Just stumbled upon your channel. Back in 1983-5 I kept my first boat, a Birchwood 25, at what was then called Racecourse Yacht Basin. The owner, at the time, and his father dug the basin and the channel to the river, themselves (with machinery of course 😂). Fast forward to today, my wife (Diane) and I now live in Lilliput, Sandbanks, overlooking Poole Harbour. We moved here from Molesey, Surrey, 4yrs ago. We keep our Parker 850 Voyager at Cobb’s Quay Marina, 15 minutes away. We overlook Saltern’s Marina but refuse to pay c£12,000 to berth a 30’ boat 🤦♂️🤷♂️ I’m easing into retirement - will be complete once we’ve sold our company - therefore plenty of time to mess with boats 👌 Good luck with your channel. I used to be at TingDene Racecourse Marina which is the marina you mention and I was at that for about three years. When I bought my V40 they were unable to provide me with a suitable berth and I am fortunate in having a cracking Bert at Windsor Marina owned by MDL.
