I've never been on a cruise ship but I grew up in Southern California so I was close to the ocean. I've been fishing on big boats. I've done sailboating and trips over to Catalina Island which is a fun place to visit about 3 hours across the ocean. To swim. Snorkel and shop.❤
The longest boat journey I’ve had was 14 hours from Manila to Iloilo province and we slept on the double deck beds that you saw..cheaper😬 this transportation are preferred by people coming and going to the provinces who usually bring with them loads of stuff even a car
Travel by ferry boats or ship is a good alternative in going to different islands. In the last decade, PH tried to modernize the ferry system, avoid overbooking of passengers and reforms were implemented in hiring of crew and maintenance. Result: no more major sea mishaps or disasters. As long as you’re not in a hurry, sea travel is good.
Of all the foreign vloggers I've been watching here, you guys were the very first one I've witnessed done this kind of "adventure". 'Cause most vloggers just use air transport...🤔. Anyway, welcome to the Philippines, have fun but stay safe anywhere you go. I'll see you on your next adventure...😁😎😍
Sometimes, you have to be wise when traveling. If your departure time falls towards the night or past 4PM, you might as well take ferry instead and save on the room expenses. Because check-in time for most hotels/airbnb nowadays is at 4PM. Now, if your ETA in Cebu is around 5PM onwards, obviously you don't have much time to explore but stay in your hotel and pay full room rate.
@M J Regular ferries schedules are more fixed and only once daily especially between two distant points like Cebu and Manila. So you have to buy ticket in advance. Ferries ticketing offices don't need to operate 24/7 because their trip schedule is only once daily and leave at a fixed time. You have to plan in advance if you want to travel by ferry between long distant points. For short ferry trips like between Cebu and Bohol or Cebu and Leyte, tickets can be purchased online or in many ticket or travel agencies inside malls and even hotels beyond 5PM.
You're the first couple I've seen who travelled to Cebu via ship. When I was a kid, I also experienced travelling to Cebu via ferry (It was called SuperFerry in 1990s). I enjoyed it. So now, because of your video, I would like to experience it again. I'm glad that you are enjoying your stay here in our country.
Yes, it's really fun and enjoyable esp. when it's summer season and lots of Pinoy singers working from Japan joined the live band onboard. Night life on the ship was very lively, fun and an awesome experience. I really missed those days! haaay..😊
@@MattandJulia I know this older video but trying to find out if they still require proof of vax for the ferry. I can fly into Cebu without it but looking to get to CDO...thanks
This is first time I've seen foreign vlogger on a day-long ferry ride. I used to take a ferry from Visayas to Mindanao regularly when airplanes weren't easy. I miss this kind of travel, but I don't think I want to take it anymore because it's tiresome when all I do in the boat is sleep. So amazing of you to take this and show to others another possibility to move from island to island.
Wow, never been in one of these before, times have change for sure. When we left Cebu to Manila and ending to the USA in the 70's we boarded a ship like this to Manila with bunch of people sleeping in open air with canvas beds, this is luxury, insane. As a Cebuano, enjoy your trip there and safe travels!
I have always wondered what it would be like to travel by ferry around the country, but I NEVER would of imagined it could be THIS spacious! 😲 such a great package too, food and everything.
i've been taking the ferry on my way from mindanao to manila and palawan and i can tell you that there have been a lot of good changes as 2Go ferries accommodations are being managed separately as "hotels".
Wow, it's my first time to see inside the boat like that as I have never ever tried that before when I was growing up in Manila. Now I am in Canada for 22 years and still want to experience that kind of trip. Cheers guy stay safe on your journey as we follow yours.
That was quite the size ship and a great cabin. I hear the island of Cebu is stunning. To be enjoyed. Can't wait to see it. We hope to be in the Philippines next year. Thank you as always for taking us on this journey. There couldn't be a couple than you guys to travel with. Sending you lots of love. 💖💖 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
That's great! You're the first foreign vlogger I've watched covering a trip by ferry. Before the pandemic you will enjoy more because there was disco, karaoke, band playing, but I think they stopped temporarily. New subscriber here watching from Saudi Arabia! 🙏😊💖
Wow😯 This is a first! Traveling by ship to Cebu? You guys are really adventurous. I haven't seen any blogger does that. Kudos to you guys.👌 You've just unearthed an undiscovered ways to get there and 🛳🇵🇭. Keep on discovering, experiences are priceless 👍🌞.
