'snap' traps. the 'rolling pin' ones work better than the 'flip' ones....

Mice like holes. My mother was taught by her parents to leave a shoe next to a wall to trap a mouse and remove it. If you are setting a trap, place it against the wall in a box. I have had great success with peanut butter as a treat for dogs and cats, as well. I consider it the universal solvent, so many animals go for it.

To try to avoid developing kidney stones, you really need to drink lots of water, but not necessarily 8 glasses of water per day. Putting lemon or lime juices in the drinking water helps.

this is true. but most people don't realize or remember that the 8 glasses of 8 oz. a day is for hydration. so 64 oz. to stay hydrated to prevent other health issues, it just also helps deter kidney stones. learned this in biology in school, forgot it, then relearned it again in the Army. have remembered since then because they forced us to drink the full amount each day while in Basic.

My friend actually got rid of kidney stones by drinking water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in it. He drank this concoction. I think he said three times, and the vinegar managed to dissolve his kidney stones.

Kidney stones are crystallised sodium ascorbate / ascorbic acid, aka “Vitamin C”. Dosing up your hydrate with lots of citrus juice is not how to avoid kidney stones.

A lot of people seem to be unaware that there is such a thing as good cholesterol. There are good fats and bad, and our bodies need good fats to function. Things like nuts and avocados have healthy fats, whereas something like a pizza has bad fats. Also, there is a myth that mice hate peppermint and so you should spray it around to deter them. When I had mice (gotta love old houses!) they ate a box of after dinner mints...lol

So...? The place to see is Ashfall in Nebraska. Sobering. If there are alerts about Yellowstone, take them seriously. The hot spot has been moving NE and if it erupts in modern times could take out major US and Canadian cities, as well as the bread basket of both. You don't want to be around for that long, dark winter, famine, and economic disaster.

3:26 you 'should' use oil (preferable extra virgin olive oil or avacoda oil) in the pot when you go to boil the pasta. this helps prevent 'over boiling' and having a mess on the stove. the oil prevents bubbles from keeping cohesion and thus reduce the amount 'bubbling' up in the pot. (similar principle of having a wooden spoon across the pot top). BUT after that, there is no need for oil in pasta. Tip: if you are making a tomato sauce with the pasta. keep 1 cup (16 oz.) of 'pasta' water after the pasta is cooked and before you drain the pasta and put that into the thick tomato sauce (just don't make it too watery or you'll be there forever waiting for it to boil down again).

The only thing oil in pasta water does is prevent sauce from sticking to the pasta. No professional cooks use oil.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil burns at extremely high temps so you're better off with the standard one or the Avocado oil and keep the Extra Virgin for drizzling(Not drowning) over your salads.

the active ingredient in skunk spray is sulfuric acid. so to get rid of it, you should use a base like Sodium bicarbonate to neutralize it. Baking soda... rub in everywhere you got sprayed and if any got in your eyes, FLUSH, FLUSH, FLUSH.. tomato sauce doesn't work because most tomato sauces are acidic which does nothing to counteract the sulfuric acid...

Mom used to get epileptic seizures. We werent worried about her swallowing her tongue, more that she might bite it off when her jaw would clench so thats why they put things in their mouth to bite down on. She often had swollen bruises on her tongue if we hadnt got the bar in her mouth fast enough. I have seen this first hand and it is horrifying.

I used to work in the medical field & remember when we put things in patients' mouths. I am also an epilepsy patient myself. We no longer put a block in the mouth of patients. It is more of a danger that the patient can break off teeth on a metal bar or bite through and swallow something softer than to actually bite off part of the tongue. It is crazy how much has changed over the years in how we react. There are now classes on emergency response to seizures just as there are for CPR.

About the small dogs outliving the big dogs thing, scientists think that shorter humans tend to live longer than taller humans on average because a heart in a tall body simply has to work harder to pump blood all the way around 6'4" of blood vessels day in, day out than say 4'11" of blood vessels. Some call it the "little old lady phenomenon". So it seems reasonable that a "little old doggy phenomenon" could be a thing too.

In the UK mice seem to like spicy stuff, maybe that cheese thing is a local observation. Personally though I've found they find poison bait and old human pain killing pills, irresistible and rats seem to like the same and soap. 😮

The bait I prefer won't kill pets but is an anticoagulant for rodents. It capitalizes on the rodent's susceptibility to internal bleeding. It takes time, though. You won't see a big body count.

I love these videos…Mike is a trip and I love crazy facts like this. I have learned a lot from these videos. From this one my favorite wrong fact is the one about dairy making your cold worse. I have gotten into so many arguments with my sister-in-law about this because she claims that she absolutely knows the truth and that milk is bad for you. I don’t care if I have a cold or I don’t have a cold if I want a big glass of milk, I’m having a big glass of milk. 🥛

Actually and this a chef tip cook your pasta in salty pre boiling water quickly, drain leaving a tiny amount of the water and your sauce with stay put, even if you add olive oil. ❤

I'm 40, been exercising almost daily since I was 12. Never stretched beforehand. I still roll out of bed and crank out a hundred pushups when my alarm goes off. Stretching is cool and all, but proper form is paramount for joint health.

Instead of oil with pasta, put some salt into the boiling water before you add the noodles. This will help reduce the starches becoming like a geletin, and sticking together and to the pot.

Drop your pasta in the water in a spiral pattern and let it cook about 6 minutes, turn heat off and stir pasta. Let it sit for about 3 min then test to see if it's done

In rural W. Tx it is common for skunks to be everywhere AND spray our dog… we use peroxide, gain laundry detergent and tomato sauce to wash them - it works.

After years of ballet I came to the realization that warming up before doing barre was actually more beneficial. Taking on a plie with cold joints and muscles isn't a great idea. Back in the 1950s my neighbor used Tide detergent on their retriever that had a skunk encounter. When I stop and consider the source of some of these notions they came from the mother of a playmate who also believed that a pregnant woman frightened by a snake will have a baby with a snake-shaped birthmark.

You SHOULD stretch before a workout, but it should be dynamic stretching, not static stretching. Save the static stretching for *after* your workout.

I washed my white dog in tomato juice when she got skunked. The smell went away quickly, which might have been from bathing in anything and/or from staying outside, but she turned a delightful pink for two days. :) I think it was worth it for the amusement value. :)

As someone who has diverticulitis, if I eat anything with seeds or nuts. It always acts up. I also have arthritis in my knuckles, from always popping my fingers.
