I figured it must be around that based on shooting the 19mm plating of Velos and over penning and the 25mm plating of Elbing and full penning. Unfortunate. I can't understand why they would change that. That low pen threshold is what makes the ship truly useful.
An AP only DD would be interesting if it had the same AP as the light cruisers and could pen even a broadside DD. Most DDs can fight you easily if they don't panic and try to turn away. Now that's where teammates come in but a "DD hunter" shouldn't really need help most of the time.
You should review buffed Tulsa. It might be worth using over Salem now. Personally I always preferred Tulsas hull over Salems because it’s slicker and therefore harder to hit, but now Tulsa has a considerably faster reload than Salem which gives it a bit of an edge.
I imagine that Druid will be adjusted to deal more damage to destroyers. How that will effect it's output against other ship types I can't say. I'm close to 25k steel and considering Salem, or perhaps I'll just invest it into more epic mods. Thanks for showcasing the Druid, GG on your part
I didn't have enough when Golbert was available for a limited time. So now I afraid to spend silver before I have enough in reserve for any new potential limited ships...
Every ship in this game is good in the right situation I’d argue. I somehow struggle in a Shimakaze but I’ll flat out murder in a Harbin. I’m sure the Druid has its time and place.
Isnt there a commander that has a short AP fuse perk? I don’t remember which class/country the commander is for though. I would try the set up, but I don’t have Druid. Edit: maybe AL Baltimore has that perk? CA commander on a DD isn’t too unusual 😂 I run a DD commander on Mino.
I enjoy unique ships like this. Although I dont know why they changed the ap arming threshold from pc. Imo having ships behind 25k steel is too much, and WG seems to be allergic to having a british campaign ship (how long has it been..2years?)
I don’t know either. Seems like having the lower threshold would make it a threatening dd killer, and that would be the main thing it has going for it. But I guess balancing said nope in this case.
1. I will never get 25k steel, i use it for modules and not for just one ship. 2. It should have been a better Lightning and not a gimmick ship. 3. I will never get 25k steel with the amount of time i play wowsl nowadays 4. I will never get 15k steel period 5. Did i mention i will never get 25k steel?
I’ve been playing for 3 years and still don’t have 25k steel, (I would if I didn’t buy some mods) but even when I get to 25k there’s not a single chance I’d spend it on this thing
Playerbase player knowledge/skills has gone drastically downhill over 5 years! Matchmaking is terrible, RNG is worst of any games! Overall it's massively disappointing and war gaming is to blame with over monetization! Bad customer service and the list goes on but fuck it I'll just keep on hating coz WG make it so easy to do so!