Transportation between Manila and Cebu is most extensive in the whole country with lots of options as these two destination have the most number of travelers. Aside from the air links with over 50 flights daily (via several airline companies) between the two cities and daily ferry schedules, you can actually go by car or bike your way between Manila and Cebu via roll-on/roll-off ferries, though much longer but at least you have your own car or vehicle when touring around Cebu.
Coz most are in so hurry mode to reach the islands by plane they don't like suspense trips like these two did 😂 ship will make you bored but can do a lot
Woawww... good job you guys!!! I love that you're taking the ferry to Cebu. I am so happy to see this. I haven't really seen foreign vloggers purposefully taking the ferry from Manila to Cebu, haha! I remember taking the ferry a few years ago to visit my GF in Cebu, and people thought I was crazy for taking the ferry instead of taking the plane, hahaha! I did book the suite as well, and it was a great deal if you don't mind killing time. It was a fun experience, although I have to say I did have an awful migraine a few hours after we set sail. I guess I got seasick for a while, but then I felt better after 8 hours and I was walking out and about in the boat until we docked. I was very happy I did that. So I got really excited seeing you did this too. I love it!!!!!!!!
@M J i took the boat one time on low season days. I paid for one bed in a cabin for 4 people. I was alone on the full stretch of the trip. Manila-Cebu-Cagayan de Oro.
First time to see foreign vloggers try boarding a board, this is refreshing. It reminds me of my childhood, where I experience this going to the province. Hope you enjoy your stay in the Philippines. Keep it up!
Love talking the ferry . I grew upon an island so I've taken ferries 100s of times . For me is the best method of transportation . Love sitting on deck watching the waves and smell the ocean . I have a co worker from Cebu I hear that is gorgeous there . Take lots of videos please ☺️

" least travelled road are the best fir explorers ...." Having followed you on all your blogs , it just validate your character as traveller vloggers ... which is the best to offer your followers!!! Your the first vloggers who chose this long journey from Manila to Cebu, most of them took only inter-island in Visayas region. 2GO Co. is likely in gratitude in you for this , its free advertisement. The farthest I have taken in a ferry is Romblon , which you mentioned. Im scared but its worth of ecperience.
I also loved going on the upper view deck to do stargazing. I would just take a single cot and enjoy the open air sea breeze as much as I could while reading or playing card games with my friends (if we were with a group). Taking an overnight cruise is a relaxing way to travel as long as you're not on a tight schedule.
Always learning something new from vloggers. Thanks to you, a lot of us found out about traveling via ferry in style w/ food & accommodations to boot! Cheers! 😎
Wow, Im waiting for foreign vloggers to do this👍 you can also try Ro-Ro transportation..you ride a bus or car then it goes in the RoRo vessel and jumps to another island..usually the Roro jumps from one island to another (multiple destination)
That always depends on the amount of time you have. If you only have 4 days/3 nights to explore a destination, you won't take that ferry option. These vloggers don't mind taking the ferry because they have open schedule unlike short-time tourists whose time is very limited.
Julia’s Reaction is cute ☺️ i forgot to subscribe now done. I remember when I was a kid we always travel by sea to get to our province and visit our grandparents and relatives . ENJOY AND TAKE CARE . ❤️
Wow! Stunning sunset indeed and well captured! I agree, good deal for the boat trip in a suite and with meals included (and stunning views as bonus!) ❤❤
Wow! You are the 1st foreign vloggers I've seen taking a boat ride from Manila to Cebu. You certainly are adventurous 😊. Welcome to my hometown 🥰. New subscriber here. Keep safe as well 😷
02:49 it is a good practice to call 4 hours prior to boarding to ask if the boat has docked or if the boat has ,at least, entered Manila Bay. The boats are always late.
Again, Filipinos love the camera!!! I am jealous! I am going to have to return to the Philippines and tour the area as you guys are doing. Bohol is where the chocolate is located!!!🤗
wowthis is new with all the foreign vlogger i've watched. you took the boat instead of plane. enjoy the country. WELCOME, keep safe, and enjoy the country.
🤗 Hey guys happy to see you again. 👍🏻 My first time to see foreign tourist/blogger ride a ferry to Cebu. Usually they ride airplane.. So cool 😎 enjoy Cebu guys and try Lechon & other Filipino exotic street foods 🥰🤩
Wow with over hundred of foreign vloggers and locals who travel to Cebu or Davao you are the only one i watched travel by ship, amazing experience,i love it.
good thing you experience riding on a ferry in the PH, coz many vloggers ride with plane , they have not experience the joy of journey in the PH from ferry like you did,, for me personally i love riding on a ferry than airplane. enjoy im from palawan philippines and i enjoy the ride on a ferry from palawan to manila
Thanks for this video, I missed my Hometown Cebu City. Last time I got to visit there was Sept. of 2019. I did not know that we still have this type of boat transportation from Manila to Cebu and vice versa. I envy you guys, it's now in my bucket list to do, hopefully soon. Enjoy your trip, Von Voyage.
My wife and I just took this exact same trip and even stayed in the same cabin as you did. Our voyage was longer as the ferry made a stop to load and unload cargo, 35 hours and 44 hours. Our cabin had no toilet paper unless we asked, had no soap and the A/C didn't work well during the afternoons. It took forever for the hot water to get from the engine room to the shower head. We also ate in the Horizon Café (all business and first class passengers do) and the food was always cold. The staff was asked to micro wave it before serving and that solved the problem. They would also warm up the cold pizza and adobo we hard brought with us. Our ticket for an Aug. 4 departure was $180, almost twice what you paid but still a bargain in my mind. There were a lot more passengers on our voyage with the cafeteria line up out the door and all the way to the reception desk. This boat has no WIFI and cell phone conductivity is spotty. Many times to get cell service you had to out on the top deck. All in all it was a great trip, the boat was clean and the staff friendly.
Wow, you seem to be constantly on the move, that must be exhausting. At least you could relax in a lovely room while travelling, this time. Happy travels X
09:30 I am guessing the fish you were served might be lapu-lapu.....BTW, Lapu-lapu is also the name of a city in Cebu. Lapu-lapu was also the local chieftain pre-colonial times.
Guys, i hope Bohol and Palawan are also on your list. They're among the top tourist destinations here. And when you head back up north, include Batanes also - the New Zealand of the Philippines, sans the freezing temperatures. :)
This is nice.. a true adventure by boat going to cebu.. first time i've seen a foreigner vlogger did this. One thumbs up for you guys.. new subscriber here.
You made the right decision to travel to cebu via the ferry. You would be able to see the beautiful horizon and scattered islands along the way night and day. Enjoy.
The sun looks big because its nearer the horizon than you usually see it. We tend to see the sun setting over trees or buildings or hills. At sea, it goes down to the lowest possible horizon, giving the sun a context you don't usually get. You can get the same effect if you're at an ocean beach facing the direction of the sunset/rise.
You are the first vloggers I saw taking the ferry to Cebu. You gave me an idea to take also the ferry if I'll go to Manila. I love taking ships/ferry than plane, I just don't like flying😅 Enjoy your stay here in Cebu
Just subscribed Watching from Canada 🇨🇦.."FilCan Jones family 👪"Welcome to our Country Philippines 🇵🇭....Mabuhay!!!Wow!!!your riding ship to Cebu...When we vacation in Philippines.I likes my family to experience the ship..I knew it's fun because when I was a kid our family always taking ship during family reunion in Cebu...I am really happy watching your vlog....Keep it up!!! enjoy and stay safe all the time
Wow ! 👍 nice Video, it's my first time I see foreigner bloggers doing this kind of trip in a ship 🛳 its more enjoyable and more time to relax during the cruise...❤️
Wow I have never seen the room inside the boat and even the interior of the boat ,,,it really is bjg,I have tried boatt before but not for a long travel in the Philippines ..watching from France
Thats so nice your suite. Its so nice you guys vlogged about your ferry journey. I almost forgot we could actually take a ferry to Cebu. Enjoy your time in Cebu ❣️
Wow, Thank you for showing us what is like inside the modern boat. As far as I can remember, it has been like 37+ years ago since my last boat ride traveling to other islands in Mindanao and Manila. If travel time is not of an issue and would like to experience the boat ride in a full day then the boat is much more relax than an airplane in a perfect day. You have the chance to see different islands in your boat route during the day and night skies as well. I would highly recommend to get a cabin exclusive for you to have your own privacy and bath. Welcome to my hometown beautiful Cebu. Enjoy and have fun, you have plenty of places you can go from beaches, to mountains and in the metro. Lastly, pls don't forget to try our regional foods especially from the very famous LECHON CEBU known to the world and seafoods. Be safe guys, pandemic is not yet over.
@@MattandJulia If you get seasick, just take a pill we called Bonamine. It is over the counter meds that you can buy to any pharmacy. It comes really handy. I always have that when travelling, you never know when it hit you. This is not only for seasick episode but also motion sickness when commuting in a bus to different towns that would require 2-4 hours travel. It is recommended to take one pill 30 mins to hour before your depature time so that you can rest and fall asleep. Goodluck !!
